“I visited O-Ku in Charlotte for the first time on Monday night between 4pm-7pm. On Mondays and Wednesdays between 4pm-7pm all sushi is half off except for the kouyou and hot & heavy rolls. This deal is for dine-in only!I ordered the spicy tuna crunch, mermaid, and spider rolls. The spicy tuna crunch roll was meh and nothing special. Just a typical spicy tuna roll with tempura crumbs on top.The mermaid roll was spectacular and super tasty. I loved the tempura batter on the outside which gave it a nice crunch and all the ingredients inside paired really well together. 10/10 sushi roll. The spider roll was not like any spider rolls I have had in my lifetime. I really like the salmon on top of the spider roll. Overall, a really yummy and tasty roll. Also, a 10/10 and would 1000% recommend!.The ambiance was really nice and service was incredible. Although, I did not order a drink, the drink menu looked really good! They have other locations in other cities like Raleigh, NC, so go on their website and see if there is a O-ku near you! Give this restaurant a try!“
“Top notch experience and delicious poke bowls!Excellent, fresh and delicious ingredients. Superb customer service.Add as many toppings as you want!I took the whole family and they all really enjoyed it.I built my own bowl with tuna and salmon- spicy mayo- wow it was SO good! They guys had excellent customer service. The restaurant was very clean. My family and I will certainly be back!If you like poke- you’ll love this place!Just make sure you double check that you’re but trying to go at their unusual closed-for-lunch time!Parking: Large free parking lot for the whole strip mall.“
“Every single time we dine here we are treated so well. All the servers are very attentive and never seize to impress me how much they know about the cuisine. We are avid sushi eaters from the west coast. We know good sushi. Trust me when I say we savor every bite!“
“The service is fast and amazing, the waiter food suggestion was fantastic. The quality and flavor of the sushi was great. I spent 15 usd and was more than enough. My favorite sushi place so far in the areaParking: Big Parking lot , you wont struggle for parking“
“Ah man it’s a very unique experience w unique cuisine. A blend of spices an herbs that sets the food apart. Would highly recommend. Not to mention the staff in general is very courteous and they are there to please. Will definitely return. Sincerely , Andrew C.“
“My food was great. The portion size for my hibachi bowl (chicken) was so large. They give plenty of meat. My crab rangoon was nice and large too. I would recommend their ginger dressing for your hibachi bowls. It is so good. My food was only $19. Parking wise be prepared to parallel park. I will be back.“
“The service here is great, both quick and friendly. The food is authentic and traditional. If you want Japanese food, this is where you get it. The food is reasonably priced, considering how good it tastes. I would definitely recommend as a family experience if you have older kids, as the small building would not accomodate for super loud noise.Dietary restrictions: If you are vegetarian or dairy free, their menu can accommodate for that naturally since a lot of their dishes do not have dairy. Also, since many dishes are rice-based, gluten intolerance may be accommodated for as well. If you have Celiac's though, I'd contact the restaurant since they do have wheat noodles in their ramen and I'm not sure if they have gluten free soy sauce.“
“Great sushi, bento boxes and kids meals. Our service was great and the crazy roll were flavorful. The ginger dressing was fresh and the miso soup was one of my favorites. Our table ordered a variety and were glad to try hibachi and teriyaki entrees. We look forward to more to try.Kid-friendliness: Different options to try“
“I defiantly would like more flavor in the food and maybe shouldn’t have ordered tempura style veggies. I envisioned something else in mind and the batter on the veggies filled me very fast. I ended up giving up on the veggies and went for my sushi roll which was delicious. I love Sake and the bartender recommended a nice smooth one for us. I will go check out other locations in town.“
“The chicken katsu sandwiches are very good. The crispiness on the chicken and the soft bread are a winning combination. My only critique is they come with more mayo than I would like. Wish there was a way to ask for less on the online ordering.“
