I went last night. I got there around 10. First our server was AMAZING! She was very on point. We tipped her $30 but when I got home I just felt like she deserved more. That’s how GREAT she was. The atmosphere was great until about 12:30am……It started getting PACKED & a little wild so we ordered our food and left. The music before 12:30am was a great vibe. Simply Sonya’s Restaurant & Lounge is a great chill spot in Winston Salem with GREAT Food. The customer service is extraordinary, and the staff is super friendly. Sonya herself greeted guests and was so friendly and personal. The food is delicious and made to order. The soul food eggroll for appetizers is cooked perfectly and delicious on their own or with Sonya’s dipping sauce. The whitening fish, fried okra, and collard greens are all cooked to perfection. The fried chicken is the best ever, with collards so good the collard juice was drank. The macaroni and cheese is perfect, and the cabbage and wings are perfect too. Quantity is more than enough. The atmosphere and music are great. It is a wonderful business with real homemade cooking, good prices, and a very nice and inviting place.
