Jimmy John's in Hickory

“This is a typical Jimmy John's. Someone buys a franchise and puts a couple of kids in charge of running it. Sometimes you get good service, fresh bread and a good, well made sandwich, sometimes you don't. The best time to go to a Jimmy John's is when they first open and the corporate crew is on site running the store. Then you will get a reliably good sandwich. I have been to this new store more than a half dozen times and though I ordered the same sandwich the same way, it has never been the same twice. And since I have gone in the late afternoon and evening, more times than not my bread is stale. As I said, this store seems no different than any Jimmy John's I have been to. Like franchise pizza, it's all about the money. Jimmy John's has one of the best sandwiches for fast take out when done right, and that usually requires the owner to be working behind the counter and not some minimum wage youngsters who would rather be somewhere else.“
