“This place is a true GEM to Durham! I celebrated my birthday here with a group of 17 people and from the initial conversation with the staff they were extremely efficient, professional and accommodating! And the food…the food was incredible! The drinks were made perfectly, the service was top notch and the atmosphere was very accommodating. I 100% recommend this place, no matter the occasion! Thank you all for accommodating my large group and making sure we had an unforgettable evening.“

“By virtue of the fabulous dishes and pastries alone, the Refectory Cafe is by far my favorite restaurant for brunch anywhere. The dishes were fresh, creative, generous and absolutely delicious, but it is the staff that sets this restaurant apart. From Pamela, their warm and friendly finance manager, to the exquisitely professional wait and service staff, they all and willing to go the extra mile to ensure a fabulous dining experience. 10/10!!“

“You have to go up to order food and drinks. The menu is limited with burgers and a hot dog option. Sides are an extra cost. The beers are great and service from the bartender was good. I’ll have to try the back patio when the weather is cooler.“

“🥪 One of my favorite lunch spots in RTP! It's small so get there early. Deep menu, great specials, and free cookies on Fridays! I kind of wish they were open on weekends so I could share it with friends who don't work nearby weekdays.“

“We had a wonderful experience from being greeted to being served beautifully by Daniel. He took extra care and attention to make our evening special. “I want to express praise and gratitude to Desmond at the Durham Hotel. I had been calling the rooftop restaurant for a couple of weeks to try and modify a reservation for a birthday party and after five or six attempts, they had not called me back. I eventually called the hotel and Desmond answered and even though it is completely separate and outside of his job responsibilities, he took down all my information and reached out to them on my behalf . Desmond was able to modify my reservation so that I did not have to drive down there an hour each way. He was very professional and I enjoyed talking with him. He is definitely in the right line of work because I felt like I was talking to a friend. Details matter, and Customer Service should still matter. Thank you, Desmond!!
