“Dog Day is a truly special place and the reason I moved to the neighborhood. I otherwise consider myself a vegetarian of 8 years. These hot dogs are divine any time of the year, but here’s my advice:

On a crisp fall day, don’t eat until 2pm. Have two Chicago dogs and a milkshake, then walk through the park. A cure-all.

Last October I had a great conversation with a zombie witch who shared my table. It told me to always, always answer when I hear the hot dogs calling. Sometimes I hear the dog’s call ringing through Greenwood Cemetery treetops at night and I have to wait up all night in a cold sweat praying for noon to arrive.“

“First noticed while watching the movie Fools rush in. Since my last name is Gray I always wanted to go there. Been there in 2010 the first time and immediately fell in love. A couple a weeks ago I went to New York on short notice and the first thing on my to do list was going there. Say what you want. Those are the best hot dogs on the planet. “Got the half mozzarella, half beef dog with the potato coating and it hit the spot. Super crispy on the outside, cheesy and juicy on the inside. It is one of those things where you take a bite and immediately want another.

He was super respectful, down to earth, and great with the kids. His hot dogs tasted great and offered many different toppings/condiments. “I’ve tried over a dozen Halal carts in the city, and this one has by far the best chicken over rice. Once you try it, you’ll go out of your way to come here every time you crave halal.

The chicken is juicy and always perfectly flavored and cooked. All ingredients are fresh. The sauces are great, and the red sauce is VERY spicy (love it)

The folks running it are super friendly and the cart is kept clean.

“I don’t know why this isn’t rated higher. This is an insanely good burger joint. The burger is savory and perfectly sauced with just a hint of pepperyness on the sauce that brings out a ton of flavor. The fries were perfectly golden and crispy on the outside and fluffy inside.

“I recently visited Locos Burgers, and it was amazing. From the moment I walked in, I could immediately feel the welcoming atmosphere. It was as if I were back at home. I decided to try out their Salchipapa Loca, and it did not disappoint. The flavors were savory and perfectly seasoned, hitting all the right spots in every bite. The combination of crispy fries, savory meat, cheese, and the delicious sauces on top was a real treat. Not to mention, Yari, the main waiter who served me was fantastic.
