Beer Cheese Fries

“I moved into the area back in November 2025, and went around sampling the food, drink, and mostly the ambiance and general vibe of pretty much all of the local establishments. The B-Chord has made its way to the top of my list of go-to places. Whether for full meals with friends or a couple cheeky mid-day IPS, the beautiful clean pub always has great music playing, the important games on a few screens, and most importantly a wonderful, friendly staff of folks who always seem genuinely happy to see you. Try it once… you’ll become a regular.“

Olde Hickory Brewery Brewery • $$
2 3rd St SW, Hickory - 6.71 miles

“Had to find a brewery for our day trip out to Hickory and happy we chose Olde Hickory. I loved the aesthetic of the carved out bar in the brewery. Parking was right around the corner - you could definitely miss it if you weren’t looking for it. Not a ton of parking, but it’s a pretty small bar area. I love that they had several TVs up and were playing college football and basketball. That’s a way to my heart. Everyone was very friendly. I had a flight and my wife had the Christmas Ale. I think of the four beers of my flight, I really liked one, liked two others, and didn’t love the last but beer is subjective to the taste buds of the drinker.

I’m glad we went and next time we are in town we will try to stop in again to try some more beers.“

City Walk Brewing & Distilling Brewery •
205 Main Ave NE Suite C, Hickory - 6.93 miles

“CityWalk Brewing is everything you want in a brewery—great beer, awesome people, and a laid-back atmosphere that makes you feel like a regular even if it’s your first time.

Huge shoutout to Jordan, who was both our bartender and the manager on duty. He was absolutely fantastic—super knowledgeable, welcoming, and somehow managed to keep the bar running smoothly while still making us feel like VIPs. If you're lucky enough to catch him behind the bar, you're in good hands!

The Fanny Pack Hazy IPA is dangerously good, and the Carrot Cake Stout is basically dessert in a glass. The pretzels with beer cheese hit the spot, and the whole place has a relaxed, friendly vibe—perfect for hanging with friends or just chilling on the patio.

Whether you're a craft beer fan or just looking for a great spot in Hickory, CityWalk is a must-visit. Cheers to Jordan and the whole crew for making it an awesome night! 🍻“
