“In a world of make-believe Italian restaurants, Il Portico is one of the standout authentic destinations in the entire region. Upon walking through the entryway, you take a step back in time and tempo. It is rustic and charming enough for romantic dinners but equally appealing for larger, lively gatherings! Expect excellent service at the tables or the bar (thank you for the wonderful drinks, Nadia!) and incredibly delicious food prepared with the utmost care. Everything is cooked to order. Even the pasta and mozzarella cheese is homemade. Our table ordered everything from lobster bisque soup to pasta with Bolognese sauce and veal cutlet. Everything was perfectly presented and full of mouth-watering flavor, texture, and aroma. Topping it all off, this place has excellent live music every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday each week. Before dining this evening, I had the pleasure of listening to Tony O. perform a wide variety of highly entertaining tunes that you may not expect to hear. His music is refreshing to the ear as it doesn't overpower the room while you're conversing with those around you, but it punches through just enough to get your attention. You'll find yourself tapping your toes or maybe even singing along, and he'll always take a break to acknowledge those special birthdays in the house. You will only find this unique experience at Il Portico, so whether you come for the food and stay for the music, or come for the music and stay for the food, either option is sure to be an experience worth repeating over and over again!
