“Best Hickory NC BBQ I've found. This place is small but great! They have the smoker out front so you see and smell it, it's awesome! The BBQ and Chicken are both delicious. The things that bumped it to a 4 for me is the service and hush puppies. The service is not BAD, but it's not GREAT... it's a happy medium. Granite they are always busy, but whether you are at a table or at the bar, it's about the same. They can be slow when it comes to service, but in no means is it bad. The hush puppies aren't my favorite side, but I enjoy some good hush puppies. They are a 6/10 here, again not terrible but not the best I've had. Overall this place is amazing! I am a frequent and will continue to be.“
“My new favorite restaurant in all of North Carolina. Right off 127 in Hickory, a modest building hids an amazing restaurant with some of the best fried shrimp I have ever tasted that happens to also be gluten free. Plus the hush puppies are also gluten free! I had the trifecta of Fried Shrimp, hush puppies and great tartar sauce for the first time in over 15 years since I had to go gluten free. This is no accident, the chef herself is gluten free and expertly crafts the seasoned breading by hand. She also made a killer pumpkin cheesecake with gluten free graham cracker crumbs and makes several other GF cakes that I hope to sample soon. Also the soups are GF and amazing like everything we tried! I would give this place six stars if I could. We just loved this place for the food, the great customer service and down home atmosphere! Well done!Dietary restrictions: Amazing gluten free options!“
“Hey! For the price, this place rocks! Especially if you’re a poor college student desperate for a cheap bite! The hotdog combo comes with chips and a drink at no additional charge. I ordered off of door dash for delivery, and was shocked at how cheap it still was! Usually the toppings are what makes a hotdog good, but these hotdogs themselves bring enough flavor to the party and would be quite enjoyable even if you ate them plain! Also the sweet tea is perfect! Highly recommend!“
“Great little hole in the wall diner. Great food and really friendly employees. I usually go for breakfast and get the biscuit and gravy platter with a side of bacon. I highly recommend this place if you're hungry and near Longview. It sits on hwy 64-70. The parking lot is on the smaller side so parking can be an issue depending on what time of day you come here to eat. A must try if you're in the area. 9/10.“
“Delicious bbq. Easily some of the best Piedmont style sauce I've had. The bbq is sold by the pound, and while it looks unappetizing at first all packed in the tray, it's delicious. You kinda get the feeling you're not supposed to go inside, but don't worry, you are!“
“Wow! This is a gem in Hickory. I come to town often for work and stumbled across this through the app. First impressions are HUGE, this is a big open restaurant with a nice bar in the front and open kitchen. But the smell of smoke meat hits you as soon as you walk in and it is great ! My server was Sierra and I must say I got the best service I have had in years! They explained the menu, everything is made from scratch and locally sourced! I ordered the pulled pork and the turkey breast with cheesy apples and red slaw. They also have great pickled veggies on the side. Wasn't crazy about the slow and Sierra offered a different side so I tried the greens which were spot on! It was just the right amount of attention and care. Can we just talk about the apples! Hands down one of the best comfort foods I have ever tried. Sweet and savory all at once. The pulled pork was great as was the turkey and I love a good selection of sauces and they were all excellent as well. I will be back and am even considering grabbing take out for my drive home tomorrow!“
“Just a quick update on my previous review. Still best BBQ in town and I have been back to Peddilin Pig a couple times when Willie Brooks runs out early in the evening which appears to happen a lot. So here’s some advise if you plan on going. They discontinued sausage which is a shame because it was fabulous. Call ahead if after 6:30pm to see if running low on food. Don’t order Ribs before afternoon. If you order ribs at lunch time they are good, but not really great. They have not been coking long enough and are not fall off the bone. In fact that are a little tough. Still a must visit location.“
“Stumbled upon this place while driving to Asheville for July 4th. Not the nicest looking place but def delicious! Totally forgot to take pictures because we were so hungry (sorry) but i promise we cleaned all our plates! My sister and i shared the large chopped bbq plate with a side of hushpuppies, corn nuggets, and potato salad. Everything was amazing! The portions were alright. Thought the large plate was going to be bigger but for their prices, the portions were a steal still. The corn nuggets were to DIE FOR!! 100% recommend getting them. The pulled bbq was perfectly seasoned and so flavorful. It was juicy and had some vinegar mixed in. The service was slow but it seems family owned and only had 2 waitresses. They were doing the best they can. They had a ton of phone orders as the place is really small with only 4 tables. It also looks like they are renovating. Hope to be back when we travel to western NC again!“
“I've always eaten at Hannah's on Rt. 127 with my parents whenever I was in town. I took my husband there yesterday for his first time. We both got the chopped barbeque sandwich with cole slaw and absolutely loved it! We're going to go back and grab a few pounds to take back to NJ with us! The fries were also amazing!Vegetarian options: I ordered a vegetable plate to take to my 95 year old father and he loved it! He ate every bite over two meals!“
“Everything was OK. Can't really say it was the best bbq sandwich I've ever had, but not everything was bad. I would definitely like to give it another try before firmly deciding if it's worth it or not. Staff were semi-friendly. Our waitress was good. Served us well. Could've been worse. Overall, I didn't hate it.“
“Great friendly staff. Jacob was exceptionally nice and courteous. They actually sang for my bday. It was sweet to be shown love and celebrated while there with a free piece of cheesecake. Nice time hanging out with my daughter while dining there.“
“Love this Longhorn. They are very accurate in their wait times. The food always comes out hot and delicious. The service is amazing as most of the servers have worked there for a long time. Everyone is very kind and professional. The manager Katie goes above and beyond to making my child feel special. We go here at least two weekends out of the month and prefer this restaurant over any other steak house near by.“
