“OMG! was joking with the owner tonight while I was in to pick up our 1st pizza from here that we haven't found a great pizza in OBX. WELL NOW WE HAVE FOUND THE BEST! The crust was absolutely amazing! I am picky about sauces and this sauce was the best ever. Cannot recommend enough!“
“Oh my! So fresh..so tasty. Absolutely wonderful little place. I wish I were in this area more often, because I could absolutely eat here at least 3 days a week.Cozy, fun, beachy atmosphere.I had the Tuna Pokè Bowl and oh ... The flavors blended perfectly! Yum!Everyone was so friendly and welcoming!“
“It was a very lovely place with a wonderful atmosphere. My reason for a 4 and not a 5 is probably personal preference. There weren't any easy to see menus for what was available before going in. I did go online and see what they had.Everyone was super nice and it seemed that there was a lot of regulars so it may just be the kind of place you make into a regular stop.I loved their little pick up cubby, but it was a touch difficult for someone with anxiety as a first time stop. But again, everyone was so nice. If it wasn't such a chill place I don't think I would have gotten far enough to put in an order.Definitely worth it, just maybe look up what you want first before heading in.“
“Best beach coffee I’ve ever had in my 15 years of getting countless coffees at the beach. Most the time the coffee has a bitter taste or covered up with sugar. Coffee here was the most beautiful blend of different notes and you can taste each one. We got the Crème Brûlée and Southswell (hopefully the second is spelled correctly). Cannot recommend this place enough. I’m a coffee sipper and I drank mine in literally under 5 minutes.“
“The pizza was so good and delivery was fast. Definitely recommend this local deliciousness - avoid the chains! Varied menu that is accomodating to almost any dietary preference (GF, vegan cheese, etc,) in addition to the traditional toppings.“
“We sat on the back deck and the view was stunning!!! The food was good. I got broiled scallops which were fine. Not bad at all but not the best I've ever had for sure. I actually was very impressed with the mixed veggies and will try and recreate them at home because they were delicious. All of my kids ordered from the kids menu and there were no complaints. Fries were very good. My husband had the fish sandwich and said it was also fine. Tarter sauce was excellent!“
“Exactly what you want from a beach grill. Good fresh options, friendly staff and lots of space for capacity. As a local, this is definitely one of my favorite off-season locations. They have a local discount also, which is helpful.I've been multiple times and I believe that the Caesar salad here is among the best on the island. Would definitely recommend it to anyone. Also they recycle their oyster shells, which is really great for the environment. Thanks to the North Carolina Coastal foundation for being so wonderful.“
“I’ve been coming to the Outer Banks for 30 years. I remember getting the best burger on the OBX at this restaurant. Apparently they have stopped serving food. That is not the issue. I called up to ask if they no longer serve burgers, and was told “this isn’t McDonald’s”. I don’t appreciate being spoken to that way from a worker of a restaurant I want to spend my money at. If they can’t train their staff to have better customer service, I cannot imagine how poorly they treat customers at the restaurant. Very disappointed.“
“We just finished an amazing dinner while on vacation! This is a true hidden gem off the beaten path. The service and food were exceptional and I can’t wait to go back! If you are looking for a tasty meal with great ambiance, I recommend you head here soon! We even got to meet Chef Randolph! Absolutely delightful!“
“We totally enjoyed our lunch, sitting outside in the beautiful weather yesterday. We had burgers—mine was a blue cheeseburger and my husband’s was a mushroom burger. Both were cooked fresh to our orders and were delicious! I had sweet potato fries and my husband had onion rings. My fries were the best I’ve had in a long time—sprinkled with sugar and salt. Get it!“
“I pass this cute little spot to and from home everyday and finally stopped! I'm glad I did, so cute inside, great quaint beachy vibes, and friendly service. I had the March Mocha and chose the perfect drink for myself! I also loved that it's a raised building with an elevator so it is accessible to ALL!“
