“We were in Mebane visiting family and found this place through a Google search. How lucky for us! My husband (who is something of a pizza snob) said the pizza was great, my pasta was amazing, the strawberry cheesecake was worth the trip by itself. Our server, Sebastian, was super attentive, helpful and friendly. Another staff member stopped by our table and offered help, didn't catch his name, but he also super nice. VERY reasonably priced. Highly recommend!“

“Perfectly cooked, fresh never frozen Angus beef burgers. Baskets are good portion size without being skimpy or overwhelmed on the fries. The wings were very good, too. The place has the atmosphere of a classic diner and the tables and chairs were spaced far enough apart that it didn't feel crowded. The staff was friendly and service was fast. Also, the total bill for 3 adults was $32. Cheaper yet better than fast food. We loved this place and plan to go back!“

“This was our first time trying Cook Out and we were not disappointed. The person who took our order was patient and kind. The waiting time for our food was really short. We ordered 3 Cookout burgers with cheese, a banana pudding shake, onion rings, fries with cajun seasoning, fried okra, nuggets, a regular burger, a corn dog. Everything we ordered was really good and the price was in a good range. (Even my dad approved, which is really rare)

Vegetarian options: There are options on the menu that do not have any kind of meat like the fries, onion rings but it doesn’t clearly specify that it’s vegetarian.“

“First time in. I have food allergies so eating out can be challenging. Johnny came out of the kitchen to address my concerns. The food was was delicious ( fries are absolutely exceptional!) and the staff made sure we had everything we needed. It was a fabulous experience. We’ll be back. “This was our 1st time at Shak's. Food was great, service was on point, pricing in range. Very nice clean atmosphere.It was not crowded but had a lot of take-outs and pick-ups. At this time they are hiring for all positions. Good opportunity, summer job for students or anyone.Our waitress had never worked this environment and on the job to weeks. You wouldn't have known it. “Stopped for a quick bite after a meeting. Ate at the bar and Margaret was our server. She was fantastic. They were short staffed that day and she managed to take care of the bar and the food orders by running as fast as she could. The food was quite good.“

“A good hotdog spot is like a needle in a haystack; hard to find, unless you know where to look. Among my favorites in American cuisine are all-beef hotdogs. Zack's has them. They cook them fresh and sometimes will open them up and press them onto the griddle for a few seconds. I absolutely love when they do that. Every Tuesday, you can get 2 hotdogs at half the price. This is a pretty sweet place and the team here is very friendly. Truly a gem in Burlington. Happy that I live close to this one.“

“This is wonderful diner food and we get that delicious and comforting flavor everytime we have a cheat meal. We fight the urge as often as we can but recommend the gyro (chicken or regular), burger, and hot dog combos. The fries and tater tots are always hot and made to order. Portions are plentiful and the price is right!“