“Best poke bowl in Charlotte, jokes asideI’ve been trying poke bawl / sushi for more then a year everywhere around Charlotte. This place is the best place you’ll find, trust me.I can post many pictures of the food I had here but I’ll show you one with my empty bowl ? because it is so good I finished it before I realized I could have shared with you.Love the customer service, food is simply delicious, atmosphere like home, clean and tidy ?Recommend ????? 5 stars“
“As a Seattle native and recent transplant in CLT, Miku is my go-to spot for sushi. I’ve had the pleasure of dining a handful of times and it never disappoints. The staff is friendly and the ambience is inviting. The restaurant is very clean and organized. In my opinion, Miku’s overall quality & value easily beat out the competition - Red Sake. I’ve recently moved further away from Miku, but I will continue to make the drive for some great sushi!“
“Very welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. Upon first impression, you get the instant feeling of a Japanese style type of Speakeasy. Food was very well prepared and tasted wonderfully. Plates and chopsticks, although not the biggest factor, were of good quality and design. Wonderful staff and the owners seem to be down to earth people with the hunger of making their place one of the best in Charlotte. Overall, I was very pleased on their soft opening that I told them I would be returning the following week to pay my thanks.“
“Ally has excellent customer service, she knows the bar from back to front, and she could immediately tell me what's on special from day today. Ally is an exceptional asset to have as she made my experince very comfortable and feel at home. Thank you Jiya for great service! ??“
“Ordered hibachi chicken and teriyaki chicken, veggies and fried rice. It is a small restaurant so it's best to do takeout. The food was delicious and I will be ordering from there again. The cleanliness score was great and that means a lot. I took home one of their menus so I can call ahead next time. Might try the Pad Thai with peanuts next time. There are Chinese, Japanese and Thai options available.“
“I visited from SC for my birthday. And the moment I walked in until the time I left everything was amazing and beautiful. The food was very tasty.I had the sweetheart roll and that was delicious and the shrimp and veg app. The host Aruella she was very generous and kind and she made sure I felt welcomed, very nice person. My server Dustin,,,, he was amazing he recommended the best drinks and also made my 1st time visit amazing....you want be disappointed AT ALLLLLL“
“We were so impressed with our meals here! Everything was so flavorful and delicious. We had the….Summer rolls - crisp, fresh and had a great dipping sauce.Chicken fried rice - delicious, perfect rice texture and amazing flavor. We all wanted another order!!Panang curry with chicken - Outstanding! So flavorful and fresh.Beef pho - broth was great! We highly recommend and can’t go wrong with ordering any of these items!!! ❤️“
“Masa sushi is my go to place for Chinese food. The rice is always cooked to perfection, the ladies at the front are always courteous and my food is always on time. I gave them a 4 in atmosphere due to the small space. There aren’t many table but it’s okay for me because I only order takeout. Every dish that I’ve tried I loved except for the Lo mein noodles, to me they are too dry. The fried rice is superior to any fried rice I’ve had in the area. Lately, I’ve been getting the honey and sweet&sour chicken. The sauce comes on the side and the chicken pieces are small and crunchy. If you get a combo, it comes with a spring roll or egg roll. The spring roll is crispy with a peppery cabbage filling that pairs well with these sweet and savory dishes.“
“SushiHana impresses with its delicious sushi spread and diverse menu. The all-you-can-eat option is a fantastic highlight, allowing you to sample a wide variety of sushi rolls and other dishes without breaking the bank. The fresh fish and beautiful presentation remain consistent, even with this generous offer. The prompt and friendly service further enhances the dining experience, making SushiHana a top choice for sushi enthusiasts looking for value and quality.“
“Wonderful sushi and great hot food options. My favorite is Spicy Thai Basil chicken and for sushi I love the Red sake roll as well as the Phoenix roll. The staff is awesome. Have followed Steve and Yisa from Wild East Bistro and happy they are so close by! Give them a try!“
