“Tl;Dr: The best restaurant in Duck. That’s it. Nothing else comes closeThis restaurant does not only just produce tremendous food, but they do it consistently. I am writing this review after visiting the paper canoe for the 3rd time. I have ordered different menu items, while my partner has only ordered the scallops as “they have the best scallops I’ve ever had in my life”. She has gone so far as to stop ordering scallops elsewhere as The Paper Canoe has ruined all other scallops for her, as they are just so good.The paper canoe is one of the, if not the best restaurant we have dined at. The atmosphere is top tier, and if you book your reservations the right time, you’ll be able to watch the sun set while you dine.The beauty of nature, mixed with the pure culinary skill of the chef, and the professionalism of the staff make this so much more than a restaurant, it’s an experience.I can not recommend The Paper Canoe enough. 15/10And attached are photos of the scallop entree, the cast iron shrimp and grits, and the sweet and sour lemonade w/ edible straw”

“BEST PORK CHOP EVER. So what if I order a pork chop at ever restaurant that boasts one. I expect pork perfection - and The Blue Point achieved it. Pork excellence! This chop was beyond good. It had this crust with a bacon essence that just made me laugh it was so good. And the bread pudding had the perfect savoriness. Oh my word! It’s a must try! My hubs got the crab cakes - also VERY GOOD. But the night belonged to Porky-God rest his soul. He was VERY good.”

“This place is out of this world! First‐ our server, Luke, was top notch. He was kind, helpful, and friendly. We ordered the the Chef special which is a sampling of a majority of their their menu. 7ish items. I am from the mountains and not a big seafood fan but we scarfed everything in front of us. All the food was seasoned to perfection. Lastly, the beignets as dessert were delicious! As a vacationer, I would come back to OBX just for this restaurant.”

“In the area, it's hard to find places that stay open past 4 or 5 during off season. If you're on the hunt for coffee, you're pretty much out of luck if it's not morning time. You can get Starbucks up in Corolla until 4pm in the Harris Teeter, but other than that, you'll have to drive about a half hour. That is, unless you go to Sweet T's. We decided to give it a try and were very glad we did. The caramel Macchiato was different than Starbucks, but very good. I liked my Chai tea latte I usually like it strong, but this one was pretty mild, and actually hit the spot for an evening beverage. The atmosphere was very nice, and the lady behind the counter was very attentive and polite.”

“Very nice restaurant with lovely views of the sound, stellar kitchen and attentive, friendly service. Great local beers on tap and good wine list. I've never had any food here that wasn't great, even a simple salad or a burger. A go-to for dining in Duck, be it casual or special occasion.”

“Our family tried this place for the first time a few weeks ago while on vacation and we were so impressed with the quality of their service, food and establishment that we went back a second time before we left.Ordering online is so convenient and they had our order ready on time. The food kept well back to our hotel in Corolla. The staff was friendly and made sure to package our to go order in easy to carry bags.Inside they have plenty of temptations of desserts and snacks. Also some cool souvenirs. If you're looking for the cutest ducks, this your place.This will definitely be our go to place to get some good food when we're visiting the OBX.”

“Down to Duck for my annual visit got the Shrimp platter this time. PLENTY OF SHRIMP AND FRENCH FRIES. Little bit of a wait but overall good service. Recommend to anyone staying in Duck area.”

“We ate here on Friday Oct. 20. Bartender was super friendly. Highly recommend the clam chowder, best we've ever had. I had the Grouper special and it great. My wife had the Tuna, was super pleased, cooked perfect and not many places get it right. They did. Chef was great to talk to. She explained a lot as we sat at the bar waiting for our food. Backyard bar was our kind of place. The band had to cancel because of rain but It would have been a great place to see one. Will go back next time we are in Duck. Thanks for a great experience.”

“They have one dairy-free option which is strawberry sorbet. It is homemade with fresh strawberries and it was a little too sweet. We also got the chocolate and chocolate peanut butter and it was delicious. They also have espresso Frozen drinks which are delicious. The lemonade strawberry drink is also delicious with fresh strawberries sorbet mixed in with lemonade.”

“Food was pricey but very good with pretty generous size portions. I think they were just getting started for the season so normally there was only 1 server working the roomOften there was no host at the front. The kitchen was very slow.”

“Wonderful food, atmosphere and people. They were honest about the wait being about an hour and we sat at the outside bar and watched the sunet while we waited for a table. Our waiter was Todd, who was hands down amazing and made my mom's birthday special. will definitely come back.”

“me and my family have been coming here for many years and we come to this place every time. his sense of humour is so funny and you guys are just snowflakes. there ices are soooo good as well as there ice cream this guy is not rude if you guys can take a joke. stop being snowflakes and grow up.”

“This is a local gem! I have only tried their coffee, no food. I've tried the red dawn with multiple different brews (high tide is my fave), white chocolate raspberry iced coffee, cappuccino, and south swell iced coffee. All of which were phenomenal! Service is great and fast. The shop is adorable with local art for sale. I live a bit far but have made an excuse to be on this side of the beach almost once a week for a special treat! Highly recommend!!”

“Found this place a few years ago stuck in traffic on the way out so figured why not grab some coffee and breakfast. Great little spot. Our most recent visit for the weekend we got coffee and breakfast each day. The staff is still as friendly as I remembered years ago. We opted to get our dog a pup cup this time. She loved it. Haven't had anything I didn't like yet. We'll be back not sure when but we will be.”

“We ordered inside and sat outside in the back because we had our dog with us and Arts Place has a wonderful backyard for furbabies! When our food was ready they called us to come up front to pickup, the inside dining room was full. The burgers were delicious as always. We stop here a few times a year!”

“The food here was lights out some of the best seafood I've had. The crab bisque was spicy and rich, softshell crab tacos and nachos were loaded up. They give you loads of perfectly cooked, delicious seafood. The wait staff was attentive and charming - we all really enjoyed everything about this place.”

“Delicious! I think that is the best word to describe the experience. It was packed when I went with my family, and from the moment we entered, the smell of fresh, freshly made food enveloped us. I mention this because I am very susceptible to smells, and my tasting experience begins with aromas. I also have to highlight the service, which is excellent. When you enter they ask you for a table for how many people and help you choose the place. We were served pretty quickly, everything was hot and freshly made. Be sure to order the fries, they have a technique to sauté them with garlic and cilantro and they still remain crispy, they are phenomenal!The nacho starter was enough for me as a main course. My husband ordered the burger in a tortilla. I tried it and it was equally delicious.
