“Went for a seafood boil and food was good the flavors were good. The only problem was the girl at the front. She's frumpy looking. Acted like I was bothering her when I wanted to pay. She's so relaxed and it's not a good look to paying customers. She never came back to check on us. She just had a whatever attitude.“

“So we went there for my son’s birthday which is today 10/25. Guzman was the chef. He was very attentive to the kids allergies. He cooked our food to perfection and entertained the guests very well. Jackie was our waitress she was pretty cool too. She bought the food out nice and hot and kept the drinks coming. Must say my son was super impressed and happy. “I had the honor privilege and luck of being the very first customer to be served at Kanpachi Sushi during their grand opening on 4/29/2022. The very first think I noticed was how friendly and inviting the staff is, they make you feel welcome the second that you step into their establishment. The second thing I noticed was the how the new renovation which makes you want to come in and have a seat at a table or sit at the sushi bar to watch the sushi master construct your order before your eyes. I am impressed with the addition of this new business to Amboy Ave. The food is fresh, top-quality ingredients prepared by a world class chief and sushi master. I had lunch there yesterday and today. Oh, and did I mention that Kanpachi is a BYOB establishment? Sushi steak and Hibachi lovers, do yourself a favor and get over there. I am making this my go to spot for lunch or dinner, I give Kanpachi 5 stars. Thank you for picking Amboy Ave to open your sushi house.“

“Highly disappointed went in with a pert of 5 to celebrate a party which was explained. While having our starters waitress informs us they if we don’t mind them adding 2 of their customers to our table so that the same chef will cook for us together.The hibachi grill part only had another party with us being the second & all other tables were empty. We told her we don’t feel comfortable with that and reminded her we are here for a party. So she comes back telling us her manager said it will have to be that way and we left. I can’t be believe that lost 5 customers over 2 and they even had the nerve to tell us to move over for them to add 2 people we didn’t know to our table. If the tables were all full we would have understood why but the whole place was empty. I would never recommend this place to anyone“

“This place is truly a hidden gem on Staten Island! I visited on my birthday, and the staff made it special with a handwritten card at my seat. The food was incredible, with 70% of ingredients imported directly from Japan. The entire team was welcoming and friendly, and the service was outstanding. Overall, it was a fantastic experience with great food and atmosphere.“

“Nothing beats enjoying the sushi at the restaurant but due to the covid pandemic and with an abundance of caution for safety the restaurant is takeout only. Regardless, Mr. Bin's is our "go-to" sushi place. We routinely travel from Union to Cranford because it's that good! The freshness is evident with every bite. The presentation of the sushi is perfect. I miss hanging with Mr. Bin at the restaurant and looking forward that once again. Especially his "special" selections that he surprises me with.“

“The atmosphere is nice i recommend going in the night just my opinion and the service is very well they are quick service and provide many different varieties of good food.

Kid-friendliness: For kids there are kid friendly learning chopsticks and as an adult I still use them but they make it’s very nicely and there are some good food options for kids especially if u have a picky one!“

“I use to live at 66 Rutgers, Umi was the best place for Sushi. Every evening after school, me and ma would spend our money on Sushi. I always get Spicy Crab Meat and it was perfect. It’s not too spicy but was just enough to satisfy your taste buds. The atmosphere was calm and collected, unless you place an order ahead of time, it can take about 30 minutes, but for me, the wait was worth it. In fact, for how long I went there for sushi, I forgot they also served wings. I didn’t get them personally, but I heard great things about them. If you’re in the area of Bayonne, this is a definite must see“

“Like their sushi(especially specialty ones). Usually, do takeout. My last takeout was delayed for 40 min(first time ever) due to absolute "customer jam". Usually, they are half empty when I order, this time, they were packed, and there was a line waiting too.So despite huge delay - still 5 stars.. They provided me a small table after it became available, brought some tea while I waited, and even added some extras while being absolutely apologetic for the whole issue. Have no hard feeling whatsoever - guys really try their very best.“

“I dined her the other night around 7 pm with a party of 7. Overall the food was excellent, service was acceptable, and the atmosphere felt comfortable. I was pleased to see the family photos in the entryway, as it gave the establishment a feeling of warmth and welcoming. The dinner menu is typical of what I’ve come to expect at any sushi restaurant, however I was surprised to see that they did not have any special roll combos as part of dinner. This did not take away from the quality of the food or the dining experience but just something that stuck out to me.“

Our favorites are their Spicy Salmon Alvarado Salad, 18 pcs Sashimi Bowl, and Shrimp Fried Rice. Prices are very reasonable and the quality of food is exceptional! It's usually $30 a person on weekends for all you can eat and around $28 on weekdays. Service is always great sometimes they'll forget to put something in but not too big of a deal. This place is bring your own so you can bring your own liquor. Menu options are great and parking is easy too. I'd definitely recommend this place