“I have always been interested in trying a sushi burrito after seeing them across the internet in past years. So, when I came across King Fish Poke, it seemed like the perfect place to try to them out! I ordered the Braveheart sushi burrito and added avocado and seaweed salad. Everything was super fresh and tasted great! It's not super functional so I would probably stick to poke bowls in the future, but I was happy that I got to try it out! The service was great and friendly and the food was delicious so all the more reasons to stop in here and check it out.“
“Go-to Asian food. It's quick, good, and relatively cheap. Not the best sushi I've ever had, but definitely worth the price. The entree portions are large as well. I've been numerous times for lunch and dinner and haven't found a better go-to in Charlotte!“
“Good food with plenty of options for all family members. Price to food quality ratio is good. Family atmosphere, nothing elaborate but a great, clean, and comfortable buffet restaurant with polite and friendly staff. In past year have always been able to get seated without a wait.“
“Food here is amazing, the appetizers were by far the best part of the meal. Not to downplay the rest of the menu, the apps are just that good! Service wasn't the best, but we were in a large group so understandable that things would slip through the cracks. Overall a great experience!Parking: Parking is a garage located behind the restaurant, if restaurant is on your right side, you will take a right onto side street and another right into garage. 90 minutes free parking, be sure to register your vehicle via the QR code.“
“My husband and I love this place! It was one of the first restaurants we visited in Charlotte, and we've been back many times. To start with, the cocktails are amazing! I almost always have the spicy margherita, and my husband is very fond of the espresso martini. I've also sampled the Mystic Basil and Unami Margheritas. Yum! The bartender, Aaron, is friendly and attentive, always ready for conversation if you come in alone. Even the owner, Andrew, is given to mixology on occasion. As to the food, there is definitely an Asian twist, as Japanese food is Chef Nobu's specialty. That being said, he also prepares delicious and healthy bowls with salmon or meat or just veggies. And if you ask, he will make you one of his sushi sandwiches, which are out of this world. Mimi is usually our waitress, and she's great at suggesting go-withs, including something from their thoughtful wine list. And did I mention the free parking? In a neighborhood where you think you might run out of gas before you find a spot, there's plenty of parking out front. They also have live music and DJs occasionally, and a patio out front for dining in good weather. Overall, a great dining experience!Parking: Free parking in front of the building“
“The service is good! But the food was eh. Chicken was over cooked and chewy. Shrimp was slightly burnt and had a burnt flavor. Fried rice was flavorless. Carrots seemed to be over done and didn’t match the dish. Brocolli was done good though. The calamari was okay, but was also slightly overcooked. We only got the hibachi dishes and calamari, did not try the sushi so that may have been a better choice.“
“Fast food sushi without the fast food taste. Great place in uptown to grab a few rolls to go or miso on a cold rainy day. Order ahead and it will likely be ready when you walk in. Folks working there are friendly and do a great job giving you a quick healthy meal when you're eating on the run.“
“Their sushi is quality. The cherry blossom and sexy dragon are my favorites. The owners are amazing gals who take pride in their craft. Cocktails were delicious and their sake were smooth. We had an amazing experience and loved the atmosphere.“
“Such a hard place to review because ultimately, you're going for this conveyor belt operation. And that was cool. But most of the sushi on the conveyor is basic stuff you get at the grocery store. This was our first time and we brought family that was visiting thinking it'd be something cool and different but the place in general felt old and lacked an update. The food was good but none of it was special. It is clear that this is a good lunch spot but is NOT a dinner place. Really my expectation was inflated by these social media pages blowing this place up and then walking into an old looking place with no alcohol and a cool conveyor belt. The price was spot on though! I wish we could give half stars cause this is a 3.5 but my lack of research shouldn't give a low 3 star rating! Nothing wrong with the place but also nothing special either.Kid-friendliness: My kids loved the conveyor belt“
