It had so much flavor, including having mortadela inside. Can’t wait for him to be there again and hopefully have more of the muffaletta ravioli.“

“I’ve visited on several different occasions, and I always pay attention to how the cooks prepare the food. There’s one cook in particular — I think his name starts with a B — who I don’t see as often anymore, but he is always so friendly and welcoming. Every time he’s the one cooking my order, the food is perfect. I actually reorder certain items because I know he’s there.

Don’t get me wrong, the other cook is okay, but there have been a few mistakes on really simple items. I mostly order online, and I will forever be a Lil Trent’s fan, but I have to be honest — the dark-skinned cook definitely deserves more hours. He really does his thing back there.“

“Huge fan, I’ve never had a bad sandwich at Johnny Hot’s, until today 8/30/24. I was supposed to have just pork roll on a steak roll with spicy mustard, no egg and no cheese. The pork roll is usually cut very thin with a nice braise on it. It had egg & cheese on it. The egg & cheese were warm the meat was cool, no grill color to it. By the time I took the egg & cheese off there was hardly any pork roll, very disappointed. It was “no change” Friday, so I gave my apprentice 15 dollars for a sandwich I couldn’t even eat.“

“This has been my favorite halal cart in the city for some time. If you live in the city you know there are bad carts and good carts, this is one of the best. Lamb and falafel are excellent. Service is quick and it's surrounded by perfect places to sit and eat. You will not be disappointed here. He isnt open too late, it varies with weather and time of year, but get there quickly after work. 5-6 pm he is usually still there.“

“I visited the truck during my lunch break to pick up lunch for me and my mother. We both got the chicken over rice with the salad. The man in the truck was very nice and personable. The person in front of me ordered six plates, and he served them promptly. When it was my turn order, he greeted me warmly and served the food fairly quickly. The food is delicious and the portions are great, the meal comes with a drink as well. it's a plentiful serving because I only ate half for dinner and had the other half the next day for lunch and it was just as delicious. “I'm a big fan of the Mexican grill stand. Everything I've ever ordered has been fresh, with perfectly balanced seasoning. The food here is in a whole different league than anything you'll get at one of the cali-mex or tex-mex burrito chains (prices are about the same). The shrimp tacos combine tender & juicy shrimp with pico de gallo and a creamy/spicy sauce--tastes like it's mayo or sour cream based. The steak tacos have chopped white onions and fresh cilantro. Both come in real-deal double soft corn tortillas. Squirt some lime on everything! Enjoy a perfect lunch. But don't bother with their little salsa cups, both green & red are lackluster.“

“Kelly and Amarildo at Byzantine Empire were absolutely amazing as the catering service for my wedding (~50-60 people) in the Philadelphia suburbs a few weeks ago. Before the event, they were extremely helpful and responsive. For the day of, the portions were very generous and the cost was very reasonable. All of my guests raved about the food and no one left hungry. We had a grazing table, served apps, and the mains were salmon, lamb shank (this is what I had and it was awesome), and a beef rib cheesesteak (huge!). Individual creme brulees were served instead of a cake which were delicious. I highly recommend them.“
