“I'm an Italian jersey girl and have been searching for some tastes from home. The place is well decorated, nice selection of items, and my God the sandwich!!! I got the godfather and it was the best sandwich I have ever had!!! They're a little pricy, but if everything else is as good as that sandwich...well worth every penny!! Highly recommend this place!“
“WOW! The Stromboli is SUPERB! All the ingredients are fresh. Sliced sausage, not from frozen crumbled. Dardan (the cook) is a big intimidating man that treats you like an old friend the minute you walk in. This place is a treasure. If you're in the Mathews, it's a must! I know I'll be back!“
“We traveled to Charlotte today for family time and found this restaurant near our destination. We got to town early and decided to eat. I got the bruschetta and mozzarella sticks. The bruschetta was on bread that was very soft in the center with crispy edges. It was perfect. Huge slice of mozzarella, which was made in house. On top of that was the diced tomato glazed with balsamic. The mozzarella sticks were crispy. They gave me a basket of complementary garlic knots, which were absolutely amazing with homemade marinara sauce. They have a large selection of beer, wine and liquor with 18 local drafts on tap. The staff was super kind and brought me a box for my leftovers with smaller containers for the sauces. This place is super nice inside with several televisions and music. The bar area is my favorite. Two appetizers and three beers with the knots was only $40 bucks! Well worth the stop.“
“Mary was out server. Also tended bar. She is the epitome of excellence in making the time I spent with my wife here memorable. Mary helped us in purchasing the additional 2 for $10.00 offers as well as assisting us with our choice of bar drinks and our side choices. You need to keep this person and use her to teach others how to be exceptional servers.“
“New ownership has made all the difference at this place! The food is delicious now and the portions are crazy-big. They renovated and it's so much nicer inside. The food is very fresh. seemingly from scratch and the garlic knots are SO GOOD. We forgot to take pictures of our dishes which is too bad because the stromboli was giant. We also had a pizza and the sauce was delicious. If I had to say something critical in an effort to be more objective, the pizza could have used a few more mushrooms and onions for our preference but it was still delicious. They also have a nice dessert selection. We were really pleased and will be back regularly.“
““I’ve had a lot of mid pizza in my day, this could be the best pizza I’ve ever had”- High praise from my 16 year old son with a mouthful of tomato basil pizzaI stopped here for a deep and strong cannoli craving and man did they deliver the remedy. Creamy and crunchy, so very delicious. Perfect blend of sweetness.Being a southern girl from birth, I’ve never understood the desire to eat messy chicken wings with so little meat benefit for all the work of getting a bite off the bone. Several years back someone introduced me to Bisontes, ordered me wings and the light bulb went off right over my head. So this is what real Buffalo wings taste like. I finally understand the craze now and am a wing consumer as long as they come from here. The atmosphere isn’t the big deal here. Most people coming in were getting pizza to go. This place takes extra care to produce delicious food. I believe their secret must be that they don’t scrimp on ingredients. Can’t wait to go back!“
“When you go to Mario's, you know you're getting quality. Quality ingredients, quality service, and a quality experience in general. It's not the most affordable place but if you're looking for legitimate Italian, there's few places that do it better.“
“I was looking for a restaurant for my wife and I for our anniversary. I always wanted to eat here when I lived in Plaza but finally remembered to come since it's a special occasion. Our serve was Dylan and he didn't disappoint with service and recommendations. Ambiance was very Christmas-like and personal especially since it was the holiday's, which felt very private and personal. For starters, I had the escargot and my wife had the Apply Begger's Purse. I was a little surprised with the Gorgonzola taste since I was used to copious amounts of traditional garlic with the dish, but it was surprisingly tasty. The purse was also a good mixture of sweet and savory.I tend to be an adventurous eater and he recommended the ostrich since it was the special for the weekend while my wife had also had the special which was halibut. The Ostrich wasn't very gamy at all the was a mixture of beef and duck tase which took me for a pleasant surprise and the Halibut was cooked perfectly and wasn't very dry.For desert we tried their Flourless Molten Lava Trifle and it was he right amount of sweet.Overall, it was an amazing experience will highly recommend for any special occasion or just date night. Will be back for sure!“
