“Dairy Queen is kind of a big deal. At least that's what I thought for most of my life. When I was a little girl and we'd drive past it, I could just taste the yummy ice cream that I might get. Those fond memories still linger. That's why when my mom and I were driving past it today, we both looked at it, smiled at each other. In that moment no words were spoken or really even necessary. I made a U Turn and just like that... We were going into Dairy Queen. It was a humid, late spring day today, and I wasn't alone with the thought that today was an ice cream day. There were families with their excited little ones, teens and adults filling the lobby as we waited on line. The manager was training two new associates but service was efficient. It's been around since 1940. Did you know that if your server cannot hold your Blizzard upside down, you can get the next one free! They also post the caloric ranges on the menu to help you make better informed choices. With the vast assortment of mix-ins and toppings, it's a cold sweet treat that has been a happy staple in my life. As an adult I appreciate that I can continue to share these DQ moments with my mom. So here's to the 80 years of yum and all the deliciousness to be had in the future.“
“We all scream for...... ICECREAM!!!Cool place (literally!) with nice staff and quick service. On the day i went, there were 5 of us in my party. The staff got our orders right and got us in and out quickly to then service the line of people behind us. My order of choice? I LOVE the Peanut Buster Parfait..... but with a twistI typically get pecans instead of peanuts.... Caramel instead of fudge!“
“Great option for ice cream. I have never gone wrong with a Oreo blizzard. The prices are affordable in my opinion and plenty of great options to choose from.They have outside seating which was a great option for us the weather was perfect for it.I took away a star the staff did not greet us or anything before ordering or upon entering the store. The restaurant is small so I am just not used to that.Other than that I think it's a nice option for ice cream.“
“Went to great my ice cream fix at night and it did not disappoint. The blizzard was cotton candy delicious, recommend that flavor and the sundae was equally great. The service was quick and friendly, I had no issues with my order and I got everything I ordered correctly. Recommend for great ice cream and food.“
“DQ is definitely a staple in the Queen City. I grew up going to DQ both the Central Ave and Wilkerson location. My favorite is the Peanut Buster Parfait with extra roasted peanuts, butterscotch dilly bars or dipped vanilla cones, and Reese/heath blizzards. I'm gonna miss DQ if he decides to close. The owner has done so much for the community. DQ was open before I was born. This brings back childhood memories for me. I hope he stays open as long as he can. I also understand after serving the community for years it's understandable to sell and enjoy the fruits of all his hard work to spend time with family. I'm gonna go as often as I can. Hands down the best service, staff and ice cream in the city.“
