Yugenn is a Japanese restaurant that takes the art of both Japanese cooking and cocktail making to the next level. Whether it be the Hamachi Haru with the semi spicy strawberry Ponzu, salmon nigiri with lemon, or Scarlett Crown Sushi roll (Tempura Soft Shell Crab, Avocado| Topped: Spicy Tuna, Spicy Mayo, Fried Garlic)) It was all delicious artistry. Amazing food and drinks! Locally owned. Definitely a must try.

The Hamachi Haru with the semi spicy strawberry Ponzu, salmon nigiri with lemon, and Scarlett Crown Sushi roll (Tempura Soft Shell Crab, Avocado| Topped: Spicy Tuna, Spicy Mayo, Fried Garlic) were all delicious artistry. The fresh fish was incredible, and fish dishes that have never been had anywhere else were executed to perfection. The sushi was incredibly fresh, beautifully prepared, and absolutely delicious. Food is always fresh, flavorful, and delicious. The Lotus Milk Punch cocktail (Clarified Don Julio Reposado, Zacapa, Lime, Pineapple, Coconut) probably jumped to favorite cocktail in Charlotte. The ambiance was amazing and the decor is beautiful. Service was impeccable and 1000/10 across the full staff. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and inviting, with helpful suggestions and pairings for food and drinks. However, the wait time for food was longer than expected, with sushi waited for over an hour and a half, though the team compensated with an unexpected free appetizer/dish. One roll did not arrive, but it was not on the final bill. Overall, very worth the trip and certainly a great experience, recommended 5/5 with a few notes.