“We were in town for one night and We didn't have reservations but when we arrived, they said the wait time was 45-55mins. We waited close to 90mins for a table while others passed us by. I think they forgot about us until I got up to check- then they said 'sorry about the wait, we will seat you next.'Other than that, the food was delicious & our waiter Jason was very nice.WOULD RECOMMEND MAKING A RESERVATION“
“Went for a Friday date night and had a wonderful evening. We hit the jackpot with such a wonderful waiter, Tyler! Tyler was very professional, knowledgeable, tentative, and on cue. We were torn on what to choose, but Tyler came to the rescue and recommended entrees and a paired wine based on some of the options we had in mind. The pork chop and fish was amazing! Overall a wonderful evening thanks to our waiter and great dinner! Highly recommend for special events or just a nice date nightParking: Expect to pay $20 for parking, located attached to the restaurant. Not sure how much valet was, but we opted to park ourselves and walk to the restaurant. Deans does not validate so plan accordingly.“
“Many cool places to eat at in Downtown Charlotte, NC. This little pizza place was perfect. Crowd was just us during a weekday, near lunchtime. Perfect place to unwind and have a meal with our family. We really enjoyed ourselves. Food was excellent, service was efficient and timely, atmosphere was beautiful.“
“The Panini's are awesome, bread is baked locally and you can tell the quality is excellent. The owner and young lady serving were very sweet and helpful. Some cool imported Italian products to choose from as well. Well worth the visit. Will be back.“
“Our first visit and it was well worth it!! We made a reservation not knowing if it was going to be busy. Glad we did as it was packed. We waited about 5 minutes for our table. We later found out that there was party that had over 20 people and that out them a bit behind. We were seated and promptly greeted by our server, Grayson. He was pleasant and cordial. We made our meal choices from an excellent offering. Our soups arrived quickly and they were delicious. Our entrees took a bit longer. Gave them a little leeway in this as I am sure the kitchen was a bit backed up when 20+ orders came in at once! When the food arrived, it was well worthy the wait. Both meals were excellent. The pasta was on point. I was told it was made on site. The chicken parmesan was tender and was not overly breaded. The service was great. Grayson kept our glasses full and was attentive. The food was delicious. The restaurant had a phenomenal atmosphere. Go here if you are looking for the next best thing to going to Italy for a meal!!“
“We had a party and the earliest delivery time in the online system was not ideal for us. The team worked above and beyond to ensure the pizza was delivered at the time we needed. We had a variety of flavors. All are good and Hawaiian is our favorite! All guests love the pizza!“
“Hannah was our server. She was spectacular. She greeted us immediately ensure we had time to decide and our meal was not rushed. We were surprised at the end with their cannoli cake for a birthday at our table. Food was delicious. While we waited we met Tay at the bar. Very friendly. Gave a great wine “
“I ordered the meatballs for an appetizer which were a little too tough for my liking. Did not break apart easily. For my main dish I ordered the orecchiette which were phenomenal (cooked al dente). The crushed red pepper was extremely spicy, the server warned me but I thought I was tough. The ambience is intimate so I agree coming alone is not ideal but that doesn’t bother me.“
“Our 2nd time visiting, and definitely not the last, as our daughter in particular LOVES their pizza. Since True Crafted Pizza at Stonecrest closed in 2023, this is the closest we’ve found. The outside dining doesn’t have much atmosphere, but it was a lovely spring evening in Charlotte, so very pleasant. Our waiter (feel bad that I forgot his name) was wonderful - just the right amount of attention without overdoing it.The braised short rip pizza was very good; my only quibble with it, was the short rib was a little dry. Still delicious, though. The Margherita pizza is perfect, and the Eggplant Parmagiana (not pictured) with spaghetti was good 1 and a lot of food!My wife thought the tiramisu was wonderful, our girls polished off the hot chocolate chip brownie, and their vanilla/chocolate/honey bourbon tickled my taste buds just like a real Italian gelato.“
