“This restaurant is a delight each time we eat here. Family style servings of side dishes in addition to the chosen entree. The Rainbow Trout is excellent!Parking: There's plenty of parking available, but the front is always full. Visitors tend to overlook the parking in the back, accessible by the covered bridge across the river.“

“My husband and I had a great dining experience. We asked to sit at the bar since the wait time was about 30 minutes. The bartender, Lance, was fabulous. He recommended a couple of drinks according to my taste and they were spot on. Lance served our food in a timely manner and it was hot and delicious. Highly recommend!!“

“My coworker said that Kirk’s has the best Chili burger she’d ever had, so I decided to try them out. I got the Chili burger with fries and a coke and it was indeed delicious. The burger was cooked perfectly, perfect amount of chili where I got chili in every bite, but not too much that it made a huge mess or have the burger fall apart. The fries were the thin cut (on location I was told) and delicious. The lady working the register and the “Kirk” brother who was cooking were welcoming and friendly. I got a kick out of his personalized Kirk’s Kitchen shoes. Anyway, great place, small but a nice little patio outside. Highly recommend to try them out, you won’t be disappointed.“

“Newman's Restaurant at the Orchard Inn is just a very special place. We have stayed there. We have dined there. We have taken friends there. We have run into friends there. We have enjoyed getting to know the owners and the staff. We look forward to our next visit as soon as we leave. It's about a 45 minute drive from our home, or we'd be there more often. The setting is exceptional - reminding us of Country Inns in New England. The views are delightful - especially from the veranda expansion put in several years ago. The staff is friendly - the pace is not rushed - the food is outstanding.“

“Wonderful experience . We visited the first time for Sunday Brunch . Our waitress was simply awesome . Every single staff member we encountered was very pleasant and provided excellent service , with a smile . Our food was delicious , plentiful and hot . The environment inside is warm and cozy. We plan to return for dinner . Thank you for being such an asset to our community! Be sure to at least go on Sunday so you can try their cinnamon roll . We ordered one for an appetizer and ate less than half , best we have ever had . My husband was happy to take the rest home for a dessert later !“

“Another great night at the Purple Onion. The staff is terrific - they work together and serve with the right pace and attention. Last night we enjoyed salads and a pizza and not disappointed. The trout dip we started with was very flavorful and served hot. Crème brûlée to end the evening was perfect. The Onion offers a great reservation setup for live music. Thanks again!“

“Calverts is that little neighborhood place that you grew up eating at,that had simple yet good homemade food. It has that feel to it as well. I have been eating there for at least 10 years and have never had a bad meal, the staff which includes a working owner are always gracious and welcoming. Love this place!“

“I was looking for somewhere local to eat,and fell upon this gem. I was instantly treated like family, and greeted with a smile. I ordered a burger,and fries. It came with slaw as well. All of it was delicious! If you want the country diner experience, then Tigerville Cafe is a good place to start.“

“This was truly an incredible experience. Very much an actual chef's table, with Chef Gene giving us so much information, so much of his time, and so much food! We took home multiple to go boxes. Every course was inventive and fun, and I strongly recommend going there open to whatever Chef Gene has in mind, because it is a crazy fun and innovative culinary adventure tour. Our meal ended with a steak (any cut of our choosing?!?) that he deep fried in Wagyu tallow (?!?!) - our minds were blown. Everything was great, but I think my favorite was this amazing mahi mahi on a bed of salsa verde, pureed corn, with a Peruvian tomato-based sauce. All of those flavors came together beautifully, and the fish was perfectly pan-fried. Just as importantly, everybody there seemed to be having fun and actually enjoying their job, which feels way too rare these days. For Greenville/Greer-based folks it is definitely worth the drive. It's good to get away from Main Street and take in the peace and quiet and greenery, and delicious food.“

“Had a rear tire puncture on the Highway 4 hours into the ride toward Maggie Valley for the week. Sunday and normally would have been stuck until the next days shops opened. Green River made this clear up within the hour and had a new tire on so we could continue toward our hotel to check in Sunday on time. They did a quick and perfect job along with making sure a biker wasn’t left stranded. I would and will continue to keep them in my list of life lines anytime needed. This place is legit!“

Quaint and causal atmosphere year sophisticated cuisine. The shrimp and grits looked amazing- enough for two people! The chocolate silk pie was rich and the crust melted in your mouth… so so so good!“

“We found this place by accident and are glad we did. Our burger was big and side of fries huge. The fish sandwich huge as well. Service was great. The cashier was patient with us ordering and helped us choose. The dinning room was clean and orderly. We were wanting fast food and got it fast but it was better than just fast food. The food quality was great and tons better than other local fast food restaurants, and actually cheaper too. Looks like we found a great " go to " restaurant.“

I asked about mixed drinks and she was excited to tell me about them. I asked about drafts and bottles and she said what do you like and even brought out samples if something I wanted was out. I wish I knew her name however a great experience all around. The food was delicious, I had the crispy chicken sandwich and sweet potato fries and I enjoyed them thoroughly, perfect breaking on the sandwich, perfect seasoning, all the textures were just right and the fries were lightly seasoned to perfection.“
