“Our waiter was friendly and madw sure to check on us frequently. Our food was received quicker than I expected. The jerk wings NEVER miss. They're absolutely delicious. I was a lillte disappointed by the "spiked" lemonade as it didnt seem to contain any alcohol. Overall I enjoyed my experience and would recommend the restaurant to others.“

Where to start… Trappixx is an amazing place to have a family dinner, date night, solo dinner etc. The Staff are amazing, friendly and on top of everything everything was a 10/10 best Jamaican food I’ve tasted ! Everything was tidy & clean which is something I really look for. Solange is so warm and both her and her staff have amazing customer service. I ordered a medium oxtail plate with rice & peas & plantains and it was the best plate of oxtail l've ever had... homemade or restaurant. The oxtail was falling off the bone and Solange gave me a little gravy pool to mix in with my rice(I didn’t even have to ask for extra gravy 🥹) The portions were healthy and I was able to share. The plantains were sweet and freshly fried. Everything else looked SOOO GOOD especially the roti. I literally cannot say enough good things and I'm not exaggerating. I tried both the homemade pineapple ginger and the passionfruit both were so delicious. The passion fruit was heavenly. Just go. Try everything for me and report back. “Found this treasure place when I was looking for Dominican/ Mexican food for lunch at work. Really really good slow cook ribs. I really want to know how they seasoned it even there might be some recipes online. When you chewing the chicharrones the juice/fat just come out and it taste really really good.Ribs/ chicharrones(crispy slow cook pork belly), rice and beans, salad, and maduros(sweet fried plantains) for $13.Do not go to Applebees, TGI Fridays, McDonald’s, meals from local tea like this gives you better and healthier choices, and they deserved more customers.Part of ribs and chicharrones(the part doesn’t include much fat) became too hard/too dry to eat after long time cook, some of them are not eatable anymore since it’s too hard. There should be a way to avoid this problem. As I know the Cantonese type Chinese BBQ restaurant has slow cook ribs and crispy pork belly too (with different seasoning of course) , but theirs doesn’t have this problem, and pork belly are perfectly brown. I don’t know how they do it. Maybe cover meat with aluminum paper and be more accurate at the timing and temperature by cooking them not as long as Latin chicharrones(chicharrones taste harder/crispier). If you try pork belly from both restaurants you will know what I meant“

“As a first time visitor i had breakfast, callaloo and saltfish with green bananas n fry dumplings. It WASN'T the absolute best but which restaurant is?
I did enjoy it but way too much oil, obviously they didn't use a spoon that has the strainer in it. Potion could have been a bit more for my $17. But the fry dumplings was tasty. All n all it was a good experience. I would go but but ask for little but more for my money.“

I didn't get platters this time, I ordered everything a la carte, by the pound. We got Pernil, chicharron, tostones, arroz con gandules, stewed beef, guineo, beans, and white rice with extra gravy. Online ordering was also a breeze, the layout was straight forward and very intuitive. It gave you options and even a small section for special requests. “Some of the best Dominican food you're gonna find anywhere outside the island.Spectacular food made fresh every day and a wide variety of dishes and drinks. They used to be cash only, but have an ATM inside and now accept card payments.Definitely my favorite place in the city. Try the mofongo with roast pork. It's extra garlicky and packed with flavor. The rice and beans are always perfect, and so is their pernil (pork shoulder). The appetizers are also worth checking out.Small place, and it gets crowded quick. Totally a place to visit if you're in the city or curious about Dominican food.

The oxtail platter, the pepper steak platter, and the brown stew chicken platter DID NOT DISAPPOINT! All the meats were deliciously flavorful. The cabbage had just the right amount of crunch. “My favorite Jamaican spot in uptown. Food is always good, staff is super cool and friendly. This is the only Jamaican restaurant I’ve been to in Philly where the baked Mac and cheese is made right and it’s so good. The BBQ Jerk chicken is one of my faves. They give good portions too.“