“Amazing! The food was truly incredible. I highly recommend the Sunny Cavatelli or Ricotta Gnocchi. I only gave service a 4 instead of a 5 because our waiter was very knowledgeable and helpful, but didn’t really check on us and we had to ask for more water.“
“This is our third time here and every time the experience has been amazing! Tonight our server was Mackenzie T, she was incredibly nice and was on top of everything. We came in on a Sunday evening when it was very busy but the service was excellent despite the fact. The food was so so good! Can’t wait to come back soon!“
“We've been here a bunch and keep coming back. FOOD: All yum! Pay the extra $4 for fresh pasta. Apps: The Prosciutto and Burrata is a yum appetizer. We also like the little dish of beans that come with the complimentary bread. You get one complimentary refill of bread, then they charge you. Entrees: Our favorite dish is the Buttara. Amatriciana is another favorite of mine. Hubs also likes Penne Alla Vodka with Shrimp. My dad likes the Chicken Parmesan (note it doesn't come with pasta, thats another ~$9 for a side of (out of the box) pasta). There is no kids menu, they can sell you a "kids pasta" which is sauce and out of the box noodles. Drinks: Everything is good. Dessert: Save a few bucks by getting Duck Donuts next door or TCBY across the parking lot.“
“Some of the best pasta I've ever eaten. I can't believe that I've been coming to the 7th street market for years and never had them before. You can choose what kind of noodle you want, and have a variety of different things you can add to the pasta. Check it out if you get the chance!“
“What a fantastic addition to South Park! It is a casual restaurant with a little market and yet the ambiance is that of a trendy upscale restaurant. The furniture, lighting and sound level were perfect. The service was amazing and I don't think I have had better homemade Italian food in Charlotte.“
“Our first time in Charlotte. We had traveled all day and wanted Italian but we were dressed very casual so did not want an upscale restaurant. Zio was perfect. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the prices were reasonable.“
“Beautiful family owned Italian taverna. The menu is geared towards the Sicilian region. Everything is homemade. Many of the staff are from Italy. These guys know how to provide hospitality, relax and enjoy your dining experience and evening. This isn’t a place to rush through eating. Relax. You are in Italy!Parking: Free parking lot.Kid-friendliness: While these restaurant is very nice and has an elegant vibe, it also has a family vibe. They welcome children and have a kids menu. They also know where to sit the children so they have space to wiggle and be children.“
“Never been here before. Wish we had these back home! Delicious food with a super friendly staff. Kids loved their pasta bowls and m salad and piada were amazing! The avocado salad with grilled chicken was legit and the dressing was bright and flavorful. The crispy chicken piada was a delicious sammie!“
“I cannot say enough great things about Cicchetti. The wine selection was amazing. Something for every budget. The menu was unique and interesting. The food was so delicious!!! Our waiter was attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. Overall an amazing experience.“
“Aqua e Vino stands out with its superb ambiance, offering a perfect blend of sophistication and comfort. The food is a delight, with every dish showcasing culinary expertise and attention to detail. The inviting atmosphere is complemented by an impressive wine selection, providing the perfect accompaniment to a flavorful meal. Whether you're drawn in by the cozy setting, the delectable cuisine, or the well-curated wine options, Aqua e Vino promises an exceptional dining experience for those with a taste for both exquisite food and refined surroundings.“
“The service was excellent starting with the fact we were running late and they still let us be seated when we arrived. Our server was very friendly and informative of different menu options. Food was great and portions were very good size. We will be back again!“
“Staff was super friendly and helpful. The margarita pizza was fast and tasty. Love the buffalo mozzarella ! Open table seating / order up front. Little fixens over by the beverage machines. Also had to sip on the side of marinara (so good ). It’s definitely a family friendly happening spot.“
