“We came here and do every year because we know the food is going to be a 10/10 ..! Today didn’t disappoint! The blue crabs were as fresh as they get! Added a 1/2 llb shrimp which was also on point. We drove from Corolla to get the best. Want to add the service is also top notch and we love the atmosphere of this little place..“

“Initial service was prompt but as the place got busier it became a bit slower. They did their best to accommodate our big group on short notice. Drinks were nice especially their pineapple sake cocktails. Sushi’s were fine but Jalapeños were not spicy and did not add much heat to the sushi.“

“I recently dined at NC Coast Grill & Bar in Duck, NC. The overall experience was pleasant, with attentive service and well-prepared dishes. However, I did notice that the ingredients didn’t feel particularly fresh, more like pre-prepped items that were reheated before serving. That said, the flavors were still enjoyable, and the atmosphere was relaxed and inviting. A decent spot for a casual meal, though I’d love to see a stronger focus on freshness in the future. 3.5 stars.“

“We picked the spot for our big "family dinner" during our OBX vacation. We arrived right at the start of dinner with a party of nine. They seated us quickly and each option was better than the last. My son-in-law proclaimed the hush puppies the best he'd ever had, but the Mahi Bites and Duck Wontons were fabulous as well and the Pineapple Chutney on the Coconut Shrimp was fantastic. That was just the appetizers! Every entree was great; the Crab Cakes came highly recommended and did not disappoint. They were paired with the Filet Mignon for a great Surf and Turf. Others had the NC Shrimp & Grits and Crab Alfredo. No one was disappointed! Just a heads up that there are no reservations. We were fortunate to be seated in arriving at the start of the 5:00 p.m. Dinner Menu. The line formed soon thereafter.“

“Tried the Black Pelican for lunch during our November vacation. Nice atmosphere, good service and we loved story behind the name. Food was pretty good. Enjoyed the Hatteras style clam chowder. We didn't try them but the desserts looked wonderful. Also had a gift shop with BP and OBX things. I even found a hot air balloon puzzle box which was amazing!.“

“I have been coming to the outer banks for the past 40 years. I have passed by Spanky's many times and never stopped. This past week my wife and I stopped in for lunch when we arrived at the beach and loved the food, hospitality, and price. So good we ate there again leaving the beach. Fresh made to order food, great service, and surprisingly reasonable prices. Definitely will be on our restaurant list from here on out. I just hate we never tried it before now. Great place!“
