“Our waiter was friendly and madw sure to check on us frequently. Our food was received quicker than I expected. The jerk wings NEVER miss. They're absolutely delicious. I was a lillte disappointed by the "spiked" lemonade as it didnt seem to contain any alcohol. Overall I enjoyed my experience and would recommend the restaurant to others.“

“I love Mixto. Great food, great service. We love coming here to sit outside, but it is equally beautiful inside. It was decorated for the holidays a few days ago, and it was beautiful. I also enjoy the iPad menus, they are very user friendly. The food is always wonderful and they are happy to make substitutions if needed to accommodate dietary restrictions.“

“The food was delicious. The plate that I ordered was neatly packed! I ordered oxtails, cabbage and plantains. I came around 9 p.m. and the fact that the food was still hot and fresh says a lot about their thoughts and care about their customer. The plantains were made to order the Cabbage was fresh and the oxtails were hot and tender! That says a lot for it being that late in the evening, so close to closing. I appreciate the professionalism and the attention to detail that this establishment has taken into consideration to implement.“

“I ordered the smoke Jerk Salmon and it was delicious- it was spicy, flavorful, and the salmon was cooked perfectly. Now the people I was with could have seemed like pains in the butt, asking for something other than they had already ordered, BUT the gentleman serving us was kind, patient and fair. He heard their complaints and offered them whatever else they wanted with no fuss. Based on service alone, I would go back.“

“This place is a hidden gem! The jerk chicken pattie was perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of spice, and the smoky flavor was spot on. The chicken and beef patties were fresh, flaky, and full of flavor — easily some of the best I’ve had. The peas and rice were cooked perfectly, and the collard greens were a nice touch — tender and well-seasoned. You can really tell the food is made with care. “Found this treasure place when I was looking for Dominican/ Mexican food for lunch at work. Really really good slow cook ribs. I really want to know how they seasoned it even there might be some recipes online. When you chewing the chicharrones the juice/fat just come out and it taste really really good.Ribs/ chicharrones(crispy slow cook pork belly), rice and beans, salad, and maduros(sweet fried plantains) for $13.Do not go to Applebees, TGI Fridays, McDonald’s, meals from local tea like this gives you better and healthier choices, and they deserved more customers.Part of ribs and chicharrones(the part doesn’t include much fat) became too hard/too dry to eat after long time cook, some of them are not eatable anymore since it’s too hard. There should be a way to avoid this problem. As I know the Cantonese type Chinese BBQ restaurant has slow cook ribs and crispy pork belly too (with different seasoning of course) , but theirs doesn’t have this problem, and pork belly are perfectly brown. I don’t know how they do it. Maybe cover meat with aluminum paper and be more accurate at the timing and temperature by cooking them not as long as Latin chicharrones(chicharrones taste harder/crispier). If you try pork belly from both restaurants you will know what I meant“
