Get there before 3;30 PM if you want sliced cheese because they close the slicer at 3;30. I know if I get there at 3;32 PM the slicer is off. “I stopped in on a whim because I was in the neighborhood. I got 4 bagels for the family and the veggie cream cheese. Fresh, excellent top-tier bagels! Black Russian and Egg! Plain! All delicious. We're all lucky in NJ that most bagels we can get are at least okay, but these were a cut above! And the cream cheese was delicious and fresh - vegetables still had a little crunch!

Also, I appreciate that they discourage people coming in and just buying up all the bagels. In the 5 minutes I was in there, lots of people popped in, clearly regulars, for their breakfast. “Nana’s Deli has recently rebranded as the first and only sourdough bagel shop in Jersey City. They use sourdough starter from my favorite neighborhood bakery, Sourdough Society.

Each bagel is made fresh daily. Their sourdough bagels have a light crisp on the outside and a soft, pillowy center. They’re chewy without being tough, so they won’t break your jaw.

I’ve been picking up sourdough loaves regularly from Sourdough Society, located right inside Nana’s Bagel. Truly some of my favorite sourdough around!

My favorite! I love an open-faced bagel, and the sourdough base made it even better. The lox was perfectly savory, layered over a generous swipe of scallion cream cheese with red onion and capers. Truly a chef's kiss.

“I’m not a big bagel fan, but this one was delicious. There is a small menu of 6 items and 3 types of bagels, but it is done to perfection. Not too tick and doughy, crispy on the outside with just enough Whitefish salad, touch of mustard, fresh cucumber & dill with slice of banana peppers. “Definately my favourite bagel place in the neighborhood. I tried both take out and dine in. The quality of the food is great, tons of cream cheese options! the restaurant has a few tables, they are quite small. It gets BUSY quickly, so finding a spot in rush hours isn't always easy. I've seen the line wrapping around the corner but they are also very fast.
They have another location as well in UWS, and I once placed my order for pickup in the wrong location and they managed it internally and still gave me my lunch. Absolutely love this place.“
