“This was my first time eating at this Texas Weiner joint and was the second of four Texas Weiner spots we visited on the day. They are a family owned and operated restaurant for over 50 years. The interior is a bit animated with its menu signs and had the second largest seating capacity of the four places. While not very large there was more than enough seating available. \n\nThis Texas Weiner-only tour included four luncheonettes located in Dunellen, Middlesex and Plainfield. Our order included a classic Texas Weiner up that were graded according to Texos Weineros’ 8 Commandments:\n-\tThou shalt not serve a hot dog with no snap or shorter than thy bun\n-\tThou shalt only serve quality hot dogs made from beef and/or pork\n-\tThy hot dog must not taste like the salt of the earth\n-\tThou shalt serve hot dogs on fresh, traditional hot dog rolls\n-\tThy hot dog roll shall never the star of the meal\n-\tThou shalt not serve watery sauce or sauce without depth of flavor\n-\tThou shalt mince thy sweet onion and not chop them\n-\tThou shalt serve brown deli mustard\n\nWhat I Liked:\n-\tThe hot dog was all beef\n-\tThe hot dog bun was fresh and was not the star of the meal\n-\tThe Texas Weiner sauce had a good depth of flavor\n-\tThe onions were sweet. Sweet, minced onions always work better on a Texas Weiner.\n-\tThe brown deli mustard was very good and was available at the table\n\nWhat I Did Not Like\n-\tThe hot dog had no snap and was a tad salty\n-\tThe hot dog barely extended the roll on each end\n-\tThe Texas Weiner sauce was a bit watery\n-\tThe onions could have been minced finer\n-\tThe brown deli mustard was not available at the table\n\nMy overall restaurant rating is 8.1/10 and ended up being our #3 Texas Weiner restaurant on the day. My Hot Diggity Dog rating is 7.9/10 Barks. It ended up being our #3 Texas Weiner on the day.“

“Best waffles I’ve ever had. Not sure what they put in the batter but I’ve never had a waffle that tastes as good as the ones here.

All the other breakfast sandwiches are also really good, and the prices are very reasonable. I’ve only had their breakfast so I can’t comment on their other food.

I’d mostly recommend takeout here, yes there is a seating area but it’s kind of small.

“Had breakfast here early on a Saturday with a friend. Food was good for sure. However, EVERY person working at this restaurant attended to us. We had a hard time finishing one sentence of our conversation without being asked how things were or if we wanted more coffee. I'm serious, no fewer than 6 people visited our table. Our waitress, Marissa, was personable and helpful; she was taking care of us very well. The 1-star for atmosphere was because the OWNER came to our table and asked if we wanted more coffee. I declined, but my friend accepted. I swear she did this just to make him go away as Marissa had offered us coffee moments before and she'd declined. THEN WE OVERHEAR the manager giving Marissa a hard time because we ACCEPTED COFFEE. His assumption was that she had not been attending to us instead of understanding that women know that the male ego has a hard time with the word NO. Not only should management not be giving a good waitress a hard time, they certainly should not do it where customers can hear. Gross!“

“I have been to blue cafe on many occasions and it has always been pleasant. The food has always been good and I appreciate the wide array of beverage options.

They are small and quaint in their atmosphere. I particularly enjoy breakfast outdoors when the weather is good. They do unfortunately get very busy on the weekends and do not take reservations. The last time we came on a weekend we did have a decent wait for our table and then a very long wait for our food even after being seated. The table next to us actually left without eating due to the delay in orders coming out.

My favorite items are the Paris Breakfast or the Blintzes. A very cozy spot on a rainy Tuesday morning.“

“My hubby and I came here for lunch. Once we sat down, we were immediately greeted by our server Austin. I cannot tell you how amazing he was. From the second we sat down until the moment we left, he was outstanding. Friendly, professional, knowledgeable about the food and patient. He gave such great suggestions and I followed his suggestions. I got the quesadilla and my hubby got the rise and shine. Both were so so good! The quesadilla was DELICIOUS. I had it with a sauce on the side and it was amazing. We also spoke with the manager James who was so so nice and professional and just such a pleasure to speak with. Not only did I receive a fantastic bacon egg & cheese but the gentleman behind the counter separates this place from others.
