“Every trip to Eastport is a treasure in itself but The Waco Diner is our favorite stop. Delicious food whether it’s off the menu or one of Chef Steves special weekly creations. Breakfast features their overstuffed omelets, Blueberry Pancakes and more. The lunch menu is huge featuring delicious sandwiches, seafood and salads! Dinner is spectacular with nightly specials as in TexMex & Chef Steves Seafood & Steak Entrees. Full bar from open till close with the outside deck having one of the best views on the island. “I would not recommend here from my personal experience. The breading on all the items was very thick,Therefore couldn't taste the seafood. its unfortunate because the sizes of the Scallops and Shrimp were huge. I pushed aside the breading as much as I could. The Coleslaw didn't taste like anything.“

“Ocean View Takeout is the best ! Visited Aug1 while on Deere Island. There were 4 of us and our food was excellent. (Have been to the …Digger in St Andrews which I would rate a 4/10. In 2025) Ocean View is by far superior in quality of their food. Burger and fries were the best we have had this season !! and we are foodie critics. Keep it up Ocean View . We will be back the next long weekend !!“

“The owner and staff are pure gold! We were unexpectedly without hotel accommodations on the first night of a 3 day motorcycle tour. We were late comers in their door close to closing time to figure out what to do. They graciously welcomed us in, quickly provided us with hot coffee and delicious beef stew AND MORE IMPORTANTLY made our situation their problem to fix. After a flurry of leads and suggestions from everyone next thing you know we had a place to stay and it was beautiful! They were our angels that night!“

“I don’t begin to understand the poor reviews. We ate here last year and had a great experience and repeated this year. Honestly some of the best fish and chips I’ve ever had and I like that they don’t rush you because idk, I actually enjoy my wife’s company and we both enjoyed the view. Service was spot on too even though our server was on her very first shift. We will definitely be back. What’s the rush people? Take your time and savour the meal and the surroundings.“

“My son’s hockey team had a team lunch here and it was the perfect spot! The staff were amazing… fun, fast, efficient and so great with the kids! They had an area for the team to sit together and higher pub tables around the perimeter for parents to enjoy some peace together away from them 😆. They banged out the kids orders first and I was impressed with how quickly we got our food and drinks. Then they opened the big door to the patio and the kids went out there while the parents finished up eating and paying the bills. Great food, atmosphere and staff!“

“I had the best lobster roll ever. There was a huge claw piece on top of the roll and it was beautiful! It was very tasty and filling. My husband had clam chowder and it was flavorful and loaded with clams! Topped off dinner with freshly made wild Maine blueberry pie with ice cream. It’s worth the drive from Georgia just for this meal! The staff was very friendly, checked on us frequently and made sure we had what we wanted.“