“We’ve eaten here for years. Management has been consistent. The food always good. We always ask for Brenda and Victor as they are much more than good wait staff. They remember things form our last visit, make great suggestions and always make us laugh. We would enjoy them very much away from the restaurant and we are lucky they take care of us when we are there.“
“Went to Toscana to celebrate my wife's birthday, I mentioned this in the reservation. To our surprise there was a birthday card wishing my wife a happy birthday when we arrived at the table. We started with the Beef Carpaccio (wife LOVED IT) and Bruschetta (I wish the menu had stated it came with balsamic vinegar). For main dishes my wife ordered the Mare (LOVED IT) and I ordered the Pollo Medici (REALLY GOOD). Overall a great dinner and the staff were fantastic. I would recommend for a special occasion or family celebration.“
“We are visiting from Connecticut and this was our first time at Maggiano's. The food was the Best I have ever eaten. The manager Jordan and our servor Marie gave us impeccable service. I had the salmon dinner. My husband and grandson had the beef medallions. We started with the wedge salad. Had the stuffed mushrooms and fried zucchini. My husband had the tiramasu for dessert and I had the butter cake. We are going back to Celebrate our anniversary next week. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience.“
“This was our first time here, we came for my husband's birthday and had a lovely experience! Our server was attentive and very knowledgeable of the menu, had great recommendations and the food was fresh and delicious! We will definitely be back.“
“Today was my first time here and I can’t say that I’m disappointed. I ordered a veggie pie and plain pie to start off safe. And it was so yummy! The dough is amazing! I can’t wait to try other menu items now!!!! Oh and the service inside was amazing!!!!“
“First, received excellent service. Waitstaff had a thorough knowledge of the menu and the preparation of the dishes on the menu. Second, food was fantastic. Great tasting marinara sauce for the calzone. I highly recommend the calzone. Third, prices are competitive with other restaurants and dinners around. A must stop if it will be your first visit.Wheelchair accessibility: Restaurant is wheelchair accessible for both the takeout side and the dine-in side.“
“After a wonderful lunch at Ilios Noche, I must rave about the delicious and varied menu. We had the most courteous and professional server, Trip. He was so friendly and knowledgeable. I have never had a better meal, great atmosphere and awesome service. Please do yourself a favor and have a meal at Ilios, especially if you are gluten-free. They have a fantastic choice of Mediterranean fare. This has made our Sunday afternoon a very pleasant experience.Dietary restrictions: If you are gluten-free, the Mediterranean menu offers a very wide selection of wonderfully delicious meals.Wheelchair accessibility: Since I am in a wheelchair, I found it easy to enter and exit the restaurant. The staff was quick in holding doors open. Sat at a table comfortably.“
“Lucy and Richard are the best!! We always come in with a whole bunch of people on Saturday night…. Right before they close… and they’re so kind! They serve us with no attitude or complaints! If I were a server and a group of people came in at close…I’d raise hell! Thank you Hawthorne’s Pizza!“
“Holy cow their food is good! I don’t know what they are called and have never eaten Brazilian food, but will have it again. Each pastry had a unique flavor. We especially like the one with sesame seeds on top, it has a rich ground beef, ham, cheese and spice mixture in the middle. The staff couldn’t have been lovelier. Great place!“
“In the search of a venue for my Alumni Fraternity 74th Anniversary celebration we toured The Hamilton Event Space. Immediately sold on the space once seeing all of the different room locations where we not only provide our guests with an experience they wouldn't forget but also "Wow Factors". The event Manager Alyssa Corbin went above and beyond with providing details, suggestions and answering all questions throughout the planning process. She made the planning process for 400+ guests easier than ever. She was also accommodating with our vision for the space. Thank you for everything Alyssa. The evening of the event we were greeted by Ben who was our main contact for the night of the event. Another above and beyond service as he was everywhere throughout the entire night ensuring everything was flowing. At one point I saw him walking thru the crowd to handle something and he hit a few dance moves with the crowd, this type of energy by staff is always appreciated and enjoyable. The entire staff was GREAT from