“They've impressed me a couple of times. I didn't think I would like this place. It turned out to be not bad at all. Could use a bigger parking lot tho, I guess you could park at Food Lion. The service wasn't bad, either. All in all the three times I've been, I get it.“

Mama’s Pizza Express Pizza • $
721 Sullivan Rd, Statesville

“I’ve eaten here twice! The pizza is off the charts delicious! Best in town, by far! Took my son tonight and he loved it. Great wings! I saw some post complaint about paying 40 bucks for a large pep pizza, a salad, and two drinks. Come on people, this restaurant uses fresh ingredients, not garbage. It’s gonna cost a bit more than lil ceasars. His prices are in line with other independent pizza shops that have fresh ingredients. Let’s support this place Statesville!“

“We were going to go to the Mexican restaurant right across the plaza but it was slam full on a Tuesday around 6 at night. Surprised, we saw Vesuvio's and decided to give it a chance instead of wait.We had some bread with balsamic, olive oil and spices which was delicious according to the wife. I ate none of it so I'll take her word for it, and she loves her crusty but soft inside bread. She got a child's portion of the Chicken Alfredo, which was as good as any we've had before.I had a bowl of Chicken Spinach Soup and decided to roll the dice on the Chicken Marsala, and it all hit the spot. Soup delivered for what it said it was. The Marsala though, was sweet and savory with the provolone and parmesan adding a slight saltiness. It was served with spaghetti, which was well cooked, but I can't help but think it would have been better with mashed potatoes. I'd still order it again because it was some of the best I've had.Restaurant is quaint and cozy with very nice servers who are for the most part attentive. We had no complaints on the whole.“

“This was/is my go to place when I lived in/near Statesville. We went today to visit family to eat here. The food, still like I remember it. Still very good and about the best Italian place around. The wait staff, very few if any good things to say about them. Our waitress did not even want a table for one ( I know this because on the way to the restroom the one that sat us told them she had a table. She promptly said NO I DON'T WANT A TABLE) we were the only ones there at the moment (3pm Saturday afternoon) The waiter that took us was very short with us about everything. It was like he was not wanting to be there either. The service felt very rushed every time they came it was all you could do to get his attention to get drinks or silverware or even the check and Togo boxes. The bread brought out looked/ tasted old. Just not very good service at all. The food makes it worth the trip but the service is the reason for the review. All the staff looked miserable or they just flat out, didn't want to be there.“
