“I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the SaltBox Cafe. The atmosphere is pleasant, and the staff was very polite and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious, and the portion was perfect for me. My coffee was kept topped off and warm. The other patrons that were regulars had a little banter going on with the staff that just added to the charm of this little Cafe. I would definitely recommend it and will return!“

“THIS place has our hearts and tummies pleased beyond measure! My youngest daughter, Hannah, has Down Syndrome. She was treated like the princess from the beautiful staff. Each time we came into dine, they knew her name. Plus, the food is fabulously freshly made and delicious. Way to Go!!!“

“Overall, I had a mixed experience. While the porkchop had good flavor, it was unfortunately overcooked and a bit dry. However, the smashed potatoes were excellent, offering a savory complement to the main dish as well as the fried mac and cheese. The service was exceptional; the waitress was friendly and accommodating, even going the extra mile to include a generous piece of cake to make up for the dry porkchop. The atmosphere of the restaurant was delightful, especially as I dined upstairs, which provided a refreshing change of pace and offered a unique view of a small backyard through the window. Despite the culinary misstep with the porkchop, the overall experience was pleasant, thanks to the attentive service and enjoyable ambiance. Highly recommend all their deserts.“

“I posted my review on X because I honestly loved the food and atmosphere here. Everything is fried, but I think that one day a year, it doesn't hurt and I'm not going to deny myself the experience. As an appetizer I recommend the CAJUN FRIED CHEESE CURDS served with jamaican jerk aioli, it is a dish that I did not know and that my new friends invited me to try. The truth is that they were delicious, to be honest, I would have eaten the entire basket by myself. Another interesting starter is the fried pickles with ranch sauce. My friend can't eat beef, so her favorite is a chicken fillet burger that I was able to try and it is phenomenal. My selection was the FRIED OYSTERSlightly golden fried with spicy remoulade and lemon (fried oysters) more out of curiosity than anything else. They didn't disappoint me, I was already into eating everything fried. But if you don't want that much fat in a single day, there are also raw, baked and grilled oysters on the menu. Another thing I loved is that you can choose not just one, but two sides of hand-cut fries or mashed potatoes (dinner only). Another option is coleslaw (to appease the conscience). I chose the fries and macaroni and cheese to complete the American experience. The service is fast and very friendly. The prices are reasonable. Something I liked is that I ordered my drink half with sugar and half without sugar and that's how they brought it to me. I'm still not used to zero sugar, but that's where I'm at.Observation: I wanted to take my family on a Sunday at 7:45 at night but it was closed. Google says they close at 9 so this really surprised me.“

“The tostada provided an intriguing experience with its unique texture, becoming delightfully soggy with the sauce. Despite this unexpected twist, it contributed to an overall enjoyable meal. However, the real star of the show was the coconut pie; its deliciousness alone would warrant a return visit. Highly recommended!“

“This was our first visit to the OBX and we wanted a good steak dinner. We had the best steak dinner we have ever had at JK. The steaks were perfectly seasoned and grilled, as was the the rest of the meal. Our server, Mark, is a master of his craft. As a former chef for 25 years, we appreciated the quality of the food and service. JK's is truly a jewel of the OBX and we're looking forward to enjoying great dinners here in the future“

“Truth be told, I have never been to this establishment, but like most, I read the incredible story of the owner driving across state lines to deliver a last meal. I genuinely believe this deserves the utmost recognition, as kindness like this is rare. I wish this restaurant owner many, many years of success to come. I hope to one day dine here.“

“Very nice place for dinner. The server was very friendly and attentive. My husband had a ribeye steak which he said was delicious! I had a seafood special with shrimp, scallops and a crab cake. It was very good! I would recommend this place for dinner.“

“"Eat and get the hell out" is a killer slogan. Small diner with OBX charm. Fried oyster benedict was great. Decent size portions. Friendly server and good service. Place was pretty full, there were 3-4 groups ahead of us but the wait wasn't too long. First meal after a day of car camping at the beach, was a great way to end the trip. Bought a mug as a souvenir. Would come the hell back.“

“I was out of town with my kids for spring break, and we were hungry. We’re looking for something good we was route. It was real close to our hotel. I went ahead and called an order ahead for carry out. It was right on time. Wasn’t running late, ready as soon as I got there. There are a lot of sales around, but only some are in my opinion traditional cells, pizzas, and this place was authentic. The staff was so nice and the food was delicious. It is located right on the beach road mile 10 it is definitely worth the trip and it is definitely worth the price!“

“This was our second visit to the Beachside Bistro - once in October, and again in late November. We found the food to be excellent! We did breakfast in October and brunch in November. The breakfast burrito (a regular breakfast item) and a selection from the new brunch menu - smoked, pulled pork over fried grit cakes with bourbon bbq sauce are our favorites so far! This hidden gem is well worth a visit!“

“I'm so glad I found this place. Great setup and vibe and the pizza is legit. I'm from NY and I'm a pizza snob, this is one of the best thin crust bar pies I've had. Matt and Bo are very friendly and very cool to chat with. I highly recommend this spot.“

“My girlfriend and I were craving some good pizza but all places were either closed or opened way later in the day, so we decided to stop by Max’s.To start off, the atmosphere was great. We came around 3PM ish on a Thursday and there was only one other person in the restaurant, so it was very casual. We were sat and served within 15 minutes with delicious wings, pizza & beer. The service was great, and the pizza was exceptional. I am from the PA/NY area and finding good pizza in general is tough, but this exceeded expectations. If you are looking for a very affordable, fast dining experience with excellent food while on vacation in OBX, this is the spot for you!“