“I always enjoy my meal here. It's yummy, fast and quality ingredients. I like that they make their own sauces in house that you can add to your kdogs, and they come in the kupbap bowls. It's also the only k-dog place I know of in Charlotte that makes their own batter fries them fresh in front of you. My favorite thing is that they have a bunch of Korean drinks to try. And the owners are really nice. The food hall itself is nicely decorated with a lot of plants and comfortable seating.“
“I order by phone especially once seeking ordering online had a $1 convenience fee. It was estimated 15-20mins. My meal was ready upon arrival. The Shrimp Hibachi was pretty tasty. I like the hibachi sauce. The eel sushi was so tiny for $6. I managed to have a steak piece mixed in. Very flavorful. I almost added steak initially. I got both hibachi shrimp and eel classic roll for under $20. Hard to find such a deal. I may be back.“
“The goat biryani presented a symphony of flavors, with tender meat and fragrant spices dancing on my palate. Paired with the Gundur chicken, the fiery kick of authentic South Indian spices left a memorable impression. A delightful culinary journey that had my taste buds savoring every bite.“
“Still my favorite sushi restaurant close to charlotte! Moved around quite a bit but everytime I'm in town I still like to visit. Great food, even better drink specials. I'm glad to see it's one of the things that hasnt changed.“
“After a 10+ year pause on Japanese steakhouses, we had a large party here for my son’s birthday. He and his friends really enjoyed the dinner. My husband and I sat at the sushi bar and ate some rolls and edamame. The atmosphere was dark and a light smoke hung in the air. This might be unavoidable with the fire and steam as part of the show, but it did bother me. They do have large fans over the cooking areas. It was very crowded also, but on a Saturday night this is probably to be expected. The hibachi diners reported the food was excellent. We didn’t realize they were going to mix the food orders and give everyone some of each others orders. My son is significantly allergic to shrimp and began coughing and sneezing and his throat tightened as soon as he started eating. He ordered steak but some shrimp was put on his plate. He didn’t eat it, but shrimp must have touched his food somehow. It would be best if the waiter asked about food allergies at the time of ordering and took careful precautions. It could be an extremely dangerous mistake to make.“
“Had the best service on our trip tonight. We were able to walk right in at 6:30pm and be sat with 4 in our group. Our server was Myrosyvana (not sure on spelling) and she was very attentive. Our Chef (Isa- not sure on the spelling) cooked everything perfectly and was entertaining. We'll be back!!“
“I have been here a few times and don’t have any complaints. It was a later lunch when we went so there wasn’t a lot of people inside. I ordered the Volcano Roll and the Edamame. Everything was so tasty and made well. The volcano roll sounds spicy with the jalapeños on it and yet it perfect.“
“I love this place so very much. Over the last several years since they have opened, they've maintained good quality food, good service, and quick order turnaround times. All this even whey they are busy which is most of the time due to the listed reasons. I love sushi, but it's one of those cusines that can add up quickly, especially if you have a large appetite like I do. Due to the fact that here, you can eat as much as you want for one fair price, it makes indulging on my favorite food possible without spending $100. Thank you Mr. Tokyo for existing!Vegetarian options: Salads and soups have no meat, and you can also modify rolls to not have fish.Parking: There's always spaces available.“
“If Janice is working- come by and chat with her! She's worth the visit! This is an average sushi pace at the airport. I was glad to have the option since I'm not a huge fan of greasy breakfast and no one was quite serving lunch at 8 am. Food (3/5): I sat down and ordered since I hate cold "grocery store sushi" They had a good selection of rolls. The southern charm was ok, the crab was real, not kani crab, which I actually prefer in my sushi. They made it in about 6 minutes, fresh, which I appreciated. Service (5/5): The real star of the show was Janice, a kind, talkative server. She single-handedly convinced several people to come and sit down at the sushi bar as was just overall super friendly and pleasant. I'm always so happy and impressed to see someone so happy at their job and bringing that joy to others. Thank you, Janice, for bringing a bit of kindness and light to my day! Ambiance (4/5): it's located in the busy concourse atrium area. Lots of light, which is nice but loud. At 9am, a piano player came to play pop favorites (like Coldplay) on piano, which was really fun, so they gained an extra star!“
