“We went to Kipling's last night and it was wonderful. We were greeted very warmly and the atmosphere was a lovely, well kept, old tavern atmosphere. We had fries as an appetizer, I had a burger and my husband had a fried chicken sandwich, both on delicious local brioche and with a side of yummy caesar salad. For desert we had the chocolate bombe, which was also fantastic. We didn't have to wait long for each course; they were well timed. Will definitely be going back next time we're in Brattleboro!“
“This is the best dining experience I've had in ages. First, the chef deserves a Michelin star or two. I've been to Michelin-starred restaurants that don't compare to this one in terms of food. Second, an intimate atmosphere and an open kitchen where you can watch the craftsmanship of the chef make it really unique. The restaurant is worth traveling for.“
“The fries were a huge amount for the price and for a little bit more we got their cheese sauce on them. It's everything we ever wanted from cheese fries. Tasted just like childhood concession stand cheese fries if not better. Amazing! Great price and great food!“
“Enjoyed lunch with excellent, attentive and accommodating service; very friendly indeed. Food was amazing: I ordered the potato garlic soup ... a delectable puree -- that beautifully coated the spoon -- with a hint of sweet garlic, that was above expectations. I enjoyed a Caesar salad with dressing on the side ... came with shaved pieces of parmesan cheese over crisp Romaine lettuce ... the dressing was mild and thick ... a lovely compliment to the homemade soup. Great dining experience. moderately priced. Highly recommend.“
“We are pleased to share our experience at NEH for our son’s wedding rehearsal dinner! Both Selma and Kurt were amazingly accommodating to work with as we planned this event! When the power went out we thought that the event would be a bust. However, Kurt, (owner and chef) managed to pull off cooking all of the 16 meals . We had everything from apps to desserts served by waitstaff using flashlights on their phones. Truly an event to remember! According to the 4- year old flower girl “This is so fun, just like camping!”In summary, the food was amazing, everyone was great to work with and it was still a wonderful event regardless of the weather !❤️Thank you New England House….Kurt and Selma and staff!John and Linda Rowell“
“Our server Shayla was amazing. She was knowledgeable about the menu and gave great recommendations. We ordered the oysters Rockefeller appetizer. They were done just right. I had the hangar steak which you could cut with a butter knife. My partner had the seafood risotto which she loved. We shared the sticky toffee pudding and let's say it was the best I ever had. Definitely will be coming back and recommend it to anyone looking for a good meal with great service. The ambiance of the restaurant is nice and we loved the music in the background.“
“The Restaurant is what I'm reviewing: It has an old nostalgic New England Charm unsurpassed by any of the areas wonderous old properties. You will adore their Clam Chowder, and they have wonderful Seafood in general. Overall, I can not WAIT to head back to this gem :)Food & drinks: Its somewhat pricey, so be ready to pay up, BUT they have a romantic Fireplace in Winter that cheers the soul. [A] drinks are available upon request.“
“Bar tender Maddie was great, atmosphere was pleasant. Quiet, warm and cozy. Great food. I had shrimp scampi, well made, good flavor, great portion, and nice presentation on plate. Full bar, specialty cocktails, good variety of beers on tap. Will be going back to try their brunch on Saturdays and Sundays.“
“What are cute place to have a wonderful lunch at a beautiful setting. As we left the restaurant, we saw an apartment building next to restaurant - I said to my wife, "if I lived in that building, I think I'd be eating at the Marina everyday!" On the day of our visit, we started by taking some pictures right at the waterfront edge - we got some beautiful photos, and even saw a few people out kayaking on the water. Once we sat down, our waiter Adam quickly approached and offered drinks and a few specials for the holiday. We had the ham and haddock entrees, both of which were tasty and accompanied by vegetables and mashed potatoes. The entire meal including drinks, tip and tax still averaged less than $30 per person which is a value for all that was delivered. This restaurant is about a mile from the downtown Brattleboro area, but well worth a small trip for a beautiful view, great service, and wonderful food.“
“The waitress was great. The food was good. A little pricey.Parking: Plenty of space in lotWheelchair accessibility: My wife was using a walker after knee surgery. Several handicap spots available. No help from the staff in storing the walker.“
“I really enjoy hanging out at this place. They have an incredible selection of draft beers and a good variety of tasty snacks. I prefer sitting out back on the deck, it’s super chill. We like to stop in on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon and have a beer or two and just relax.“
“Food was delicious, the music was bopping 50s and 60s hits but not too loud, and the waitress was just LOVELY! A very friendly and welcoming place. My only issue is that there was a TV playing (muted, but on). With my, and my son's, ADHD its difficult for us to focus on family conversation with that distraction In view. But that is very much just a ME issue that others may have no problem with. Overall, thumbs up!“
