My passion for culinary exploration is complemented by a rigorous approach to restaurant reviews, focusing on three key criteria: Ambiance, Service, and Food. Exceptional establishments that excel in all these areas are rare, but I recently discovered one in the Southeastern US that surpassed all expectations. I aim to offer an impartial perspective, showcasing both strengths and areas for improvement. --- Ambiance: The restaurant is set in a converted barn on this large acreage of land with meticulously kept grounds and beautiful statutes. It is designed with both indoor and outdoor seating (with a beautiful creek), depending on your preferences. As you walk inside, you are greeted by this amazing horse statute made from wood and a dining space with large chandeliers hanging from the rooftop, open dining areas that allow for plenty of space between the tables, and great acoustics to enjoy a conversation while you are immersed in this culinary journey. --- Service: Impeccable. The table service was truly amazing; there was never a moment that you didn't have to worry about meeting all your needs while you chat with your spouse, friends, family, and business associates. With an open kitchen concept, we were able to see how they meticulously and strategically organize dishes as they come up on the final prep area to be delivered to tables. This was truly a well-oiled machine, with everything done in synchronization, from the kitchen to the delivery of the food at your table. --- Food: Every dish we ate was truly outstanding. I really thought hard during the dinner to see if I could find anything wrong with the taste, presentation, and quality of the food – I truly could not. Even their house rolls were amazing, soft, hot, and sprinkled with a little salt on top. We ordered the following. --- Appetizer: Burrata & Local Heirloom Tomatoes (with Roasted Corn, Sherry Vinaigrette, Arugula Roasted Pepper Purée) and 15 Layer Lasagna with Black Summer Truffles (with Oyster Mushrooms, Marcona Almonds, San Marzano Marinara) --- Table Side: Pimento Cheese Scones with Sorghum Butter and Pepper Jelly --- Main Entrée: 48 hour Short Rib (with Potato Purée, Broccoli Rabe, Sage, Sauce Bearnaise Grilled Shishito Relish) and Berkshire Pork Chop (with Brussels Sprouts, Baby Carrots, Charred Radicchio Chimichurri, Grilled SC Peaches & Golden Raisins) --- Dessert: Unfortunately, the desserts were known on the menu, and I don't recall the names or descriptions. However, you can clearly see the pictures attached. --- Normally, I would write a breakdown of each dish, but this would make the review far too lengthy. What I can tell you is that each dish was combined with the perfect combination of quality ingredients, creating an experience like no other. This was truly a 5-star Michelin star experience that was executed with precision and flawlessness.”

“Mint is the best restaurant in the Boone/Blowing Rock area! The food is fantastic, most ingredients from India. Cucumber salad and hot cauliflower appetizer, the saag options are all amazing. The service is attentive, friendly and professional. Aman is the best. He remembers us and makes us feel special plus he makes the most delicious drink - Mango Mojito. Atmosphere is nice, and to top it all off it’s a great value.”

“Wonderful stay while volunteering in the community for hurricane relief. The food in the pub was excellent and I slept so good. I'm so glad I made the call to see if ya'll had room vs sleeping in my truck for 3 nights. Karaoke was a nice suprise end to a long day on Friday. I'll definitely be back. Thank you again for your hospitality, ya'll are truly a gift to Roan and the hiking community.”

“My son was screaming while I was ordering, the young girl taking my order ran to go grab him the milk I ordered and waited for me to pour it in his sippy and took the cup back to throw away. She obviously did not have to do any of that and I am so grateful she did because the line was long and it allowed me to wait in line without a screaming baby. Every time I’ve gone to the Wichita Falls location I’ve always had above and beyond customer service.”

“My wife and I had the Dragon bowl and the Acerola smoothie. Both were absolutely delicious! The bowls were bigger than others we have had in the area and the fruit was so fresh that I thought they were growing it in the back! Jessica and Mike are the best and they are so welcoming that you feel like you have known them for years. Next time, and there will be MANY more next times, I'm going to add cacao nibs. I think the chocolate would add another mood boosting layer to my already insanely healthy breakfast. This kept me going all the way to lunch and I even skipped coffee! I can't wait to go back to Seaboard Station Palm Berries and try the next bowl.”