“Hands down our favorite shop in OBX and absolute favorite place to get Açaí. Our family has a tradition of getting açaí wherever we go, no matter where we travel we look for the best açaí place. We cannot even begin to explain how much we love the açaí here. We went every day 3 days in a row and have yet to find a better açaí place. Shop is so super cute like a posh boutique and the owners are so friendly and you feel like you're going into a shop where like Cheers "everybody knows your name". And we can't forget the soft serve and waffle cone. Something for everyone. We will find vacation homes in Obx based on the proximity of it to this shop! Not to mention their packaging which screamed quality and attention to detail. Everyone was so nice especially considering we were a group of 13 and with all our order and specs for each they were so accommodating. We could go on and on but really it's meant to be experienced for oneself!“
“Favorite brewery in the outer banks. The place is really cool, it’s right on the main road and easy to get to. Beers are all good, the head dipper is probably my favorite IPA I have ever had actually. They are also dog friendly and the back yard becomes like a dog park at times.“
“Cute little place with just what you need! A quick meal, refreshments, and desserts in one place! Found it by accident but will definitely look for it again! The grease spot in the wrapper is always a sign you're about to eat something your soul desires!“
“This is a place with the essence of the Outer Banks, from the music and atmosphere, to the flavors. The service is excellent, the burgers are delicious. Ideal to go after work or to have a good time with friends. Too noisy for meetings. I do not recommend bringing children.“
“Great little spot! Only sad we discovered it on our last day of Vaca! The donuts are yummy and the glazes were very flavorful!Egg and cheese donut hit the sweet and salty spot!My 7 year old says, "best thing ever!" And we were at 3 donut spots in the last week!“
“Fun atmosphere in restaurant/market, with great wine selection (lots available by the glass) and quality food. Service was above average, and even the music was great (mellow classic rock, not live, but sometimes they have live music). Good variety in apps and small plate options, delicious seafood choices, and you can tell the folks in the kitchen cook with passion and a care for quality food. Some good gluten free options, but very sadly, no GF bread or sandwich buns. The market sells a great selection of gourmet food items, beautiful cheeses and wines, funny cocktail napkins, and even some prepared foods.“
“Lunch today at Olives in Manteo with my mom and brother. Was full but only a short wait (3 minutes). Seated next to the window with a beautiful view of the harbor. Staff was super friendly. Ordered the Greek lemon chicken soup for my mom and the Mezede platter for all as appetizers. The soup and the platter were delicious. My mom ordered the Spanakopita which came with a nice salad. My brother and I both ordered the falafel gyro. The spanakopita was delicious and the falafel gyros were awesome. For desert we shared a coconut bread pudding. Normally I don’t order bread pudding, but that changed after today. The bread pudding was so awesome that we ordered more to take home. Overall, the view, the staff, the food, and especially the coconut bread pudding made this a great experience. If I find myself in Manteo again, a meal at Olives will be a must. Thank you Olives!Vegetarian options: Great selection of vegetarian appetizers and entrees.Parking: Found a spot easily right across the street and overlooking the marsh lighthouse.“
“This is a bar, and we were looking to grab a couple of pints of beer, and a bar named "Tap That" sounded like it should have a good selection of beers. They did offer 16 different tapped beers, but not one of them was an IPA. Most beer joints that I've been in have too many different IPA's (hazy, imperial, new england, etc...). So we worked around that, and had the pilsner that they offer. They also have several fruity sours that have become more popular these days. The bartender was Phil - decent guy. Chatted a little with him, and he did a good job of remembering people's drink orders (for refills). It's a small joint, but it worked for what we wanted. Limited parking (maybe 4-5 spaces), so if you can walk there, that would work best.“
“fabulous meal huge servings of absolutely delicious food. Staff was very responsive and quick to attend to our needs Food came out lightning quick cooked to perfection, and so tasty. Definitely recommend one of the best meals we had while visiting OBX.“
“Love the place. Been going there for a few years now. Morgan is an attentive and friendly bartender. Their beer selection on tap is awesome and of course they have a good selection of cold bottled and canned beers to go. Remember to bring your growler too. It’s the best place on the Island to explore different beers. Please go and thank Morgan for the smile!“
