“I’ve been here several times, and every single time I’ve been met with exceptional service that feels like home, along with treats that somehow remind you of childhood.

But last night… last night I was devastated.

For the first time, I couldn’t make it to the shop myself. After the longest day of peopling, where it felt like everything that could go wrong did, I just wanted one of their treats. So I ordered through DoorDash.

When I saw that my order had been picked up, the photo showed the bag with my name handwritten on it, the cutest little cone drawn beside it, and a sweet little message. I looked at my husband and simply said, “It’s just the little things, you know?”

Then the order arrived.

My husband’s treat was there. Mine… mine was gone.

And this is where my disappointment actually lies: I completely understand running out of something, especially near closing time. What I don’t understand is simply refunding the item and sending the order out without reaching out to me—or at the very least letting the Dasher know so they could contact me and ask if I wanted something else.

Had someone simply said, “Hey, we’re out of this. Would you like to substitute it for something else?” I would have happily picked another treat. Instead, there was no communication at all. By the time the order arrived, all I had was a refund notification and no opportunity to choose something different.

I get it. It was near closing time. You have families to go home to and separate lives to tend to. I don’t expect anyone to magically produce something that’s sold out. But please don’t just refund an item and call it quits when there’s an opportunity to let the customer know and give them another option.

Because sometimes your treats aren’t just desserts. Sometimes they’re the little thing someone has been looking forward to after an absolutely terrible day. Sometimes they really can be the difference between ending that day disappointed or ending it with a little bit of joy.

And that’s probably why this bothered me so much. This shop has always felt like the kind of place that understands “it’s the little things.” Even down to someone taking the time to write my name, draw a tiny cone, and leave a cute message on my bag.

I’ll absolutely be back because one disappointing experience doesn’t erase all of the wonderful ones I’ve had here. I just hope that next time something is unavailable, you give your customers the opportunity to choose something else instead of simply refunding it and sending the rest of the order on its way.

Because sometimes we really, really needed that treat. ❤“

“Ice cream right in the heart of downtown Concord. The prices are great I would recommend the double scoop in a waffle cone. I had the carrot cake flavor and it was just amazing. The two young ladies behind the counter were Super Nintendo and friendly. If the family and I are out looking for ice cream this will be one of our go to spots.“

“Stopped in here after my birthday pedicure, the ice cream was so good, service was excellent, the young lady (who looks like a model) was serving by herself, she hooked us up right away and was so polite. Definitely visit this quaint, laid back spot. There's old school arcade machines and a place for small children to play. We came in mid afternoon so it was nice music playing, very relaxing and a perfect day for ice cream.“

“I had a pretty bad experience when I came in, but the assistant manager really changed the whole situation. She could tell I wasn’t happy and came over to talk to me. She actually listened instead of just brushing it off, and you could tell she really wanted to make sure I left feeling better about everything.
She apologized, fixed the issue, and even gave me a coupon for my next visit because of what happened. She definitely didn’t have to do that, but it showed she actually cared about making things right. Customer service like that is hard to find these days, and I really appreciated the effort she put in. I’ll definitely be coming back because of how she handled everything.
