“I planned a post funeral for the attendees who traveled to Raleigh from out of town. Since the time was for 3 PM on a Tuesday afternoon we got the area that can also be sectioned off from the rest of the restaurant, although in our case it was not. It did not need to sectioned off as the restaurant was not busy at this time. Lesan was our server and he was great. Energetic, friendly, quick with a smile and a master of the menu details. Our group was a mixture of different age groups but we love to talk and laugh. Lesan blended in seamlessly.“

“What an all around amazing night at Second Empire! Our family gathered there to celebrate our son's wedding. The personal service the bride and groom received was way beyond expectations. Everyone made them feel so special! From start to finish, the evening was exceptional. The food was so yummy and there were even options for those in our group, myself included, who were vegan/vegetarian. And it wasn't just a salad. Just ask the server! Ours was well versed in what the chef could prepare for us. The presentation of the food to our party of 13 was also super cool...they brought out all of the entrees at once! Also there is an elevator to help those with mobility issues. Thanks to everyone for helping to make this special day even more special!“

“Fabulous service at the bartop. Roy's recommendations were impeccable and considerate of dietary restrictions. The food was outstanding and wine pairings complemented well. Highly recommend sourcing from the starters and sides to get the most variety, unless you wish to commit to the steak or full entree. Oysters and acorn squash were a great combo. I appreciated the ability to do a GF dessert (elevated ice cream sundae!) to top off the night. Thank you!!“

“Went here for lunch with a buddy of mine. All the food was outstanding and our bartender, forgot her name, was awesome in every aspect. We started with the Spanakopita. These were amazing. A little more soggy than I’m used to, but still really really good and the green goddess sauce was a really nice additive. My main meal was the Black Bean Burger, which I don’t typically go for. The flavoring was extraordinary for a bean burger. I also got the carrot ginger soup, which was perfect for fall weather, it was awesome! I also got the Barbacoa Crunchwrap. This was good. It didn’t blow my mind though because I got it to go and so it wasn’t fresh out the kitchen when I got to have it, but again it was still good! Lastly I got the goat cheese beignets, which were also good. I would definitely recommend this place to people.“

“Excellent service and food quality! We had cocktails and a light appetizer while waiting for a table. Then once seated, the two of us ordered: three small plates, one large plate, and a dessert all to share. The timing was perfect. Each item came out separately, with an appropriate pause in between. We were not rushed or overwhelmed. Staff was very attentive without ever being anywhere close to overbearing.“

“I can see why this restaurant was on the Michelin Guide for Raleigh. The ambiance when you walk in, is so cozy. However, the food was AMAZING. All the flavors were there. The yellowtail crudo had to be my favorite dish. The rice cake they put on top is to die for, and dipping it in the yellowtail was chefs kiss. The catfish was their special and it was perfectly lightly battered and fried! Cocktails were unique and held lots of flavor. Definitely ask the waitress or waiter about the speakeasy, you’ll need a key to go! The service was 10/10, a great date night“

“Great date night resteraunt. Service was fast and friendly. Food was fresh and delicious. The restaurant was quiet enough for conversation. The radio was not blasting and the tables were not too close. Restrooms were nice and clean. Its a but pricey but well worth it.“

“Everything was amazing. The old fashioneds are still the best we’ve ever had. And I tell anyone who will listen about the brussel sprouts. We usually come for lunch so we often only get Brussels and sliders but the last two times we tried the featured burger and lemon risotto. The lemon flavor was subtle perfectly balanced and complemented the salmon I added. I am hoping to come back and have it again very soon. The service is always great and one of the main reasons we come back. Everyone has always made us feel welcome and often remember us. We don’t come in enough to be considered regulars but we are always made to feel that way. Be sure to make a reservation. It’s a small restaurant and we always see it fill up fast especially for lunch.“

“Man, I had to revise this review. Love their crab cakes, but man, I just can't get enough of their NY Strip Steak. Perfect medium rare and that incredible char on the outside of the steak, yum. The Mac and cheese side might be the best I ever ate.
These folks make the BEST crab cakes in Raleigh. Prime rib is delicious.“

“Michelle was a pleasure! This place has only had a couple owners since opening in 1984. Kid friendly lunch spot, they also serve brunch! Patty Melt was delicious and so was the Cowboy Burger. Ordered a single pancake and it was almost as big as the plate! We will definitely be coming back, good value for the prices.“

“Good selection of beers on tap or in can, including a house IPA. The inside dining room is small and outdated, but the balcony overlooking the lake is where it's at. Additionally, I have tried several dishes (pizza, Philly cheese steak, Rachel) and all of them are top notch.“

“So my first take on the place is really nice. The atmosphere is good. You can sit outside, enjoy things and they have a booth and they also have a bar. Where you can sit at the counter and eat there and see the many different beer.. if you also a type and don't what beerl you want, you can get something that's called a flight. And it's like a big shot glass, we'll a little bit bigger, with 4 different types of beer flavors. They menu is scan with phone for drinks and food. So they open up at 11 o'clock everyday. They only do breakfast like brunch on the weekend, thst is Saturday and Sunday. So in addition to the brunch on Saturday and Sunday, you can get the regular menu too. I had some of the appetizers.The honey barbecue wings are delicious. Their pork pot stickers are really good as well. Then they have like a moroccan meatball appetizer, fried calamari. I finally got to taste the salmon. It was overcooked by maybe 3 minutes. It was still good, it didn't have enough glaze, so I had to ask for some more glaze. I would give the salmon maybe a 7, maybe 6.5 presentation was nice.. I got to taste my co-workers, Mac and cheese. The presentation was nice and it was good, so I give it a 7.5, maybe 8. They had enough cheese in there. So now, as far as the rib, they had, it could have been a little more tinder, my coat work I had, but because of the pub, not bad. So we could say 7.5, it was pretty big. You'll see the pictures as well.“

“We decided to pop in Good Day Good Night for an after dinner drink. There were 5 of us. We each ordered 1 drink and one person ordered dessert. Her coffee finally arrived, after she finished her dessert. The rest of us had to wait over 30min for our drink. I ordered a White Russian. It was so iced down, the ice had melted and the drink just watery whatever. Our server just acted like we were bothering him, each time we asked about the status of our drink order. My drink was the only mixed drink. The others were a shot of bourbon, and 3 decafs (the coffee was already made) Next time we want to stop somewhere for an after dinner drink, it won't be here.“
