“El Jefe joined the restaurant scene in Walnut Cove in the summer of 2026. The consistent quality of food and service is unmatched. On our most recent visit, we had a large group of 12 to celebrate our daughter's birthday. We arrived fairly late in the evening (after 9 p.m.) and they took care of our every need without issue. The menu offers a variety of delectable, authentic Mexican dishes such as la lingua tacos and ceviche tropicale, and priced accordingly. The restaurant is conveniently located at the crux of Highway 311 and Main Street in a former Hardee's building. Though it underwent a major transformation, the seating is still predominantly booth style and at times, can make for a tight space between other full booths. The freshness of food and quality of overall experience is so definitely worth a try!“

“This place is straight high octane gas. The gorditas came out hot and fresh, the tacos were hot and fresh, you can tell the tortillas are hand made, pressed and cooked to order and the pastor was on point. highly recommend coming in and getting a plate of food“
