“We have been getting Duck donuts here at the original store since 2011. Yesterday I went in to get our first order of the vacation week. We always vacation last week of August and it usually includes my son’s bday. He’ll be 17 on Saturday and heads off to college in a year. We told him we will pause OBX next summer since we don’t know exactly where he’ll go to college. I literally cried ordering my donuts yesterday to the owner and how much Duck OBX has met to our family memories for 13 years! Duck is all about traditions to us. Sunrise, sunsets, crabbing, and of course Duck Donuts! We have loved watching this business turn in to a national franchise. What a beautiful success story. 🍩 🍩🍩🍩“

“What a great place. It is bright and airy. They do have outdoor seating and even though it was 55 degrees with a 25 mph wind, there were people eating on the deck.

Our waiter, Carlos, is great. Smiling, friendly and polite and makes great recommendations.

My husband had the fish and chips (salt and vinegar). I had the gumbo and a side of sweet potato fries. So really good. My husband also had the Screwball expresso martini. Wowza!“

“Ok - if yall haven’t been, or if you have been but you get sandwiches every time you go, I highly recommend you try their enormous “jumbo smoked chicken wings!”  I love their Italian, and they have great brisket and barbecue, but the “cackalacky wings” were awesome! AND - if Steven is working and you want them spicy hot, tell Molly at the register and she will have him hook you up! AND they have the battered fries that my wife loves so it’s a win-win! AND - they are one of the only restaurants on the northern end of the Outer Banks open all year. AND - a little birdie told me that sometime in March they will start having breakfast full-time as well!!!“

“We ate here on Friday Oct. 20. Bartender was super friendly. Highly recommend the clam chowder, best we've ever had. I had the Grouper special and it great. My wife had the Tuna, was super pleased, cooked perfect and not many places get it right. They did. Chef was great to talk to. She explained a lot as we sat at the bar waiting for our food. Backyard bar was our kind of place. The band had to cancel because of rain but It would have been a great place to see one. Will go back next time we are in Duck. Thanks for a great experience.“

“Awesome small local coffee roaster. Had a fresh drip dark-roast coffee - which is my go to when I find a good roaster. Took home a pound of fresh-roasted beans as well. Staff was friendly and helpful. Highly recommend if you are a coffee lover!“

“Off the Wall was our first stop when we arrived in town and we made it our last stop on our way out! I wish I would’ve gotten the name of the guy who works in the front because he was great. He was so nice and helpful that I thought he was the owner. All of the food we tried was really good, I highly recommend the burger and fries. Also, being able to try any of the beers was a lot of fun. We are looking forward to visiting again soon!!“

“This is a don’t judge a book by its cover kind of place. The service was amazing…very friendly and Welcoming atmosphere. The food was amazing, hot, and fresh. Now the wait for the food was a little long but when you taste the food you will know why. I did not get the cooks name, but he made this food with so much love and care. The customer service from the person who greeted us to our waitress that served us was great…..This is a place to stop if you ever traveling in the Carolina’s. “🚨 🚨 ‼️ ‼️ Long Post Alert so just a heads up if you want a read ahead of your stay or if you’re a local and just want to know what the inlanders feel about this local gem on the shores of the Outer Banks. My wife and I spent our honeymoon last week in KH and all we can say about this place is, our bank probably thinks we moved in there. But for Good reason. From the time you walk in the door and are greeted by the hosts, to taking a peak in the gift shop. There is everything for everyone in this convenient beachside bar and restaurant. We made our way to the back side of the bar and were immediately greeted by Ryan who explained what the daily specials were and offered us a cocktail, all the while with a smile on his face. We chose the 1/2 lb shrimp, and as much shrimp as we ate at some other locations (over 20) this right here…hands down best on the coast. The ambiance is inviting and rewarding with just the step up from your seat and you have a beautiful view of the famous dunes and the Atlantic. The conscience of this place is unmatched. Once your belly’s are good and full, you’re just a few steps away from your toes in the sand and what better way to walk of some great food than with your toes in the water. We also dabbled in other specials of the day, unique beachside cocktails and I promise you, some of the BEST conversations with locals and bartenders alike. Not to mention the upstairs open air bar and seating where we met Jacob. One of the other bartenders who told us his in time the day prior. As we were planning our evening the next morning we said “wait Jacob’s upstairs tomorrow. it’s a pretty evening tonight, let’s go to the top Bar.” Needless to say, away we went. Consistency. Consistency. Consistency. Everywhere you look. Every food item you see. Every conversation you have. Everything about it is what makes this place so very special and truly only 1/1 in my opinion! To the Management, Staff and Owners of this wonderful restaurant…please keep up what you’re doing. It works and it’s made the most positive of impressions on me and my Wife. “Had a really excellent brunch style breakfast...pancakes, French toast, eggs, bacon, hash browns with bananas and whipped cream on the side. Wow. Everything was super. The hot sauces are great too. Outstanding service even though the place was crowded. My only complaint is the place is kind of cramped and noisy but that's obviously how their customers like it!“

“Went to Barry’s while in NC. The hotel was super cute with different themes. The atmosphere was cool with the old hunt lodge feel. The food & drinks were great. We loved the outdoor area and dock. Highly recommend!“
