“I’m not in Monroe often, but when I am, stopping at Alice Jules is a MUST! The drinks are consistently delicious, the service is quick, and the staff is genuinely friendly and welcoming every time I visit.

Their dog-friendly porch is a huge bonus for me! It’s such a great spot to relax with your pup and enjoy the atmosphere (and a pup cup!). It is clear a lot of thought and care has gone into creating a space that feels both fun and inviting.

Kent and Melody truly set the tone. They go above and beyond not just for their guests, but for their team as well and it shows in the overall experience. As a small business owner myself, I really appreciate the level of intention and hospitality they bring.

“Great chicken, the tenders are whole breasts, flattened and fried perfectly (they look like fried flounder); so good. Mac & cheese and okra are really good too. Very friendly staff and well worth any wait for fresh, great tasting food at fair prices. You won't be disappointed. Support local!“

“Truly, an amazing place! Simply simple ,good food extraordinarily clean, & the place has been there forever. I always say I wanna try something different but I get the two dogs with slaw chili and ketchup. Bag of chips sweet tea. Nothing fancy here absolutely basic but still extraordinarily delicious. “Celiac? Gluten sensitivity? This is your place. Living with Celiac or having a gluten intolerance is frustrating by itself. It becomes much more frustrating when you go to a restaurant and you tell the server your issue, and they look at you like you're an alien from another planet… or worse… get frustrated with you. I've lost count of how many places I've had to walk out of because I knew just from speaking to them that it wasn't safe for me to eat there. That doesn't happen here. Not only do they have plenty of gluten-free options (which are well labeled on the menu)... But the staff also seem to be well trained on how to handle the questions that we may have. I had a server specifically ask me one time after I ordered a gluten-free bun if I was Celiac…that has never happened before…anywhere. (I've been here enough now that they pretty much all know without me having to even say it anymore, but that's beside the point.) The staff and owners have always been extremely friendly whenever we are there. The atmosphere is great, the food is great, and it's just an overall great experience for us every time we go. It means a tremendous amount to be able to sit down at a table and not really worry about how I'm going to feel 30 minutes after I leave because someone in the kitchen or the server themselves doesn't understand how to handle my food after I tell them my issue. It SHOULD be this easy everywhere, but those of us that deal with it everyday know that it's not. If you're looking for a place that serves great food, with staff that understands what it means to be careful with cross-contamination and what you're served, this is your place. Communicate with them clearly, and you will not be disappointed.🤘“

“Love this place especially when it rains. You see I work in the construction field and when it rains I have the day off and get to have a sit down breakfast. The waitresses here always have a smile on their face, are very friendly and the service is normally quick. The food prices are from my opinion are very reasonable and the quality of the food is off the chain. Eat here once and you'll be back.“

However, we recently tried Shoku and it has now been added to our list of favorites! The sushi is fresh tasting and full of flavor. The hibachi style meals are absolutely incredible - and the sweet carrot that comes on the side is amazing! If you love a good crab rangoon with lots of filling you will absolutely find that these will satisfy your craving. The customer service is wonderful and the prices are great. Online ordering is super simple to use as well. So far we’ve dined in once and gotten to-go once as well as we will definitely return!“