“I was greeted the moment I walked in. The hostess was super sweet and friendly. The waitress was super sweet and was very attentive. I ordered an appetizer and wasn't sure what I really wanted for an entree. (There were some good choices on the specials to choose from.)The gator bites came out nice and hot, and I didn't have to wait long at all.I finally decided on an entree listed on the specials. I was not disappointed.I would definitely recommend and come again!“

“My family and I always enjoy ordering pizza from here, when we come on our annual beach trip! We just ordered food the other day, on two separate days and occasions actually, and the food was delicious as always! We have been ordering pizza from here for the past 4-6 years when we come, and it never disappoints! We also LOVE their Garlic Knots!“

“Some of the best food on the entire OBX (wish we'd come here the 1st day instead of our 6th day here). Native Texans & self-professed BBQ snobs, this place is off the chart exceptional. We sampled it all, and had a hard time choosing (we ended up with the ribs and pork, but it was a tough choice, we'd tasted the turkey and smoked tuna and those were phenomenal as well. If we'd had longer on the island we would have come back for those). Hush puppies are a treat in themselves (get extras because you won't want to share!) And don't leave without the collards and mac & cheese, homemade and doesn't disappoint. On top of the fantastic food, the owner chatted with us for a bit and was an all around great guy. Would recommend this place, hands down, over every other place in the OBX.“

“A must! Everyone was absolutely friendly! Clean! You are guaranteed to enjoy deliciousness! Super customizable with vegetarian options! I ordered a regular and my husband ordered a large bowl. You fill up with whatever meat, veg, and sauce you want. They cook it on a giant grill and it’s brought out to you when it’s finished! We also ordered a gyoza appetizer! On point! Had egg drop and miso! Tasty as heck!If you’re not sure what to do, they explain the whole process so no need to be anxious!“

“Easter breakfast was our first time at Henry's. It was by far one of the best breakfast experiences we've had. From the moment we walked in the door we were made to feel like family. Christina couldn't have been more accommodating...making sure everything was to our liking, without being overbearing. And it was the little things that mattered. May sound silly to most, but having syrup on the table for your flapjacks...when ordering hot tea, they bring you a cup of hot water, a tea bag, PLUS a silver container of hot water to place your "used" tea bag in, should you desire another cup of tea. Also, creamer was right on the table. The menu even made sense...build your own omelet.....you pay for what you want! It seemed like all the Employees chipped in. I never saw anyone just standing around. We will certainly be back, and refer folks we know to Henry's. Thank you.“

“All you can eat seafood and steak buffet, food was delicious and had many options to please everyone. Forgot to take pictures because I was so excited over eating. Ribeye was delicious option also if anyone isn't a seafood fan. Service went above and beyond and atmosphere was nice yet casual. Definitely recommend!“

“Our first time in Outer Banks. A guy on the beach recommended this place. Definitely glad we listened to him! Food was great. We had to wait nearly 45 minutes and the food was a bit pricey. My fried flounder was a little over cooked but the shrimp was amazing. Platter #2 was really good as well. Not the absolute best seafood we've had but I would definitely go back.“

“My family enjoyed their dinner very much. This place is very neat & tidy. My pick up order was packaged very well and I really appreciate this kind of detail. We had 2 cheese pizzas, 2 orders of wings, & 2 orders of fries and everything was great. I loved their cheese pizza and the way it was cooked!! My only recommendation on behalf of my husband is a little bit more sauce on his hot wings.“

“Best little breakfast deli in the OBX!!! Me and my fiancé come here almost every morning every time we visit the outer banks, and the food is always amazing and not over priced like a lot of other places around here. We've also come here for lunch too, and i love their fried seafood baskets, i particularly like the fried oyster basket, they definitely give you your moneys worth in food. There's not really anywhere to sit inside since it's more of an in-and-out type of place, but they do have picnic tables right outside that we sit at when it's nice outside. The people working here are also always so nice and welcoming, which always makes us wanna come back too. This place is 10/10 and I rave about it to everyone.“

“First 2 restaurants we tried to get into were lines out the door. Then tried here and were seated with only a brief wait. Plenty of empty tables, so I suspect staff shortages. We let our waitress, Shari, help us order and she did not steer us wrong at all. Fun atmosphere, fun staff, great food.“

“I haven't eaten at Capt. George's in quite a few years, but my wife had never been & really enjoys seafood, so we went to the Outer Banks location as we were in the area for vacation. The seafood was pretty decent for a buffet menu (with only a very few exceptions). They also offered several non-seafood items that we sampled that were also pretty decent! It's not an inexpensive place ($50 for adults), but if you enjoy a variety of all-you-eat seafood and dinner/dessert choices (my wife & I are not big portion eaters, but we do love variety!), it's honestly not too bad of a deal on special occasions!). I will say that our servers (we visited twice during our vacation) were very well trained and very professional, friendly, and attentive! They are also well dressed, and the management is smart enough to have plenty of wait staff assigned to small dining sections so they can focus on good customer service without being overwhelmed by many customers! All-in-all, I'd say if you've never been before, it's definitely a decent place to try!“

“We had dinner last night. As a 15 year + customer, I can see the new owners changes. Food slipped a bit - the tuna special was good, but was a cheaper cut of fish than in prior years, and grits and salsa were really mashed potatoes and oil. Atmosphere slipped - Cheesy paintings on the walls instead of classic rock and blue album covers, and most annoying - blaring Country and Western Music. In 15 years, I barely noticed the music - but you gotta be kidding me - the place is loud already and personally, constant C&W music annoys me. Also, the iconic specials chalk board is replaced by cheesy TV screens. The place lost its vibe, and food is declining. I will try it again, but no longer my favorite restaurant.“
