“We enjoyed sitting out on the deck, listening to the band. Had drinks & appetizers. It was windy. So we went inside for dinner. It was very loud, we had to yell to talk, nothing around at all soften the noise! Staff and meal took forever and not worth the wait.“

This place is inside a Walmart shopping center although you’d swear you were downtown somewhere in the mid 90s once inside which was one of my favorite things about it. The owner was manning the grill himself like it should be turning out orders every few minutes! My lunch consisted of Bacon Cheeseburger and chili cheese fries, the burger was very filling I’d guess 1/4LB or so it didn’t have as much smash/sear as I’d typically prefer but is a great burger nonetheless and the chili cheese fries were amazing! Eric has built an awesome business, greeting customers by name, definitely worth trying if you’re in the Southport/Oak Island Area!!!“

“Celebrated my birthday at Salt64 as our first visit to the establishment. Exceptional service, David was an outstanding waiter. Food was delicious, brought promptly to our table still hot and fresh out of the kitchen. Due to its size, when all tables were full it was a bit noisy, but well worth the noise for the food and service. Don't skip dessert!“

“I have been a big fan of Mo’s Pizza for years. Today I tried some other menu options and was completely blown away. The pasta and marinara are excellent. The vegetables are well prepared and fresh. They are not heavily sauced but rely on their natural flavor. The roasted potatoes were exceptional. Service was very friendly, prompt and professional. A real plus is being able to get a first rate meal without having to sit in traffic for an hour. Plenty of free parking more bonus points! Highly recommended!“

“There's nothing low about this country boil, it is all high caliber. I ordered a sample of all they offered and everything was fresh. Even the andouille sausage's spicy flavor was a pleasant surprise. Quantities were ample. Condiments were provided. Their boil seasoning is steps above Old Bay, with a slight kick depending on how much you use. I utilized their suggestion to use their signature brew for the boiling. On the subject of brews, I partnered this feast with their popular and equally flavorful Taco Life Mexican style lager. On top of everything mentioned, I now have a souvenir bucket in remembrance of a great meal.“

“We stopped by on our way to Fort Caswell for coffees and muffins and we were so impressed with the friendliness and service that we stopped again several days later on our way home for lunch. The wraps were delicious, the pretzel was amazing, the tea and coffee made to perfection, even the cookies were heavenly. We will definitely stop again on our next trip.“

On the next visit I ordered their Reuben and I was asked “Do you want it the way we make it?”. Wasn’t sure what that meant but I said “Sure”. I’m glad I did because it was one of the best Reuben’s I have ever had! I needed multiple napkins because it was so full of meat, sauerkraut and sauce!

“Tranquil Harbor is one of our go-to places to eat on the island. We love that we can make a reservation since many places don’t take them. The salmon is incredibly good as is pretty much everything we’ve ever ordered. I’m a super particular person when it comes to restaurant food so you better believe if I’m a repeat customer (dozens of times over), it must be good. Bonus is we have some in our family with sensitive tummies and if anything had ever been off as far as freshness, their guts would’ve let us know. No issues at all. Also we adore the bartender whose name escapes me at the moment. She makes a mean martini and is always friendly and fun.“

“I feel the need to review this place since I had suspicions, but then they were false because it was actually good, and other websites like Yelp and TripAdvisor may not tell you to go there. Horizons is a great/good seafood restaurant located in the Bald Head Island Club. I love the golf carts, and good thing they had a parking space for them- which was meant to keep them from being too hot since it was covered by a roof. The elevator is very unique: you step in one one side, and you go out the other once you're there. Originally I thought it'd be like the sign on the front (that kind of restaurants judging from it), but it wasn't. It looked better than that. We sat outside with a party of 7, and our server was the myth, the (wo)man, the legend: Taylor. She was very nice and lightened the atmosphere for us. Whenever it was too sunny, she didn't mind the whole switching the entire seating of the table around kind of thing. She is very comical, too. Anyways, for appetizers, our table got the Crab Dip and a Pub Pretzel. I do not know what was in that crab dip (except crab), but HOLY SMOKES THAT WAS INCREDIBLE. It reminded me of some other dish, and I loved it. Pretzel was also good. For entrees, our table ordered 2 things of chicken tenders, buffalo wings, a caesar salad (maybe a different one), a Cape Fear burger, the shrimp or scallop risotto (i couldn't remember since I'm writing this the day after the meal), and the pan-seared Halibut. The food was good, but not amazing. For Bald Head standards, I'll give this a 5 star. For my regular standards, I'll give it a 4.
Also, I believe the seagulls raided some table at the far back. Although that happened, it was pretty funny to me.“

I think I had 2 little shrimp in my shrimp taco – portions pretty small. Didn’t give us the burrito we ordered. Might try again next year for lunch.“
