“Wanted something fresh and different for a change. I decided to try Taste of Asia Halal! A small hidden gem nestled in Berkeley Place area. I ordered the Szechuan Chicken. It was Amazing! The dish had fresh veggies (onions, peppers, carrots, cabbage), noodles with freshly prepared chicken pieces with a touch of spice! My meal was very filling and I had plenty to devour later. This is officially one of the restaurants that I have put on my go to list! I am officially a loyal customer and will definitely be going back! ❤️“
“Our server Brendan is just fantastic. We've known him for years coming to this location and the type of service he provides, is one of the reasons we come back. Still miss that hot fish though. Me and a dozen other people I know, still comment that we can't believe that got removed, argh.“
“I was very impressed. It's hard to find good Chinese cuisine. This place is it! I will definitely be back. Shown here is "Ruby Dragon fish,Fried." I had them place the sauce on the side, with white rice. I also had hot sake and a beer. It all came to about $60 (money well spent). The waitress was awesome and attentive.“
“Ordered hibachi chicken and teriyaki chicken, veggies and fried rice. It is a small restaurant so it's best to do takeout. The food was delicious and I will be ordering from there again. The cleanliness score was great and that means a lot. I took home one of their menus so I can call ahead next time. Might try the Pad Thai with peanuts next time. There are Chinese, Japanese and Thai options available.“
“Hop Feng Kitchen is a small carry out Chinese restaurant. They don’t offer dine in but they have some chairs so you can have a seat while you wait for your food. The food and service are great! The shrimp fried rice with yellow rice is very good. The only disappointment is that they don’t have fountain drinks. They offer bottle drinks from the cooler. Even so this place is on my list of lunch options. My lunch:Shrimp fried rice- qt $10.77 with taxParking: The parking lot is small because the restaurant is on the side of the building.“
“The service here is amazing!!!! I had a door dash order go terribly wrong but the staff was super accommodating and helped me get my order right! They were also super responsive throughout the whole process. Can't thank them enough for that!“
“I really enjoyed this place. The food is tasty and the staff are extremely pleasant. I honestly got caught up talking, but I had the grilled dumplings and general tso's chicken with white rice. Everything was really great. I forgot to take pics of the food, sorry, lol. Oh, and the sweet tea is just right!! I'll be back for sure!“
“Good food with plenty of options for all family members. Price to food quality ratio is good. Family atmosphere, nothing elaborate but a great, clean, and comfortable buffet restaurant with polite and friendly staff. In past year have always been able to get seated without a wait.“
“The food here is good but not the flavor profile I am the biggest fan of. I only had the Sesame Chicken, so I will probably come back to try more menu items. The sweet tea was delicious. The egg roll wasn't my favorite but not nasty at all. The customer service was good. They are indeed busy and loved in the community. They are greeted by name, and they know a lot of the people that came in by name. Nothing was bad here. The place was very clean!“
“Go-to Asian food. It's quick, good, and relatively cheap. Not the best sushi I've ever had, but definitely worth the price. The entree portions are large as well. I've been numerous times for lunch and dinner and haven't found a better go-to in Charlotte!“
“This is our go to as of right now when craving Chinese in Charlotte. I still have yet to find a place that has that true Chinese take out taste. Taipei is always fresh and hot. They are are super friendly and we usually don't have to wait longer than 10 minutes for our order. This visit we got sesame chicken, general tso chicken fried rice and an egg roll. My boyfriend devoured him sesame chicken. Literally left nothing in the bowl. The general tso was surprisingly good. Not as spicy as I would expect and also had mushrooms which I didn't expect but nonetheless I enjoyed. Fried rice could use a bit more umph. Egg roll was okay. Wish it was a little bigger. It's a good place if the craving hits. We will be back.“
“I love this place. It is not fancy, but it is just good. Like everything. But the FRIED RICE. Omg so good. I mean look at this portion for like 8.99. Insane. It is a little dusty in the restaurant which is my only con. But it’s just too good.“
“There were multiple options (about 1/3 of the menu) for my partner who has celiac disease and the service was excellent! The staff was very friendly and we enjoyed the atmosphere. Would love to stop by again next time we are in Charlotte!Dietary restrictions: About 1/3 of the menu was marked GF“
“My husband and I have been eating at Taipei South at least once per week for the last fourteen years. The food is wonderful and so are the staff! They are always so friendly and efficient. This restaurant is a neighborhood favorite.Thank you Taipei South,John & Karen“
