“Atmosphere is amazing. We've been twice and we will be back. The food is decent but don't expect a 5 star taste. The scenery makes up for the long wait and luke warm food once it does make it to your table. It is pricey but we didn't mind because again the Atmosphere is very romantic.“

“Pick up order of the beef clay pot. Though it was good, it definitely is not a good to-go option and it is TOO EXPENSIVE for what you get at $70. Clay pot filling, a small container of rice and 4 wraps (which do not travel well) By the time I got home, the bread was hard and to get the gooey bread topping on the clay pot was very difficult. It did not feed 2 people, we had to make extra rice to make it go farther. I gave it a high score bc the flavors were really good.“

“We absolutely love Portofino’s Gastonia...We usually eat in their restaurant but I was recently in the Hospital and was wanting their Spaghetti so We opted for take out and they did not disappoint bc it was a huge portion of Spaghetti and stuffed Shells as well as a nice healthy salad..The food was so hot and fresh..Thank you“

“I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant, and I especially want to recognize the excellent service from managers Camilo and Jon.
A few weeks ago, I was dining with my party, and unfortunately, we were seated near an air vent that was blowing extremely cold air. Camilo and Jon immediately noticed that we were uncomfortable and came over to make sure we were okay. They were attentive, courteous, and genuinely concerned about making our experience better.
Camilo even offered me some warm soup and had the air adjusted to help provide some relief. That level of personal attention and care really stood out to me. It showed that the management team wasn't simply focused on getting through the day—they truly cared about their guests' comfort and experience.
Because of how Camilo and Jon handled the situation, I would absolutely return. What could have been an uncomfortable experience was turned into a positive one because of their quick response and great customer service.
Thank you, Camilo and Jon, for taking care of your guests and representing the restaurant so well. Great service like that makes a difference, and I look forward to coming back!“

“Monday evening 8/3/26 we had Derek taking care of us. Im telling you the best service came from this man. He was funny, confident, hard working, knew the menu, and drink menu by heart. “Always an amazing dining experience at this place. The people, the food, the service and atmosphere. It’s like eating at grandmas house. The food is the best in Gaston County. Good cocktails too. My go-to place when I want a good meal or entertaining people from out of town.“
“I stayed at this hotel after a delayed flight forced an overnight layover. I ate dinner at this restaurant and was so fortunate to be taken care of by Betty. I sat at the bar for almost 4 hours and she was so attentive to all guests while also being able to hold a genuine conversation with me. I went to the bar frustrated over my delayed trip but truly feel so grateful to have crossed paths with such a kind person so willing to share conversation and talk about life with a total stranger. The food was delicious, the drinks were wonderful, but it was Betty that made my experience one that turned my delayed trip around completely. I will absolutely make it a point to come back and order another drink and lava cake from Betty when I’m in the Charlotte area.“

“Absolutely recommend! We came in as a party of six for a late lunch, and everything was wonderful. Our waitress was amazing—friendly, attentive, and made sure our drinks stayed filled throughout the entire meal without us ever having to ask.
The food was delicious, everyone enjoyed what they ordered, and the service made the experience even better. It’s always appreciated when you have a server who is attentive without making you feel rushed.

“Being from NY it is exceptionally difficult to find decent pizza living in the south. Luigi's is our go-to when we want pizza and the food is always on point. The staff are friendly and welcoming and we always have a great experience here.“

“We used to go there when it was a sushi/Japanese restaurant. We went today with no expectations,there was only one other car there,so I didn't have high hopes.On arrival we were met by a great hostess and seated immediately.The menu wasn't huge for lunch,but just enough to not be overwhelming.It was me,my husband,3 year old son and super picky 12 year old daughter.Me and my son got water and my husband got a soda and daughter a sweet tea. The sodas were off so they both ended up with sweet tea that they liked.We ordered the bread plate and special of the day crab cakes.The bread plate was $5 and was worth every penny. It had bread with an oil and vinegarette dip and also fresh mozzarella and tomatoes.The crab cakes were delicious with a tomato,mushroom,corn slaw.My daughter ordered the burger with just cheese and ketchup of course and it came with fries. It was huge and on a chibbata bun, she couldn't even finish it. My husband had the penne Bolognese he loved it. I had linguine with clams. They were huge in the shell clams just not clams thrown in.It came with bread and one was burnt,but the amazing waitress replaced it no problem. The prices are great for the amount of food and quality you get. Will be back for sure.“
