“Cozy place to sit down and do some work in, prices are Starbucks prices so I'd say just nothing special, but they never mess up my name so doing well there. Great smell in there though, and nice seats to sit in. Baristas are nice and friendly and the atmosphere is great.”
“I ventured to Poppyseeds Bagels, a spot hailed by many as the zenith of bagel craftsmanship in Charlotte. The anticipation was palpable as I joined a modest queue of fellow bagel aficionados – a promising sign.Upon entering, I was greeted by a smorgasbord of pastries and a treasure trove of house-made cream cheeses, flaunting an array of tantalizing flavors. The chorus of orders for the Bacon, Egg, and Cheese sandwich echoed through the space, a testament to its local fame. However, I stayed true to my roots and chose the classic New York staple: an egg bagel (un-toasted, as any true bagel connoisseur would prefer) adorned with lox and cream cheese, accompanied by a pickle and a side of macaroni salad. While the bagel’s crust provided that quintessential New York-style crunch and chew, the filling left a bit to be desired. The cream cheese, shyly clinging to one side of the bagel, could have used a partner in crime on the other half. And the lox? Let’s just say a couple more slices wouldn’t have gone amiss in achieving that perfect briny balance. While this culinary experience was a nod to New York’s bagel legacy, it fell short of the high bar set by the legendary New York Old School Bagel & Deli, the undisputed champion in Charlotte’s bagel arena. Poppyseeds, with its commendable effort, earns the bronze in my personal bagel Olympics.Should fate lead me back to this corner of Charlotte, a return visit to Poppyseeds isn’t off the table. After all, the pursuit of the perfect bagel is a journey, not a destination.”
“Everything about this place says Italian from the decor, the friendliness, food and service! I had the chicken parmesan with Spagetti and a canolli to go. I will be back.”
“I absolutely love the chicken paella. One of the best ones we have tried. We had a great night and even better thanks to the service that Randy provided. Thank you Randy for being so nice to us!”
“John's Place always produces good food and a pleasant dining experience. The bar is full service, and it is a good place to watch the game. I enjoy their specialty steaks and pork chops. The pasta is always good. I like their Margarita pizza, as well as, white pizza. I would like to see a side salad option instead of ordering a full salad. The drive thru window is convenient for pickup ordering. I like the selection of beer on tap, and the bartenders are top notch.”
“*Yes this is a high end place. But the food is very much worth it.Food is phenomenal.*Any Steak you get is going to be amazing. My Seak was perfect Medium Rare, sooo tender and the flavor is going to be hard to match at any other steak house. “We get take out from this Chex every Friday and it’s always so amazing!! The service is great, the employees Margo and the other guy cashier are so nice. We will keep seeing them every Friday! We love you guys!!”
“Their black bean burger was super fresh, tender, and moist. Yummy to the tummy! The schiracha-aioli sauce went well with it. The folks taking my order were really friendly and helpful, and the place was clean. They managed to make good-tasting fast food from vegan ingredients.Vegetarian options: All vegan.Dietary restrictions: They do sell fountain drinks.Kid-friendliness: Plenty of sunlight comes through the windows.”

“I really like the food, the attention they have and especially the help from Dayanara because it is in my language. Thank you for the help. I love it. I highly recommend it.”
“My husband and I had a great experience at Viva Chicken Ballantyne! The value of the food was great and everything that we had was delicious! We highly recommend the rotisserie chicken, fried rice, plantain, and yuca fries. The service was also exceptional! Special shout out the manager, Trey, who went above and beyond to ensure every customer was taken care of and had a great experience!”
“Incredible selection of fresh, soft, flavorful pastries and breads! We finished running a 5k in the area and went straight here for celebratory treats! The chocolate donut melted in the mouth but what was most memorable was the gorgeous flavor of the chocolate! We also enjoyed an Ube Latte! I can’t wait to come back!Prices are actually really great when you compare to other cafe prices (like Amelie’s) or even compared to donut shops!Seating indoors is awesome!”
“Curry Place has delicious and authentic Indian cuisine. They have a welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff and by far it’s one of the best Indian restaurants we’ve been too (if not the best)!”
“Went here with friends. This is a first-time experience for us. We had a great waitress who explained how to order and cook food at our table. We were told we could order as much as we wanted and have 2 hours to eat. Any wasted food we didn't consume we would be charged per pound. The food selection was the K pot meals and the BBQ. We could order from both menus but $5 would be extra for the BBQ. Some of the meats such as prime rib or lamb were sliced paper thin, as were the soft tofu, all cooked in less than a minute and were not satisfying. The steak and short ribs were a decent size and fairly tender. Vegetables took the longest time to cook and I suggest to cook them first before one cooks thicker foods. I tried the mushroom soup and didn't like it. But my dining mate ordered the spicey Thai Tom yum soup and liked it. The chicken bulgoki just ok. Overall some items we ordered were satisfying ,others not so much. There was a sauce bar which also had French fries and small fried chicken tenders, all average tasting. There are vegetarian and vegan choices for soups, vegetables and noodles. Plenty of Beef, chicken, seafood , soy and pork items to choose from. Although the restaurant is clean the loud pounding repetitive background instrumental music was not conductive for a relaxing meal. We were glad we experienced this type of dining but decided once was enough for us. It can be a bit overwhelming when raw items placed on a small table area are waiting to be cooked. I suggest get a few items, cook and eat and order more as you wish Our meal per person for both hot pot and BBQ, was $35 .”