“Absolutely loved our meals at Soho Bistro. I had honey and walnut chicken which was to die for! Chicken and veges cooked perfectly and the sauce was delicious. Husband had a steak and shrimp stir fry which was also very nice. Fresh fluffy rice on the side. Food came out quickly and hot. Nice cold beers too. Very attentive and kind servers. We sat by the windows which was lovely to watch the world go by outside. Craving that chicken and would go again any time!“
“I Miss Mom and Pop at the A&C. Been eating there for 20 years. I too ride by Hoping that it may reopen. I understand if Mom and Pop are tired and ready to retire.NO place makes chicken the way they do.I will Always Appreciate the time I spent eating there. The food was Always worth traveling for.Enjoy your retirement Mom and Pop, y'all won't be forgotten. I wish y'all well and the Best!!Thank You So Much For Sharing Your Awesome Food With Everyone!!!!Much Love.“
“Chin Chin 2 is amazing! I’m so happy for this new Chinese restaurant in our neighborhood, I live by Albemarle rd, in the Meadowbrook park community area, and I’m so happy that this new restaurant opened close to our community. The food is very delicious, very similar in flavor to the Chinese food in New York, the young lady over the phone is very polite, helpful and takes the order very quickly! The delivery gentleman is amazing! Very polite, even though he was surrounded by my irresponsible neighbors, two pitbulls, the delivery gentleman kept calm, and delivered my food, I’m very thankful for this! As long as I live in the Charlotte area, Chin Chin 2 will continue having my business, I highly recommend this restaurant, A+++. Delicious food, fast delivery, friendly staff, the best!“
“The prices are good I’ve passed by this places millions of times and never stopped not because I’m a high class bougie man .the shrimp fried rice was great and the bbq wings are big and good they could fry the rice and use a little more seasonings “
“Really excellent American style chinese take-out spot. Sesame chicken, kung pow beef, hot and sour soup, and egg drop soup were all tasty and the food was ready extremely quickly, piping hot, and packed generously. Absolutely will return. There's no eat in option which is noted on the entry door as due to staffing shortages.“
“I stopped in there on Friday night to get supper. The food was out of this world they went above my expectations. Thank you y’all for the best food I’ve had since I moved down here in 2003. Y’all rocked my tastebuds to heaven and back. BRAVO!!!!!!“
“Let's start out with some backstory that nobody asked for. I'm a Marylander and I have lived all over the states. This means I have had various takes on Chinese food and I know what I like. This place reminds me of the Chinese food from up north. In Nebraska, we had an amazing place called Dragon Cafe that was rated in the top 100 Chinese restaurants in the US. Their egg rolls were to die for. China Palace's steamed dumplings taste identical to the ones I was addicted to at Dragon Cafe. China Palace's crab Rangoon are on the more savory side, but they taste more like what I am accustomed to, as I find crab Rangoon down here to be too sweet and lacking depth of flavor. My boyfriend tried the Happy Family and I was delighted to see that everything was cut into bite sized pieces, as it should be in any cuisine in which you are supposed to use chopsticks. The flavor was delicious. I ordered the seafood udon noodles and was impressed with the depth of flavor. It had just a hint of underlying sweetness and was savory. The shrimp and scallops were cooked perfectly. Did I mention that when we first ordered, we were given fried wonton strips and duck sauce? That's something I haven't experienced since moving down here. The staff were friendly and the tables were shiny. I'm going to check DoorDash the moment I post this review to see if China Palace is in my delivery area, because I am so tired of lackluster Chinese and I fully intend to only order from here from now on. (Of course, follow my reviews to see if this changes. Who knows, there may still be another hidden gem nearby.)“
“Unbelievable Szechuan food. A hidden gem. The menu has some authentic cuisine and some less challenging fare for those with a less curious palate.. Service is great as well.Update: Beware of takeout! Your bill will automatically be added the service fee with no option for you to make a decision.“
“Was trying to find something to eat with my dad, he suggested this place because "Panda" is the name of our dog. i told him i wanted Spanish food that was right next door, but he said Chinese food. Man at the front desk was incredibly nice, menu was kind've confusing, but other than that the food took around 10 mins to get and was 40 dollars. they give you your food in a cute little box, and when i was leaving with my food, the front desk man was so nice and then proceeded to say every way to say goodbye in Spanish as i was leaving the place. when i got home i tried the soup, orange chicken, and the fried rice, and eggrolls. And oh my lord, the orange chicken is the best chicken i've had in my life. Either that, or i was just really hungry.“
