“Omg this place has the best chicken strips. And the onion rings are the best around. To be honest the chicken strips are better than restaurants who do nothing but chicken. They have nothing on The seafood shack. These chicken strips melt in your mouth so do the onion rings. My husband loves their popcorn shrimp. He said they were the best he had. I will always get my chicken strips from the shack from now on.“

“Enjoyed a tasty Sunday brunch at Milner's. This was my first time visiting, but it was a good experience. For brunch they bud a lot to offer, maybe too much. They had their brunch menu, a specials menu and their standard menu, so plenty to pick from. Staff was friendly, but short staffed for sure. We sat at a table in the bar area and the bartender was taking care of the entire space. Food came out quickly, and everyone really enjoyed their meals! I opted for the meatloaf and it was good, would definitely recommend! Overall, it was a great meal, but a bit on the pricey side. I enjoyed it and would be back again gift a special occassion“

“Our table had the crab stuffed portabella (amazing), crab stuffed flounder (not dry, not over sauced, seasoned great), crab legs cooked to perfection, oysters cooked as ordered, fried foods were not over battered. Calamari was chewy and seared tuna wasnt seasoned much and a little fishy. Its a little loud and seating isn't that comforrable for the older people.“

The chef Curtis is a mushroom forager so any dish with mushrooms is a must try. For a “fine dining” establishment it is remarkably unostentatious and laid back. The chili, slaw, dill pickles, and chopped onions join the party, creating a flavor symphony unlike any other. “One of my sisters decided to treat myself and 2 other sisters to North Point Grill. We arrived a little after 3pm on a Saturday, we were greeted and seated promptly, and there was only one other table being served. It's very open and spacious. They also have a private dining room that can be reserved. They have an extensive menu and a variety of cuisine. American/southern (burgers, meatloaf, baked chicken), salads, Italian pasta dishes, Greek/Mediterranean, and a ton deserts. We started with some ginormous potato skins. They were loaded with bacon, cheese, and green onion and served with a side of ranch. They were piping hot and justvas a potatoe skin should be. Some sour crram would have been nice. They probably would've given us some if asked, but we didn't. I decided on the meatloaf with lima beans, stewed cabbage, and a roll. I was warned that the meatloaf is typically served with the ketchup sauce/gravy on top. That's not a preference, and they were able to serve it without it. The meatloaf was seasoned well with a great texture. The stewed cabbage and lima beans weren't as flavorful as I would've liked, but they were still good. Now, that damn roll!! Imma go back just for the roll. It was so warm, fluffy, and buttery! It was just perfect. I should've asked for an extra one! I also had sweet tea to drink, and it was perfectly brewed and sweetened. Other orders at the table included: - baked chicken with rice and lima beans -grilled chicken salad (it was HUGE) -bologna sandwich with fries and a side of cabbage. Everyone enjoyed everything, and the servings were so large that we all had food to take home.“

“I had my first trip to this restaurant which is insane because it's so close to my house. The bartender was super friendly and greeted me as I sat at the bar and decided what to eat. I chose the fried chicken sandwich and she explained that their luxe sauce was a hot sauce that was sweet. The sandwich was a chicken thigh and it was really big and really perfectly cooked and seasoned. I was shocked that I got the sandwich fries and a lemonade for $10. I love the decor in this place and it just seems like a really nice place to eat. I will definitely be back soon.“

“Mayflower is a regional chain of seafood restaurants, featuring Calabash style of seafood like you find in abundance along the North and South Carolina Coast. Being about three and a half hours inland, Mayflower does a great job of satisfying the pallet of a beach bum who grew up in Wilmington, NC. We have a little construction project going on at home, and at the moment, the kitchen is a wreck. As a result, we are eating out a lot. This is one of those nights. We went to Mayflower (Peters Creek Parkway) around six in the evening. Parking lot was full, but we were seated right away. Our server showed up quickly and took our orders. CAUTION - Mayflower portions are large. The offer a "regular" and "large" sizes of most items. The regular is huge. The do offer a smaller, Senior size of several items along with a kids menu. Carolyn ordered the Senior Popcorn Shrimp ($10.99). The meal comes with cole slaw, hushpuppies, and one side (Baked Potato, Fries, Green Beans, More Slaw, Mac & Cheese). She had the baked potato. I ordered the regular size Popcorn Shrimp ($14.99). Also served with hushpuppies, slaw, and one side. I ordered fries. For the uninformed, Popcorn Shrimp are small (we used to call them "sound shrimp" when I was growing up at Wrightsville Beach). Calabash Style means they are lightly battered and deep fried (quickly). The batter is light with a touch of sweetness. Done right (as these were), they are cooked in fresh, very hot oil. Not greasy. Shrimp are sweet and tender. Dishes are served with a tangy cocktail sauce, and tartar sauce, both of which are house made and very good. Service was quick, and attentive. We had soft drinks - a bit pricey at $3.99 each - but with free, unlimited refills. All in all, this is one of our favorite places for a quick, tasty dinner. And prices are reasonable. Not may places where two can eat a nice meal for $33 including tip. If you have never tried seafood this way, give it a shot. If you don't like fried foods, they offer broiled and grilled items as well. Fresh fish, shrimp, scallops, etc. The also offer a steak or two. We highly recommend Mayflower Seafood.“

“As soon as you walk in you will see the daily specials. There is a full bar that you can sit at as well as a large dining area. It is a very laid back atmosphere. We were seated immediately and host as well as server was very friendly. There is a nice selection of mixed drinks as well as beers. There are a few small dishes but the main attraction are the seafood boil bags. We are not big ballers so we did not get the Fri/Sat “Market Price” lobster tails with snow crabs. We opted for the pound of headless shrimp bag and the pound of mussels. Both come with corn and potatoes. For an up charge, you can add sausage, eggs, or more corn and potatoes. There are different sauces and heat levels. We tried the Crafty house sauce(Will get med next time) and the garlic butter(could have been a bit more garlicky). We were satisfied with both. If you worry about your salt intake then I suggest you get the sauce on the side, this way you avoid your BP going up. Mine went up cause I live on the edge!“