After several recommendations we landed at this restaurant over in the downtown area of Boone off King Street. --- As an experienced traveler, having explored 68 countries and 36 states, I approach restaurant reviews with clear criteria: Ambience, Service, and Food (Quality, Taste, Presentation). My goal is to provide an unbiased perspective, highlighting both strengths and weaknesses. --- Ambiance – The restaurant blends the local cabin feel with modern décor creating an amazing indoor and outdoor dining area suitable for small gatherings including friends, family, business meetings, and groups, along with the ability to entertain larger setups for group events. They utilized modern touches such as large chandeliers and decorative lighting coupled with local artwork on the walls to create a culturally diverse space with a local vibe. --- Wait Staff - Our waitress was exceptionally attentive, offering insights into the diverse flavors of the menu. Highlights included Woodfired Flats & Pizzas, Handhelds/Sandwiches, Burgers, Tacos, and Soups/Salads. --- Food – In an area with plenty of traditional food options that provide standard burgers, sandwiches, and salads, this restaurant stands out by elevating ingredients and flavor combinations to new heights. Each dish showcases a commitment to fresh, quality ingredients and innovative flavor profiles truly brings their dining experience to an elevated level. --- Boone Philly: Deemed a customer favorite featuring tender chicken (or steak) paired with onions, peppers, mushrooms, and melted cheese on French bread. This seemingly simple dish impresses with its robust flavors and perfect harmony of taste, texture, and blend. It’s not your typical Philly. I would put this sandwich up against some of the local staples back in Philadelphia. --- Fig and Bacon: A standout dish, the Fig and Bacon grilled chicken sandwich on toasted sourdough is topped with applewood smoked bacon, whipped goat cheese, smoked gouda, and housemade fig marmalade. The fusion of sweet, savory, and creamy textures creates a truly exceptional culinary experience. My only small criticism is to be careful with the goat cheese. There were bites of the sandwich where the goat cheese overpowered all the other flavors. --- Side Options: Sandwiches come with a choice of chips or coleslaw, with upgrades available like Sweet Potato Fries, Mac N’ Cheese, Grilled Asparagus, and Fried Plantains. Do not just pass by the homemade chips, crafted with the same dedication to quality and freshness evident in every aspect of the menu. --- For those seeking a lunch spot that redefines classic dishes with innovative twists and exceptional quality, this local gem, open for lunch and dinner, promises a dining experience beyond the ordinary.”

“There have been comments about how slow the service is. Well let me tell you, when the "biscuit experience" is like mine, there is going to be a wait from the throngs of people just scrambling for the experience because it was ah-mazing. I got a country ham, egg, cheese biscuit. The ham was perfection but that biscuit... let me just tell you, I have had many... I mean MANY biscuits in my 68 years but NEVER have I had one where the biscuit did not crumble. Eating a sandwich this flavorful without a crumbling biscuit made for the most wonderful breakfast biscuit I have ever had. If I thought for one second they would divulge their recipe I would certainly ask. Again, the best breakfast biscuit experience this 68 year old has ever had. Well done!!!!!”

“If you are looking for a cool vibe? This is the place. The food is fantastic!! The owner makes the best hot wings in NC and that's the truth. Football Sunday this is the place Wings and great draft specials. Also if you have that family who cant agree on where to eat. This place has something for every appetite. The bar atmosphere is amazing ..shots at the bar, getting crazy or just chilling with some boonshine chatting over a beer. Also didn't see any news channels! politics are not in this restaurant its all about good times and a good meal. These folks got it right...love the staff. If you go please order the buffalo wings and homemade Bleu cheese...and order a lasagna my Gosh, if you put the food on your forehead, your tongue will beat your brains out trying to get the food”

“We moved to Beech Mountain two days before Hurricane Helen and can’t express how thankful we are to have met so many great people. Famous Brick Oven Pizza was one of two restaurants that were open and giving out free pepperoni and cheese pizzas as well as drinks. You were greeted by very friendly employees who gave out some great tasting pizza. Brick Oven Pizza has a customer for life. Thank you for your generosity, I can’t wait to actually visit when we have power.”
