“Food is very different from the original place Mahzu which is to be expected as it is a different place. Here at Kobe, the hibachi is over sauced and salty and the shrimp and filet mignon is not good quality. The tempura rolls are over fried. The fried rice and noodles are bland and are cooked with way too much margarine or lard as they call it which is a bit greasy and bland. Bring back Mazhu cooks! Nicely decorated. Staff is attentive and friendly.“

The very first think I noticed was how friendly and inviting the staff is, they make you feel welcome the second that you step into their establishment. The second thing I noticed was the how the new renovation which makes you want to come in and have a seat at a table or sit at the sushi bar to watch the sushi master construct your order before your eyes. I am impressed with the addition of this new business to Amboy Ave. The food is fresh, top-quality ingredients prepared by a world class chief and sushi master. I had lunch there yesterday and today. Oh, and did I mention that Kanpachi is a BYOB establishment? Sushi steak and Hibachi lovers, do yourself a favor and get over there. “Omakase Ichi offers a very solid omakase experience with high-quality ingredients and thoughtful presentation. The fish was fresh and well-prepared, and several courses really stood out for both flavor and balance.

Service was excellent — attentive, knowledgeable, and paced the meal well without making it feel rushed. Staff were happy to explain each course, which added to the experience. The atmosphere is more simple and low-key than upscale, but still comfortable enough to enjoy the meal.

“Had a really great experience at this sushi spot! The sushi and sashimi were very fresh and absolutely delicious — you can really taste the quality.

It’s a nice little café with a cozy atmosphere, and the staff is very polite and friendly, which makes the whole experience even better.

The beef bento box was very good — flavorful, well-prepared, and satisfying. The presentation was also beautiful; even the service plates were very nice and thoughtfully arranged.

“I have become a returning customer here after moving to NC 4 years ago. The food is incredible and of excellent quality. The staff is friendly and respectful. After reading the negative reviews, I'm not sure how anyone could complain about the portion sizes - slowing down to really savor the flavor of the fish is something i'd suggest for them.“
