It's been a little challenging in Western North Carolina to get my Tex-Mex fix that I've been born and bred with.Today I got a taste that made me clean my plate, I mean scrape up every last bit with a chasing chip.The lunch specials were varied with interesting possibilities. I think I asked for something off the beat path a little but the server was gracious and made it be perfect as ordered. “My daughter came for a visit and wanted to eat somewhere "downtown". I told her that McDowell Local has good food so we went there. I like that many of their ingredients are from local farmers. I have been in a few times prior but have to say the service that Kelen gave us today was the best I have had there. She was super informative about the menu and the ingredients that we had questions about and checked on us the right amount and was very nice. “Foods amazing. Be prepared to wait as your order is prepared freah and most importantly order extra. You will want extra hushpuppies extra chicken. It's great. Literally my only complaint is that it takes a MINUTE to get your food. As I said they make it fresh and they are usually very busy.“