“I have found my favorite place to get my Singapore rice noodles! ? it’s tasty and they give me the right level of spice! The atmosphere has a 4 because their dining area is closed and it looks to need some small upkeep. Other than that, if you’re craving some Singapore rice noodles give them a try. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed!“
“I’ve been going there for about a year now and the food is great along with the customer service. But this young lady working the counter now is rude she has no patience and seems to have a bias.the lady before her was nice sweet and patient.“
“Love the chinese food here!! Dynamite shrimp was the dynamite of the night, one of the best shrimps ever had. Dynamite roll was fantastic with tempura battered shrimp, signature california roll, sriracha aioli and umami sauce. Hand folded crab wontons with creamy crab filling, bell pepper, green onion and spicy plum sauce was delicious. Coming to entrees, sesame chicken with noodles was my favorite. Crispy honey shrimp with fried rice was good. Miso glazed salmon with brown rice was wholesome and flavorful. Pad thai was fine as I expected little soup poured over it. Coming to desserts, new york style cheesecake and the great wall of chocolate were fantastic.“
“ABSOLUTELY GO HERE!!! me and my family have been going here for years and it is honestly a treasure. i have never had any type of problems with my food or the service before. its cheap, affordable and fast. the food is so good, packed with flavor and satisfies hunger.“
“First visit and so happy to find tasty Chinese food. Crab Rangoon is hand made, Shrimp Pad Thai is the best I've ever had with perfect noodle consistency, tamarind sauce, chunks of onion, egg, and Chinese vegetables - shrimp and ground nuts also perfect. Tried chicken and vegetables in a lemon grass sauce my husband raved about. Even the sushi was good.“
“The food was amazing. And the atmosphere was intimate and not chaotic. It was pretty packed but organized. Everything I had was soooo good. This has now became one of my favorite restaurantsParking: Parking lot pretty big. No need to worryKid-friendliness: They have everything so even if the kids don't like Chinese food, they have regular food like Mac and cheese and fried chicken.“
“This is a great lunch spot! Everything is hot and fresh and served quickly. The service is always great and they greet you at the entrance with a smile. Personally, I love their Singaporean Rice Noodles. One of my go to lunch places when I'm in the office. Highly recommend.“
“Tried this place bc it is otw home from work. Every item we ordered was delicious, great prices and the guy that takes orders was so kind and helpful! Pickup was a breeze. I like that they have hard to find items like egg foo young and lemon chicken!“
“First time having them and let me tell you ... AMAZING!!!! There's a bunch of other Chinese restaurants within 10 minutes of this one and I've tried a lot of them. The food was superb. I loved that there was actual egg in the fried rice which is the correct way. The vegetable lo mein had so many veggies and there was no extra seasoning but with just the sauce was more than enough flavor. Good portion of chicken for the sweet and sour. The crab Rangoon was actually filled nicely and no gaps or stinginess was there lol and I could actually see the crab meat. Definitely coming back!!!“
“Hands down this is one of the best Chinese restaurants I've been to and I've been to a lot. The food is so fresh and crisp, the staff is amazing and attentive and they make you feel like you're at home. Now that I'll be in the area more I'll make sure to make a stop here every trip.“
“i come here or get take out weekly. Its one of the best chinese restaurants I've been too in charlotte. the staff is warm and welcoming. the food is easily customizable. I've not had a bad meal here. i like the garlic sauce here with any meat. their spring rolls are killer good. I'm a fan of their soups especially hot and sour. it not a huge restaurant, but they have decorated it very nice. the food is always piping hot even the togo food... I enjoy it as often as I can. you should help support this mom and pop place. its well worth it.“
“Authentic feel and great tasting food, hidden gem! We enjoyed all our dishes from standard Sesame Chicken to Black Pepper Chicken and the Egg Drop Soup was amazing..The server was very friendly and offered suggestions and gave feedback on dishes (ex: Black Pepper Chicken on spicier side)Tucked away in a shopping plaza, got to try it sometime - I bet it is a good option for takeaway as well.“
“Orange chicken with plain fried rice and egg roll was delicious. Chicken was fresh and succulent with all the citrusy flavor infused within. It would be sufficient for two people as they have provided generous amount of meat.Veg Spring roll was decent enough.“