Maddie, Whitney, Franklin, Myriah, Eli and Mariah. Their service was top notch as all guests were able to be served in a timely manner but overall a fun experience. This was my first time meeting the owner Tom. He was extremely pleasant and at one point we were trying to figure out our additional sound we wanted in the front of the venue. Tom came to me and gave a suggestion, after his suggestion he said "but you don't have to do it that way". You don't meet many owners who will give you options and during what could have been a panic moment Tom gave the best suggestion but also was trusting of the decision we were going to make (we went with his suggestion by the way). The food...let's just say the leftover food I had the opportunity to take home and definitely enjoyed the next day. The food options seemed endless from review of the menu and with what we selected we were not only satisfied but highly impressed. (The food is GOOD).The Hamilton Event Space gets a 10, two thumbs up and standing ovation. It's rare, especially after the pandemic to patronize a venue where everything is TOP TIER! To the entire Hamilton Team The Sigmas of Charlotte thank you all for allowing us to create a memorable, enjoyable and most importantly unforgettable event.“
“I found this place on google a while ago. The restaurant is on the smaller side, but I preferred it. Very intimate space. Now the food… amazing!!!! We ordered appetizers before our meal and I didn’t want to share. I have no complaints about anything.“
“My friend took me here for dinner while I was in town and it did not disappoint! You can dress casually, or dress it up for a special occasion. The service was great and made wonderful recommendations. I highly suggest the white garlic bread for a starter and the vodka rigatoni. The food was delicious and we didn't feel rushed. They do validate parking in the attached ramp, but only up to two hours.Vegetarian options: They can make many of these dishes vegetarian friendly.“
“Indaco is a nice rustic Italian spot in Charlotte's South End. They have a great menu with wood-fired pizzas, delicious pastas, and housemade cured meats. The atmosphere is casual and inviting. The service was slow when we went there as it was a busy Saturday evening. I highly recommend Indaco for a delicious and enjoyable Italian dining experience! Make sure you reserve your table in advance.“
“We come here often. Traditional , quaint ,atmosphere family Italian place and very friendly servers. The owner is always present and walking around. Don’t scoff at prices- as the Plates are more than plentiful and will always take it home.“
“Dined here with friends twice in the last two months. Both times the service was attentive, the food was fresh and delicious, and the atmosphere was cozy and comfortable. Lasagna, seafood fra diavolo (special), risotto, ravioli--all were wonderful.“
“I popped in there yesterday before going into Trader Joes. So glad I did! I picked up a quick, easy, delicious dinner for my family and the chicken salad for lunch - everything was outstanding and prices are extremely reasonable. Friendly people too. Check it out!“
“One of the best Italian restaurants in Charlotte by far. Fantastic service, Antonio was an outstanding server and the food was unbelievable. We will continue to return to this gem of a restaurant. Maria Jose and their staff were also phenomenal.“
“The first time we got a pizza here we decided to try a slice in the parking lot. It was so good that we ate the whole thing sitting there in the car. Later, Ryan encouraged us to try different types of the pizzas they make. They really are all good. I don't know how they make the sauce so good, but we comment on it every time.“
“Delicious food, great service, real Italian spot. Kids split a small pepperoni pizza which was a good size and delicious. Husband got baked ziti & I got the chicken capers that came with a side of angel hair pasta with one of the best cedar salads I’ve ever had. I will always support good quality family owned restaurants (with no tvs & fluff!)“
“Great place for a HUGE late night slice! Benny’s has been the spot no matter what town they are in since my college years. If there’s one in town I’m stopping by. Benny Pennello’s is no exception, a great slice to cap off a great night!“
“This is an excellent Persian food. Everything is so perfect. The Kobeda is excellent, the lamb chops, the amazing Persian rice and most importantly the pizza! Only the people from Iran or Iraq will understand how good it is. When I tasted it, the smell took me back to my hometown. All in all everything is perfect and I strongly recommend this place to whomever interested in Persian food“
