“I have been to movies and shows at the Flat Rock Cinema. Every time I have been there, the staff is professional, courteous, and fun. They have made a positive impression each time. I have felt welcome and appreciated. The facility is clean and well maintained. The menu has a good selection of items available. A favorite is their popcorn. They have a program going right now where guests can purchase a “Silver Ticket” and it allows the holder to get “free popcorn”. I don’t remember all the details, but it is worth asking them about. I have also had the privilege of performing at the Flat Rock Cinema with The Improvables. The Flat Rock Cinema is celebrating 20!years here in 2026..! Happy Anniversary..!! If you are looking for a great place to watch movies, have a party, see a live concert or a comedy show, based on my positive experiences, I highly recommend…!!“

“We had the Flat Rock Village Bakery Mobile Wood-fired Pizzas for our daughter's welcome diner the night before the wedding. The service was great and they provide both regular and gluten free pizza with a wide variety of pizza toppings that everyone loved. I would. highly recommend them for an event.“

Once a regular stop, we have avoided the location on Upward Road. Tonight a random craving for a chicken sandwich and hashbrowns hit me. My husband and I decided to drop in. Im so happy we did. This was the most enjoyable dining experience we have had in a while. Our server Tasha was absolutely amazing. She was welcoming, attentive and made it look easy. She is an asset to this location. It’s not just wings!! they truly have a huge selection, from hotdogs to Mexican food to classic favorites. The variety makes it easy to bring the whole family because everyone will find something they love. The prices are the best I’ve seen in a long time, and the service was top-notch. The laid-back, fun atmosphere made it a place where you can relax and enjoy yourself. Plus, it was very clean, which says a lot about how much pride they take in their restaurant. For a place that’s only been around a year, they’re absolutely knocking it out of the park. We will definitely be back..and I highly recommend giving them a try!“

We then headed for the St. Paul Vineyards, only to find that they were fairly crowded, and that we'd previously visited there on an Asheville trip four years earlier. Maria began looking for one on her phone, but something about the surrounding terrain seemed familiar, and I told her I sensed a Sonic close by.
