“Absolutely the best bagel there is. Each one no matter the flavor is a delight. And their food that they put on the bagel is delicious. Get there before 3;30 PM if you want sliced cheese because they close the slicer at 3;30. I know if I get there at 3;32 PM the slicer is off. So I get tuna fish instead and it’s about as good as it gets. The staff is friendly and do a good job. What a place!“

“Nana’s Deli has recently rebranded as the first and only sourdough bagel shop in Jersey City. They use sourdough starter from my favorite neighborhood bakery, Sourdough Society.

Each bagel is made fresh daily. Their sourdough bagels have a light crisp on the outside and a soft, pillowy center. They’re chewy without being tough, so they won’t break your jaw.

I’ve been picking up sourdough loaves regularly from Sourdough Society, located right inside Nana’s Bagel. Truly some of my favorite sourdough around!

My favorite! I love an open-faced bagel, and the sourdough base made it even better. The lox was perfectly savory, layered over a generous swipe of scallion cream cheese with red onion and capers. Truly a chef's kiss.

I’ve always loved Nana’s hot pastrami sandwich, and this sourdough bagel version was just as good. The pastrami was smoky, tender, and juicy. As a carnivore, I just wished there were a few more pastrami slices.“

“I stopped in on a whim because I was in the neighborhood. I got 4 bagels for the family and the veggie cream cheese. Fresh, excellent top-tier bagels! Black Russian and Egg! Plain! All delicious. We're all lucky in NJ that most bagels we can get are at least okay, but these were a cut above! And the cream cheese was delicious and fresh - vegetables still had a little crunch!

Also, I appreciate that they discourage people coming in and just buying up all the bagels. In the 5 minutes I was in there, lots of people popped in, clearly regulars, for their breakfast. It definitely felt like a go-to place in the community and they make sure they can be open to serve as many as possible. That's cool. I look forward to returning!“

A plain bagel loaded with cream cheese inside, then topped with melted cheese and garlic butter. So simple but SO good. What really made the visit stand out was the service. I found the bagels to be soft enough for my kid which was a big deal for him.

Ordered two iced macchiatos without the sugar which was really good

The lady at the register was sweet and welcoming.

“I live in the area and attend college out of town so getting to the library on my off days is tough. I've been looking for a place with a chill ambiance, wifi, good tea, and coffee. Well, look no more for me. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here. Great rustic look, comfy seating with back support, loads of outlets for laptops, and the second-floor space are super cute and cozy too. Oh and there's a small little outside area that's pretty cool as well. Shaquille (hope I spelled it right) was AMAZING! So down-to-earth, friendly, polite, and easy to talk to. She made me the Tumeric latte for me and I all but licked the cup clean. I had the hummus & cucumber on sourdough toast and it was divine. Also, a great option for vegans.
