“Stopped for the ice cream fell in love with the cookies. The ice cream is from a NC creamery and I recommend the Lemon Crunch 🍋 But the cookies are a blessing for your taste buds. I got the coconut cookie and my husband raved about the white chocolate macadamia. I wish we had tried this sooner... but it's 10 miles down the beach 😆“

“South Beach Grill is a staple during our annual OBX vacation. We order from there 2-3 times during the week. They are fast, friendly, and ordering is easy online. Dinner for our group of 9 was ready for pick-up in less than 20 minutes. Everyone has tried multiple things from the menu and everyone was extremely pleased with everything they’ve tried. My favorites are the southwest wrap, burgers, and Buffalo chicken Philly. Their fries are delicious… especially with their fry sauce or BBQ ranch. South Beach Grill is a must have on your OBX vacation!“

“We returned to the Outer Banks last week after a 20 year hiatus, remembering Tortuga's Lie as one of our favorite places to eat. We ate there on the second night of our stay and no one in the family was disappointed. I had the grilled salmon salad special and coming from a tough critic, it was DELICIOUS and did not disappoint! Everyone enjoyed their meal and the "vibe" was just the same as we remembered. We can't wait to visit again.“

“Out of all the great places my husband and I visited, this place was a must go to! We visited this place for their amazing shave ice TWICE. It would have been three times, but their customer lines can be very long. Can you blame them?!? The shave ice, no matter the flavor, captures the juice liquid so well, it melts in your mouth and is not overbearing. You don't even get brainfreeze! The ice is truly shaved. Not chunky or snowballed at all. Two thumbs up! We will visit this place AGAIN and AGAIN next year.“

“I had a wonderful omelette made with fresh vegetables and turkey bacon. The fresh pressed juice was so delicious. As a person with food allergies, Freshfit has many options for me. They offer vegan and gluten free items, plus turkey sausage or bacon instead of pork. We can’t wait to eat there again on our next OBX visit!“

“The little downtown area of Manteo is very cozy, and a favorite spot to visit when we come to the outer banks. I finally got around to visiting the Tavern, and wasn't disappointed at all. The location is gorgeous, right next to the Manteo lighthouse and boardwalk on the Sound. The restaurant definitely has the Irish Pub vibes upon entering. The wait staff were all friendly, and the food was awesome. The fish n chips were the best I've had anywhere to date. I really admired how they use whatever the local catch of the day is. Mine was Swordfish, which is a delicious dense fish that was perfect for fish n chips. Being a "beer guy", I also loved the 'Lost Colony Brewery' selections, particularly the Stout which was very reminiscent of Guinness Stout. The loaded chips were also delicious and very filling. Needless to say, I walked in, but waddled out lol. I'll definitely make it a point to come back when I visit the Outer Banks!“

“Walked in 40 minutes before closing to have dinner with my daughter and granddaughter and the staff was absolutely wonderful! And the food was AMAZING! This will be our new go to spot! We even got a complimentary sample of their she crab soup…. OMG!!!!“

“I had a wonderful experience at Big Buck’s Homemade Ice Cream! I ordered the strawberry sorbet, and it was absolutely delicious—perfectly refreshing and bursting with real strawberry flavor. You could really taste the quality of the homemade recipe. Ashley, my server, was fantastic; she was friendly, attentive, and made the visit even better with her warm personality. Highly recommend Big Buck’s for anyone craving a sweet treat, especially their sorbet!

“Soft Shell Crab special was amazing! The Sugar Creek Seafood Pasta w/ fire roasted pepper marinara was excellent as well. Dinner came w/ the best cornbread I've ever had, not something I would go out of my way to order but so glad it was included with the meals! Seasonal vegetable was a fresh cucumber, tomato and onion salad, very, very good!
Ordered food to go so waited at the bar and had excellent service from Cameron (I think I remembered his name correctly🤞🏻) He was so sweet and accommodating.
Restaurant atmosphere was very nice. Beautiful sound side sunset views, interesting decor and big gift shop.“

“Ortega'z - what a GREAT gem! Heard about this restaurant on Guys Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives; and boy, it not disappoint! The pulled pork nachos appetizer was absolutely HUGE and AMAZING! YES, all caps is necessary. We also ordered two entrees - fish tacos and also Buffalo chicken tacos. Both came with 3 tacos, and rice and beans. Everything was so delicious and the portion sizes were great! Great prices for the amount of food you receive. Oh, and the service was great also! Will be returning very soon!“

“I’ve been coming to the Outer Banks for 30 years. I remember getting the best burger on the OBX at this restaurant. Apparently they have stopped serving food. That is not the issue. I called up to ask if they no longer serve burgers, and was told “this isn’t McDonald’s”. I don’t appreciate being spoken to that way from a worker of a restaurant I want to spend my money at. If they can’t train their staff to have better customer service, I cannot imagine how poorly they treat customers at the restaurant. Very disappointed.“

“We made reservations for 4:30 , had 14 in our group. Food has always been good but tonight's service was horrible. We had 6:00 tickets for Christmas lites & had to leave before ever getting our food. Other tables seated 15 to 20 minutes AFTER us got served. Will never recommend or go back again 😕“
