“turkey Rueben was good but not great, the kraut was only in the middle of the sandwich so when cut in half it was a little bit on each side but if you don't really like the kraut- this is perfect to get the flavor but not the actual kraut - the bread was great and the turkey was good! Def will be back.Parking: lots of parking available -easy to get in and out“
“What a fantastic restaurant and bar. The food and service is better than you can ask for, (ask for Lauren, Hannah, Sam or Maria) the ambiance and dress of staff offers a new and fun take. Steampunk without being overwhelming and Edgar Allen Poe mixed in the best way possible. I would suggest the Irish Nachos with Beef. Any of their burgers are a solid choice. Finding it hard to see anything wrong with this place, hopefully they will continue to expand, but come see these guys because this is the best one!“
“Amazing little place to take your kids or if you are craving any chuchería, the got an ample menu from ice cream to Maruchan locas, price is reasonable and the place is also super clean. If you live in the area I recommend 100% and if you’re visiting the area you can leave without trying their food.“
“Found this place while looking for a new spot on a Sunday evening. The beer was great, and this is the only brewery or bar I’ve been to in the Charlotte area that has decent lighting. The staff were fantastic, so helpful and friendly and kind. Definitely recommend.“
“Do you like a smooth sweet but not too over the top coffee? Brakeman's Honey Bee Latte is for you! I am sure their other drinks are fab but this is the drink I purchased a minimum of 5 times in my weekend sun the greater Charlotte area. Even when the place was busy, the baristas kept their positive and upbeat attitudes about them. It made the experience that much better. Plus, you have cute items and decor to view if you have to wait for your coffee which doesn't happen often given how quick the baristas are.“
“Li’s is an awesome restaurant close to Matthews. A couple years ago, they were only taking to-go orders, but they are back open and the dining space is very cordial. The cashier lady/waitress is extremely friendly and the food comes out super quick! I highly recommend this spot!“
“Great lunch spot! Ordered al pastor tacos and was pleased. $16.95 for 3 tacos, rice and refried black beans. Everything was delicious and hot. Chips and salsa are $1.95 extra fyi. I do consider this an expensive lunch, considering this was lunch. I did order water but once you toss in a decent tip, you’re over $25 for a lunch. And a lunch most people would finish as it wasn’t “large”. But they did have several other dishes I would return for, regardless of price. Enjoy ?“
“This is my third time coming here. I love the vegetarian Pad Thai and Pad See Ew. I ordered vegetarian Pad Thai and shrimp version for my daughter. Taste is flavorful, although I wish it had bit more tanginess to it and I was missing a wedge of lime which is not a big deal. Overall, would recommend this place for a quick Thai cuisine, it’s tucked behind other establishments across Matthews Public library.“
“Good food, very friendly waitress. Inital impressions were like it looked like a dive bar, but the cocktails and super service and food said otherwise. It could use some updating and some more menu items. Otherwise I was extremely happy with the food and overall service. Will come again.“
“Saint Pat's day was a moment. To see all the staff celebrating the holiday was exciting. Our waitress was so helpful in helping us choose our meal. Her little self was so friendly. The bathroom was clean, and you don't see that often at other restaurants. Now I have to honestly say the Mamosa was just Orange juice. But we didn't complain due to the good service we had overall.“
“Anytime I am in the vicinity of Brakeman’s, no matter if I need it or not, it’s coffee time. It’s a quaint little home that they turned into a full-fledged business. The concept is locomotives, so the interior exposed brick, hard metal accent pieces, and even names of beverages all point in the same direction. The customer service is incredible and usually has the same faces, so getting to know the staff on a first name basis is very common. The bakery they contract with is a local non-profit and puts out amazing products. They also have other food related items for purchase for convenience. Where it all matters, because upscale coffee shops are white noise these days, the beans and roast are impeccable. I’ve tried a little bit of everything on their menu and the espresso is very high level. I highly recommend the Ticket to London. Pricing is on-point and reasonable considering the quality of product and location of business. What I really enjoyed, just as much as the rest of the aforementioned aspects, was the customer demographic. You get a variety of everyone in there, but yet it doesn’t feel overcrowded, overhyped, or commercialized. It’s just a good local spot with great coffee and top shelf staff. I highly recommend. Rating A“
