“This is a great little café/diner right next to the Westfield train station. We are fairly new to Westfield and went there for the first time a couple of weeks ago. We were wowed by the wonderful customer service of our waitress, Cindy. She was very attentive, provided great order suggestions and also brought over their delicious housemade hot sauce to go along with our eggs. All the food we ordered was wonderful, including the short stack of chocolate chip pancakes, the egg and cheese sandwich on a hard roll, and the Florentine omelette. The chef (maybe owner?), Ash even stopped by later on towards the end of our meal to check on how everything was. We meant to write this review right after that, but then never got around to it and when we went back today a few weeks later, we realized how much we needed to write this up! This time Kirsten and Cindy both helped us out, and Cindy remembered us by our orders from the last time even though we had only been here one time- very impressive and shows a great attention to detail and customer service. Ash came by also, and it was clear he remembered us as well. The food was fresh and tasty yet again (we got the French toast, egg and cheese sandwich, and Greek omelette this time) and the prices are great. This place is a gem and is definitely becoming one of our go-to spots!“

“I came to First Watch for the very first time last Thursday and had an outstanding experience. Sheila was my server and could not have been more helpful, kind, and patient. I’m usually indecisive, but Sheila guided me by suggesting, “You could get the best of both worlds with 2 for you,” which was perfect. I chose the Roast Beef & Havarti (she recommended having the roast beef heated, and it was spot on) along with the Chicken Avocado Chop Salad. The food was excellent, but the service truly stood out. Sheila had a smile on her face the entire time, which brightened my day before class. I highly recommend both this restaurant and Sheila as your server!

“Went with the wife after picking up our painted clay from Color Me Mine nearby. We were impressed by the colorful chalk menu up on the wall, with a limited yet delightful selection of salads and sandwiches.

We ordered the BLAT and the Mona Lisa sandwiches, along with the Vermont salad.

The staff are very friendly and take your order almost immediately, even with a line. The drinks we ordered were prepared right on the spot and ready in no time.

The sandwiches themselves were ready in about 10-15 minutes, fresh and hot

All the ingredients were incredibly fresh and high quality, and at a reasonable price as well. Averaging at $12 per sandwich, we were left full and satisfied.

The same can be said for the salad, which was quite delectable.

“This was my first time eating at this Texas Weiner joint and was the second of four Texas Weiner spots we visited on the day. They are a family owned and operated restaurant for over 50 years. The interior is a bit animated with its menu signs and had the second largest seating capacity of the four places. While not very large there was more than enough seating available. \n\nThis Texas Weiner-only tour included four luncheonettes located in Dunellen, Middlesex and Plainfield. Our order included a classic Texas Weiner up that were graded according to Texos Weineros’ 8 Commandments:\n-\tThou shalt not serve a hot dog with no snap or shorter than thy bun\n-\tThou shalt only serve quality hot dogs made from beef and/or pork\n-\tThy hot dog must not taste like the salt of the earth\n-\tThou shalt serve hot dogs on fresh, traditional hot dog rolls\n-\tThy hot dog roll shall never the star of the meal\n-\tThou shalt not serve watery sauce or sauce without depth of flavor\n-\tThou shalt mince thy sweet onion and not chop them\n-\tThou shalt serve brown deli mustard\n\nWhat I Liked:\n-\tThe hot dog was all beef\n-\tThe hot dog bun was fresh and was not the star of the meal\n-\tThe Texas Weiner sauce had a good depth of flavor\n-\tThe onions were sweet. “Best waffles I’ve ever had. Not sure what they put in the batter but I’ve never had a waffle that tastes as good as the ones here.

All the other breakfast sandwiches are also really good, and the prices are very reasonable. I’ve only had their breakfast so I can’t comment on their other food.

I’d mostly recommend takeout here, yes there is a seating area but it’s kind of small.
