The clam chowder was amazing, had great local flavor that beats out the heavy new england clam chowder for one of the best soups of your life.The fish taco special also was an insanely good deal, I've never seen each taco contain an entire delicious fish. “My large family and I visited the Cockeyed Clam during our holiday stay at the Outer Banks. There were 18 of us including 2 young children. We were quickly accommodated despite the size of our group. The waitstaff was excellent. Our drink and appetizer orders were taken almost immediately. Appetizers ordered included flash fried Brussel sprouts, oysters, and shrimp. They were all delicious. I especially enjoyed the brussell sprouts. They were cooked to perfection, not greasy at all, served on a delicious bed of shredded cabbage and carrots and served with a super yummy dressing. Our food came out in a reasonable amount of time and was hot when we got it. Everyone loved their entrees. I am not a seafood lover so I ordered the Tuscan Chicken on pasta- it was creamy, flavorful, the chicken was tender and moist and the portion was generous. Enough that it made a fabulous lunch for the next day. Many of us ordered the specialty cocktail, so yummy that many were ordered! We will definitely be returning on our next visit to the area.“
“What a great hidden gem. From the outside it looks like a dive but on the inside you will find great food. My buddy says the best hamburger he ever had. Me, I get the fish sandwich of the day. Reasonable prices and great drinks. Don't pass Pops up.“

“Having a crab boil at our wedding was so fun and one of the many highlights of the night! Everyone commented on how delicious the food was and OBX Boil was not only super responsive, but very flexible with the changes I asked to make during the planning process. There was one mix up with the vegetarian boil and they were so kind to try to fix it on the spot just to make sure everybody was happy. I would use OBX Boil again and again for our catering needs.“
“We stopped at Frisco Bay Coastal Grill before heading home and wow was the food absolutely fantastic!! We had the fish bites, duck poutine, steamed shrimp, and pizza Mexicana. This was one of the BEST meals we've had on the island. will absolutely return frequently when vacationing in Hatteras!!“

“First of all, Laura was an amazing waitress. Very attentive, great recommendations, amazing personality. The food was delicious and the plates were hearty including appetizers. We ordered the seafood nachos and scallop and mahi pasta. Both were so good and easily fed 2 people. Drinks were smooth and went down easy. Oceanas Bistro has my highest recommendation.“
“The best food on Hatteras Island. The seafood was perfectly prepared and the best hushpuppies ever. They have perfected handling of short staffing. Ordering at the register allows the lone server the ability to get food out as fast as it's prepared. The cashier/bartender was wearing many hats and helping with drink refills. I highly recommend, it is worth any wait.“
“We had a group of 12 during the off season. No wait for seating. The waiter was nice and competent. I didn't even mind the 18% gratuity, because of the large party. However, it would have been nice if they could have split up the check between the parties. It also would have been nice if they had offered dessert.“
“Our favorite lunch spot since we began vacationing in the Outer Banks around a decade ago! The food is always consistent(ly amazing), the staff is super friendly and attentive and you never are in need of something. Decor is super funky and there is no shortage of things to look at! We love the fish tacos, shrimp and corn chowder, and the house-made tuna salad! We try to get there early as this places gets PACKED as the shift goes on, especially as more families head off the beaches to look for food. But if you do have to wait for a table, it is super worth it!!!!“