“Vegan options were so tasty. Also I love their French fries. I know I shouldn't judge a place just on their fries but they're seriously so good. Good beer options and local sodas. The atmosphere is also nice and not cramped.Vegetarian options: Their vegan or vegetarian options are great.“
“The bartender Chris greeted us and made us feel welcomed. Very nice guy! He recommended the Ahi Poke Nachos and it was delicious!! My husband ordered the lobster and crab grilled cheese with fries as a side. I tried both and it was also delicious. I ordered the steak noodle bowl and the flank steak was cooked perfectly and it was tender. Very good! Definitely would recommend these items. Cant wait for our next visit in 2024.“
“Barrier island bagels has the best bagel sandwiches I have ever had. I would highly recommend the hangover cure with scallion cream cheese! The restaurant is adorable! My friends and I have been here twice on our vacation and we have loved the food each time. The only downside to Barrier Island Bagels is that the service can be unpredictable. On our first visit the service was nice. In our second visit, service felt more hostile. The employee who sat us was very welcoming! Unfortunately, at times; it feels that being served is an inconvenience. It is worth the uncomfortable service because the sandwiches are incredible.“
“If you really love crab this is the place. Biggest Snow Crab I ever saw or ate. Our server Beau was great. They had types of Crab I never heard of. The cooked Crab was not cooked in spice but they had all kinds and brands of spice for you to add yourself I had over 8 large clusters of Crab and corn and fried shrimp. I thought I was going to bust.“
“Best little breakfast deli in the OBX!!! Me and my fiancé come here almost every morning every time we visit the outer banks, and the food is always amazing and not over priced like a lot of other places around here. We've also come here for lunch too, and i love their fried seafood baskets, i particularly like the fried oyster basket, they definitely give you your moneys worth in food. There's not really anywhere to sit inside since it's more of an in-and-out type of place, but they do have picnic tables right outside that we sit at when it's nice outside. The people working here are also always so nice and welcoming, which always makes us wanna come back too. This place is 10/10 and I rave about it to everyone.“
“The food was phenomenal! Schindler's homemade lasagna was the best I've ever had! His grandmother's recipe is one-of-a-kind!! He even offered great locations to take my little man fishing. So personable and has a great smile! The restaurant is clean, inviting and beautifully decorated. Love the compass when you walk in! The atmosphere is great too! Loved that you can play Keno! They're one of two places that have Keno on the beach. Met the best locals! So friendly! The service was 50/50. Kristen was AMAZING!! Anne was a grump. She wasn't friendly, didn't smile the entire time and acted like we were an inconvenience when cashing out Keno winnings. She doesn't have anything on KiKi! If I had to say anything it would be they're one of the most underrated and underestimated places on the beach! Great value. You don't have to be a member to eat there. Maybe Anne just had a bad day but we'll be back again! The happy hour specials look great and cheap!“
“I CANNOT believe that there are ANY BAD reviews for this restaurant!!! The staff was Fabulous & the food was outrageously AMAZING!!! We had the admirals platter.(flounder shrimp scallops…) and fried oysters- all to die for!!!! Don’t let me forget the awesome hand cut fries!Yes it’s a bit more expensive but I’m more than willing to pay extra for this quality all-way-round.Thanks to Aleah & all the other peeps making it great!!“
“I don't know what it is but there are new menu options and the quality of food and service has improved. For years, the food was consistently inconsistent but now its improving. I am very happy that my local hangout has taken to turn for the better. I appluad the staff and management. Best wings in Manteo!“
“If you are visiting OBX - swing by Surfin' Spoon. Staff are friendly and the decor is modern chic (Cali vibe). I love the money you see all around the establishment...place a quarter or dollar and it will be donated to Surfin' for Autism :) They have seating indoor, outdoor and a few parking spaces. They have their homemade sammie's (ice scream sandwiches/vegan and non vegan). Their self serve yogurt/custard are delicious and they have a good selections of toppings. They are really organized with line management (so it won't get too crazy) but you will be waiting - well worth it.“
