“The Beer Geek tour was very informative and a great value. If you have 3 hours and want to get a behind the scene experience of the beer making process every step of the way from water and grains and ending with finished product in packaging, this is the tour for you. The tour guide Mary did a great job explaining the process and answering questions. Additionally, all the employees we encoutered along the way were very friendly and showed great pride in their company and the immaculate Mills River facility!“

“Tried a sample of their offerings during a street fair and was waiting for them to open. Finally sat down with the full menu and absolutely loved it all! Three of us went together and got tastes from each other plates. It was all excellent - quality, taste, presentation - it was all there. Great beer and wine list and excellent dessert. “The chefs are brilliant and inspired. The service is en pointe. There are bartender crafted cocktails which are absolutely delightful. The atmosphere is wonderful... these mountains frame this farm so perfectly. The menu is delectable in its options and seasonal variability. I'm a 50 year, born here local... this is my 8th time enjoying eating here at The Silo at Horse Shoe Farm. So, this is not a one off, or a hastily performed review. I've partaken all the James Beard Asheville chefs for a while now...as well as any and all "new best thing restaurant" that comes to be. Nothing...I repeat, nothing in WNC compares to The Silo. You will not be disappointed. And if...if you are and you communicate it- they will make it right. You will have one of the best meals of your life.“

“Great view of smokie/Appalachian mountains. Came for appetizers and drinks before dinner in the main dining room. Great relaxing setting. Also got to see a wedding on the lawn below the terrace, with the mountains in the background. What a lovely romantic touch to the start of an evening.“

“Small and quaint; clean and calm old school place, a house turned into a Tavern. The staff was friendly. We did not eat so cannot rate the food but what food was prepared smelled delicious, we had a soda from a can.
We were able to play pool without interruptions. The pool table is coin operated.“

“Leigh our server was outstanding in delivering a memorable experience on our anniversary. She went above and beyond to ensure we had an incredible dinner. My wife's trout and my scallops were delicious. I actually hesitated on the scallops due to its side dish which was succotash. I didn't have fond memories of that dish when I was a kid... (lima beans) but Leigh reassured me that this was delicious. Could the side dish steal the show of the scallops? In this case it indeed did. I loved it so much I asked Leigh how they made. She actually gave me an email and the chef would send me the recipe! That my friends is service! In fact I regret booking the Dining Room at the Inn the next night and wished we had returned to the Bistro. Bravo Bistro!!“

“We stopped into Waffle House on our way out of town. Everyone was waiting patiently to be seated or order take out. During a time where we had no water, electricity or communication seeing their smiles and quick service allowed for us to have a nice meal. Nina was kind, positive and made sure we had everything we could possible need. Her nephew was hard at work making the hash browns. It made our day and we will always remember this.“

“Had the fried chicken sandwich with the serano honey (on the side - it's spicy) . Chicken was perfect...juicy and tender, breading was crunchy and very flavorful. Ordered the side of crunchy potatoes. They were great! Lovely server (Ann?) sorry not sure of name). Very nice Sunday brunch location.“

“Love the Gluten Free Options Squash appetizer, cornbread appetizer, beef and potato soup, and she crab soup all top notch to start off. Pork chop, Shrimp and Grits, Meatloaf, Trout were terrific We love Biltmore and love Village Social. It was a great night!!“