“Great place, first time trying it for my gfs bday. Its a nice fancy restaurant that is not too stuffy. The food and service are good and the prices some of the better ones around. Could use an extra item or 2 on the menu more kid/basic dude eating friendly and another dessert or two. We had a great time and it was a great find, we will certainly be back”
“My first murder mystery dinner theater and it was a lot of fun. The actors and hosts were all really nice, we had a great group of people at our table that made it an even better experience.”
“Where do I even begin? Such a cool experience. We are not vegan, but wanted to try this adorable spot. Our table was ready for us right when we walked on decked out with books and coloring activities for my two young kids. Honestly, my son is a SUPER picky eater and tried AND liked everything he ate. It was so much fun watching him explore new flavors and foods with a huge smile on his face. As for my husband and I, we both loved our dishes, as well. The flavors were out of this world. If you haven't checked out this unique spot...you must! Jennifer is a ?.”
“Clean, bright dining area. Yanni is friendly and courteous. Love his French accent! Food is delicious and since I’m vegan, that’s real praise! Have eaten there twice and will surely return. Highly recommend!!!”
“Absolutely love this place. We live close by so this is our favorite spot for breakfast! Food is always amazing, atmosphere is absolutely cute and what I love the most is service.Wes was our server today. We have seen him around many times and today we figure he has been working here for 4+ years! Wes is very pleasant, patience and kind!Very happy we decided to come here. Not much left as the picture shows lol”
“The food was impressive! The Hawaiian French Toast sent me to another dimension. Our server, Zoraida, was so attentive and made my experience 100x better. I’m definitely coming back.”
“I got the chicken banh mi and it was fresh and delicious. Their bread is so good ? I would pass on the bao (filling to bun ratio was a little off) but try their delicious pastries and other tasty dishes.”
“From start to finish, everything was superb! The decor is chic & stylish. The service was exceptionally excellent. The food was very delicious & was executed with the perfect spices & taste. My friend and I shared several tapas and enjoyed every one of them. My favorite was the gnocchi with lamb ragu & her favorite was the pork belly bao bun. I highly recommend this restaurant but be aware that it is small & has maybe 10 or so tables.”
“The service was amazing, our server recommended some really yummy options. The food was chef’s kiss. I recommend anyone to try the beef empatacos omg so yummy! I had the Brazilian lemonade mocktail as well sooo good! This was my first time trying Venezuelan food & I will definitely be back a lot of times in the near future!! Thank you Los Chamos for a wonderful first experience <3”
“Our waitress was a pretty, kind, and efficient mom.. who loved to laugh! I ate the chocolate cake you packaged for me in private. Didn't let my wife judge me. lol See you again, Mr Bill & Ms Mona ?❣️”
“1st time dining at the Oak Steakhouse and I must say they did not disappoint. The food was amazing as well as the service. April was our waitress she went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of. I would also like to point out that everyone that checked on our table was amazing. If you are in the area or are looking for a place for date night the Oak Steakhouse is most definitely a go to. Will be going back!!”
“Love Indian Land Super Chix!!! ❤️ The food is so fresh and delicious. My dad and I especially love their hand-cut fries which is fried in 100% peanut oil. I have a gluten and dairy allergy, so I give major props to our server who was very knowledgeable at identifying what menu items contained those allergens. Definitely recommend if you have food allergies like me or love good food in general ?!Dietary restrictions: For gluten and dairy allergies, go with the grilled tenders or fillet (ask for it in a lettuce wrap). Make sure to mention you have food allergies; they'll make sure to change their gloves and take extra precautions when preparing your order to prevent cross-contamination. Their ketchup, signature sauce, and BBQ are gluten and dairy free as well (NOTE: signature sauce has EGGS).”
“Eggspectation always EXCEEDS my expectation! All of the servers are great, and the food is TERRIFIC! The prices are reasonable and you get more than enough food to eat. You will need a to go box! I'm grateful for this hidden gem that came to our area and will be a frequent customer!”
“Nice and chill hangout spot to enjoy some delicious banh mi! I ordered the "Our Special" banh mi, a Vietnamese iced coffee, and a bulgogi beef bun. The bread had a really nice crunchy exterior and it was nice and soft on the inside. One thing that really stood out to me on this sandwich was the pickled daikon and carrots. They were a little more sweet and acidic than I have had from other places which I loved! The other ingredients were fresh and they made their bread in house which I appreciated.I wasn't a huge fan of the Vietnamese iced coffee but this was just a preference thing. Nothing about it was bad, but I just don't have the palate for it. Mine also wasn't super sweet either, but I believe you can ask them to crank up the sweetness if you would like it to be sweeter. As I was walking out, they were restocking their baked goods shelf, and I was able to snag a bulgogi beef bun! This made me so happy as I had wanted to try one of these after seeing photos of it from other reviews. The bread was super pillowy and the meat inside was extremely flavorful. Enjoying this bun was a great way to end this food experience, and I left happy and full.”
“Used to be my #1 favorite restaurant. Would go to the Sunday brunch buffet whenever I could. Haven't been back since it ended. I keep checking website but looks like it's never coming back. What a shame. However, have found an Indian buffet and Chinese buffet to replace it with and go weekly.”
“My husband and I just finished dinner, and our subs were big and delicious as always. I highly recommend the rosemary parmesan bread! Along with the food, Stephanie and Tommy were very welcoming, friendly, and accommodating. It is obvious that Stephanie enjoys serving Jersey Mike subs, serving customers, and providing each customer with a great experience from the minute they enter the door with her "welcome" to the minute they leave with her "see you next time!" Thank you for another tasty Tuesday night dinner!Dietary restrictions: very accommodating”