“just a heads up if you order the hibachi chicken dinner and it says it comes with soup and salad you have to make sure you ask for the soup or you'll get home and will not haveit. call back and they said you have to ask for the soup even though the menu says it comes with????04/04/24“
“My wife and I both liked the sushi she ordered, but we both found the ones I ordered middling. The Pink Lady, as an example, was all lobster salad, very little avocado, and no mango. The brightness of some mango would have really cut through and made it a good roll, but without it, it was just fishy mayo and rice.“
“Ishi hasn't opened for dine in. They are carry out only and they open later in the day. We called ahead and our food was ready when we arrived. The portion size are huge. Love the carrots. I am not to certain about the beef. The flavor is off to me. So I'll stick with the vegetables.“
“Finally! Delicious hibachi in Charlotte. The sauces were really fresh and flavorful, all the vegetables had a great taste and texture, and the meat was tender. I ordered a medium, rare, filet mignon, and it was prepared more on the rare side. I thought that fifty two dollars for one entrée with one veggie roll was pretty steep pricing for takeout. The portion size were reasonable, but not large, and hibachi includes fried rice, but not noodles. Would definitely return for the flavor, less jazzed about the pricing.“
“The hibachi was really good. Best hibachi I’ve had so far in Charlotte. I got the chicken and shrimp, no carrots. But for the price you do not get a lot of meat. I asked for no carrots and still didn’t get extra veggies as a replacement. They will give you a lot of rice to make it seem like it’s alot, but me personally mines wasn’t.“
“The cashier was beautiful and so cheerful, and lady assisted her with a smile and just great energy on this rainy day. But most importantly the bowl was 10/10 plus it was a Tuesday special. I had to double back and buy 2 more for take home...yes, that good.Vegetarian options: The vegetables were cooked perfectly soft with a little crunch, everyone was so friendly“
“I love the hibachi in this place! They know how to make a really good shrimp sauce. I can't do any of the other rice bowl places in town. This one has spoiled me. It's family owned and run. I've been going here for years, never disappointed and always greeted with a smile. There's even a gitchy jewelry counter that's fun to peruse while waiting. Sometimes I find a piece of bling that really brings me joy. The food and atmosphere is a perfect pair.“
“Today I ordered for filet mignon and broccoli and scallops and carrots. The filet mignon was not as tender as I would like it and the scallops were dry. The filet mignon was dry. I do order from here from time to time and I'm usually satisfied, but to. Today I didn't like the dryness of the meat and scallops. I will order from them again. I love the carrots and broccoli.Lady C“
“The Sushi is amazing!!! I loved the Crab Rangoon, the stuffing was very delicious. I had the Sunset Roll and Smoky Salmon. Both were delicious but the Sunset Roll was veryyy delicious w/brown rice. I will definitely be ordering two Sunset rolls and crab Rangoon on my next order.“
“Have been going here since I was a little girl. The food has always been delicious. Prices barely went up during covid. Cheap hibachi and great quality for the price! Moved away for a few years but am now moving back to the area. I was praying that the place was still a hit and oh yes it was! Just as I remembered it, wonderful! We will definitely be stopping by here all of the time for a quick dinner! I have the hibachi steak with mushrooms pictured and my boyfriend had the hibachi steak with broccoli. I recommend the steak as the chicken is a little bland at times. Also the owners are very kind.“
“This is a big hibachi restaurant located in the University area of Charlotte, NC…it took way longer than expected for the chef to come but it was well worth the wait. The veggies were fresh, the meats were seasoned & well marinated & the server never missed a beat. The aesthetics were pretty nice as well.“
“I had heard that Yunta was good so we decided to give it try. It wasn’t good it was AMAZING!! The service, the food, the drinks everything was an explosion of carefully curated flavors in your mouth. The edamames were my favorite ❤️ prepare to be wowed! We Will definitely be back“