“I've ordered from this place for years. Great hot sour soup with no meat in it, they tend to get the orders correct, generous portions. When you ask for spicy, you get spicy. The decor there is so bad but the food makes up for it.Vegetarian options: Hot sour soup is meat-free.“
“Got the shrimp fried rice. You can definitely taste the MSG. This rice was good but the shrimp tasted bland. Very small sitting area but the waitress was very friendly. You can tell it is a local favorite and has plenty of regular customers.“
“This is the first spot to have food that tastes like home to me. The flavors taste fresh and not overpowering. I returned a few days/ week later to enjoy more. I do wish they took cards bc it's cash only. There is an atm nearby- our food came within the said time. The shrimp lo mein, teriyaki chicken on a stick and shrimp egg foo young are perfection. Shrimp rolls just as delicious. I didn't care for the white rice or brown sauce for the egg foo young- it has a word unfamiliar taste and unlike most places with a darker brown sauce.“
“Really good food, mid service, gets really crowded and loud on weekends. the menu boasts a tantalizing selection of classics and innovative creations. Whether you're craving the bold, fiery notes of Szechuan cuisine or the delicate balance of Cantonese flavors, there's something to satisfy every palate. Standout dishes include the savory Kung Pao Chicken“
“Very kind staff, good food, good price. The only thing I'd recommend would be to cook the veggies a little longer; the broccoli especially. Rather than being soft, it's often crunchy. But, that does not effect my 9/10 rating <3“
“There is the cutest little lady here named Amy who provides phenomenal service! I'd come back just for her tbh. She was funny, sweet, attentive, and made good drink suggestions even though that's not what we intended on ordering. She is very convincing and the food was fresh and cooked to perfection.“
“Love their food, it's the best chinese place in this area. Chicken wings, sesame chicken, chicken & broccoli, triple delight, and sweet and sour chicken are all good. Definitely a call in for take out type of place, wouldn't sit in to eat at all, looks dingy but it's good, just kinda pricey. It's by a food lion and a dollar store.“
“We haven’t eaten here for a long time but decided to try it when we had a power outage and we’re pleasantly surprised. The food is quite good, portions large, and the prices reasonable. The service is good and the servers friendly. We especially like the Pork Egg Foo Young. Everything we have tried has been really good. Their vegetables are always fresh. Fairly quiet at dinner time, but very busy at lunch as their lunch specials are very reasonably priced. I recommend trying Best China Charlotte if you haven’t been there for awhile.“
“great food. we had chicken lo mein and general tso chicken. egg rolls and some dumplings. (excuse any misspellings) I thought the general tso chix wasn't very spicy but it was good. next time I'm in, I'll ask for them to turn up the heat a little. ?️? The main takeaway is it's good food!“
“My family loves boneless rib tips and this is one of the only places that we can find around here that has them (and does them well!) Pick up at the window only but staff is always friendly. We have gotten food here many, many times over the last 2 years and we always enjoy “
“Wonderful clean buffet run by a very accommodating family. They didn’t have roast duck on the buffet available as yet when I was there but went above and beyond to make me some. It was fantastic roast duck. Their butterfly shrimp was also outstanding. So was their vegetable chowmein. I want to go back to sample much more of their buffet items. Restaurant was overall very clean also.“
“Just started coming here a month or two ago and I must say it is close to up north Chinese even better than house of Leng as far as ny style. It doesn’t have a good score due to them giving bad service years ago. I don’t think that correlates to now since there aren’t as many recent reviews. Maybe they changed. But I’ve ordered here like 6xs now & haven’t had any issues whether ordering in person or over the phone. I get the wings and pork fried rice. They give you 4 big wings. Good amount of yellow rice. The egg rolls are nasty though to me. Small and not as much flavor. Service has been good every time and portions are good too. I used to go to cottage restaurant just because it was near me but glad I found this location. Much better than China palace too. Best in university area thus far. They need delivery“
“I order Lai Lai because they deliver themselves and I've had past issues with delivery apps. It's fast, easy, and convenient. The food is always great. My order is always accurate. The food arrives hot every time, and service is wonderful.“
“Wonderful wide selection of wholesome vegan plant based good highly recommend. A cute little cozy place with large portions and a great atmosphere and friendly staff, I highly recommend this place to all especially those wanting to transition to veganism!“
