“Got lost and somehow ended up In Waynesville and this diner. It will be the highlight of our 2 week road trip!Food is delicious with the biggest portions I've ever seen. Staff are incredible.Had the pleasure to sit next to the town mayor and his wife who were absolute gems sharing with us about the area.Such friendly and sweet people in this town, worth a visit, especially this establishment.“
“We chose Maggie’s Galley on the strength of the reviews. And it did not disappoint! The wait was only 15 minutes and while we waited, Anna made me a spectacular margarita with my favorite tequila, Patron Silver! Very good. She got the rest of the drinks—very nice wine list, and we were seated! Cody was our server and he greeted us warmly and brought water. We had several questions which he handily answered and made a few suggestions. Among the four of us, we sampled the seafood chowder (very good!), fried shrimp and flounder, seafood lasagna (outstanding!), grilled grouper, dinner salad (very fresh and the ranch dressing—yum!) crab cakes (excellent ) and twice baked potatoes (best I’ve ever tasted!) As you might imagine, we didn’t have room for dessert! The prices were very good. This was an excellent choice for a Monday in Waynesville! We highly recommend Maggie’s Galley!“
“Low Tide offers a basic menu of seafood (fried, grilled, or pan-seared), and steaks. There are appetizers. Beer, wine selections. Salads. Sides.Very casual atmosphere. Clean and with a good sanitation score of 100. Friendly staff. Prices are on the higher side considering it's so casual but they aren't too pricey all things considered.I ordered a salad with grilled shrimp. I'm super picky about seafood--if it's not fresh looking/tasting, I won't eat it. This shrimp was plump and juicy and fresh tasting. Not overcooked. Not under-seasoned. The house wine Pino Noir I had was surprisingly good for a house wine. My friend had the filet medallions and they were tender and tasty. The food arrived at a reasonable time considering how busy they were.Better either go very early, or wait and see what happens. I was really surprised to see how crowded it was at 5, which I thought was super early as people had been arriving since 4--we snagged the last parking spot. It calmed down about 6:30 but was still hopping busy. Note that there are limited hours of 4PM to 8PM, which is a bit early for dinner hours (well, the 4PM is) but if you don't mind that, head on over and grab a seat: indoors or outdoors.I'll go back.“
“I see a lot of people writing bad reviews without ever trying to talk to the restaurant first. I guess passive aggression is just the good ole southern way down here, but i find that way of “resolving” conflict to be repulsive.My first experience ordering takeout wasn’t great, but I spoke with the manager and asked her to remake my meal. She did and it was one of the best dinners I’ve ever had. People- if you’re gonna write a bad review, the very least you could do is give them the chance to make it right. “My husband and I were on a short anniversary trip this past weekend staying at Jonathan Creek Inn and wanted to find another nice local restaurant for dinner. This was the best place we could have chosen after a big disappointment at another local place the night before. I wish we had gone here the first night because we definitely would have come back the second night. The fried green tomato appetizer was AMAZING! It is served on a bed of grits and oh so delicious. My husband had the full rack of ribs and I had the hamburger steak. The ribs were fall off the bone tender and delicious. My hamburger steak was really good smothered in onions, mushrooms and gravy. Our server, Justin (I believe) was very nice and helped me decide between the meatloaf and the hamburger steak, giving me information on both. We took our dessert of Key Lime pie back to the room and enjoyed later which was also very good. The atmosphere is super cozy. We were asked if we would like to sit by the fireplace (of course we would!). We enjoyed watching the little train go back and forth up along the wall where there is a cute Christmas setting with lights. This is a great place to enjoy and delicious meal. We will definitely be back.“
