“Stopped in for dinner with family, we expected a wait since it was Easter vacation..but even with that it was only a 20 minute wait. Seated upfront.. our server was very friendly, professional and helpful.. a basket of delicious hush puppies were brought out, only issue was for 4 of us we were fighting over who would eat more than 1..since only 6 hush puppies brought out for 4 adults , if it wasn't so busy I would had requested another basket. And would had paid extra if needed" they were that good".. they were definitely the best on the beach I've tried . The meals were fried shrimp a little greasy but tasted really good and a baked potato hit the spot, I opted for a salad with yummy ranch dressing, it was fresh and a nice portion. We had seafood sampler fried and the other broiled which the others seemed to really like, also a broiled combo with scallops, shrimp flounder which tasted delicious and a small medallion sized crabcake ..that crabcake was the only thing not really enjoyed..had a fishy odor and though it did not have a lot of filler it just tasted off ( this could be because crabs aren't in season right now and we knew and expected they are made with frozen. ** As locals we knew that may be the case, and I'm certain in the summer months they are excellent..now as for the desserts they were to die for.. chocolate cake wow! It could had fed 3.. the cheesecake also a must try..in general this was an excellent place to come in for a wonderful OBX style seafood meal.. prices are comparable to everywhere.. I highly recommend checking out but also suggest if you want to get a good seat and have it more low-key dinner..go early. bon appetit ""“
“Been dieing to go here and with a foggy night here on the OBX, not much open on Tuesdays and said, tonight's the night. Had the blackened tuna and the blacken shrimp tacos. This food is off the hook delicious. Fresh caught tuna and more than you can even think of eating. What a great take out meal. They just moved the list of top places here on the island. Great people too!“
“Mama kwans welcoming and friendly. My wife and our dog were able to sit outside. They offered a dog bowl with water too. The nachos were fantastic and the fish tacos were great! That white sauce was phenomenal and not overdone. Our Chicken sandwich was a little late to the party but after we split the nachos and tacos it was enough for two. We took the big kahuna to go and would absolutely return.“
“This was our second visit to the Beachside Bistro - once in October, and again in late November. We found the food to be excellent! We did breakfast in October and brunch in November. The breakfast burrito (a regular breakfast item) and a selection from the new brunch menu - smoked, pulled pork over fried grit cakes with bourbon bbq sauce are our favorites so far! This hidden gem is well worth a visit!“
“Overall pretty good. The fish I had was overcooked but had good flavor. Our server was not rude but not friendly either. She was responsive and attentive which is what matters most. The house Old Fashioned was tasty and we took dessert to go, carrot cake and peanut butter pie, both delicious. Just a pretty good beach spot.“
“Had dinner with friends a month ago, everyone had a seafood entree and were very pleased! Food, service and atmosphere outstanding!However today's breakfast with the wife exceeded all expectations! Ham and Cheddar omelet special and french toast were excellent! But the service from Cristina was a 10/10. What a treat she is!!“

“The bartender Chris greeted us and made us feel welcomed. Very nice guy! He recommended the Ahi Poke Nachos and it was delicious!! My husband ordered the lobster and crab grilled cheese with fries as a side. I tried both and it was also delicious. I ordered the steak noodle bowl and the flank steak was cooked perfectly and it was tender. Very good! Definitely would recommend these items. Cant wait for our next visit in 2024.“
“Vegan options were so tasty. Also I love their French fries. I know I shouldn't judge a place just on their fries but they're seriously so good. Good beer options and local sodas. The atmosphere is also nice and not cramped.Vegetarian options: Their vegan or vegetarian options are great.“
“Great atmosphere. I really like the whole surfer thing. Lots of old relics liter the bar. Service was good. Place was rather empty so seating and parking was a breeze. We got their wings and they were awesome. I liked the sweet sauce (there was a hint of spicy) but the char was what made it. Good selection of local craft beers as well.“
“All you can eat seafood and steak buffet, food was delicious and had many options to please everyone. Forgot to take pictures because I was so excited over eating. Ribeye was delicious option also if anyone isn't a seafood fan. Service went above and beyond and atmosphere was nice yet casual. Definitely recommend!“

“Our first time in Outer Banks. A guy on the beach recommended this place. Definitely glad we listened to him! Food was great. We had to wait nearly 45 minutes and the food was a bit pricey. My fried flounder was a little over cooked but the shrimp was amazing. Platter #2 was really good as well. Not the absolute best seafood we've had but I would definitely go back.“
“Best little breakfast deli in the OBX!!! Me and my fiancé come here almost every morning every time we visit the outer banks, and the food is always amazing and not over priced like a lot of other places around here. We've also come here for lunch too, and i love their fried seafood baskets, i particularly like the fried oyster basket, they definitely give you your moneys worth in food. There's not really anywhere to sit inside since it's more of an in-and-out type of place, but they do have picnic tables right outside that we sit at when it's nice outside. The people working here are also always so nice and welcoming, which always makes us wanna come back too. This place is 10/10 and I rave about it to everyone.“
“I live in Virginia Beach. I can say this is way better than Virginia Beach, in terms of food quality etc, their seafood is not at all salty unlike the one in Virginia Beach, which is my favorite part in this Captain George location in NC. I want to come back here again even tho its quite a drive for me“
“First night in OBX. Decided to try Jolly Rogers. Awesome choice! Food was excellent from the salad to the entrees. I had the Shrimp Parmesan - can't believe how good it was. The side of spaghetti with marinara was really good even though the garlic wasn't chopped up as fine as I would have liked. My husband had the veal Parmesan and it tasted amazing. Michelle, our server, was the best even though it was her first day. Would suggest that new servers get a little more training on the menu before putting them out there. I felt bad that she didn't know more about the food.Still it was well worth the visit and started our vacation off with a bang! See you again soon!“

The prices are a bit on the high side and the atmosphere was crowded and loud; not the best "date night" choice.We ordered the famous cheesesteak egg rolls which were one of a kind and deliciously gooey. The entrees were both yummy too. Overall a good restaurant, but didn't *quite* live up to the hype for us.“
