“I try to come here every week. It's nice to have just a "normal" deli in town, especially on the west side. (As you can see from my reviews, I'm not a fan of hype over practicality ?). Staff is friendly and they get to know you, and care about you as their customer. Bagels are good of course - and I like that their burgers are not huge. It's silly, but I got excited when they started selling rainbow bagels. Prices are reasonable given the state of prices in general. It's much better coming here for a normal meal than paying for an expensive restaurant on Park Ave.“

“They have SO much of my money, LOL. It's my favorite bagel place on the planet, despite the very unusual (and sometimes forgetful, I hate to admit) service style. Your order will start and finish with the same employee. Personally, I rather like this style of service because I really get to interact with the staff in a more one-on-one way (I like feeling like I'm NOT moving down a line of human automatons like Chipotle). There are times, however, I wish it was just faster and less friendly, LOL. The owner, Olga, is the sweetest woman in the world. She decorates for every holiday and always looks her best. I also love that she works just the same as every other employee; she doesn't manage from afar. I always get the impression her employees love her, too, especially since many of the workers have been there FOREVER. THE BAGELS ARE THE BEST! The texture, the stretch, the size, the flavor: all the best. They have some deli products too, so a great place for lunch as well. Order a taylor ham, egg, and cheddar cheese on a toasted and buttered everything bagel with salt and pepper. Or you can order my other favorite: scallion cream cheese, lox, and extra red onion on a salt bagel (not toasted). When I am not in the tri-state area, THIS is the breakfast I miss the most. When people visit me, THIS is where I take them. The cinnamon rolls are also excellent. They are not made in-house, but are made locally and are amazing.“

“Booking a hotel close to this place was an excellent decision on my part. I will miss the everything bagel with herb cream cheese when I go home. It helps to know what you want before you line up because things move pretty fast once you’re in. I was always able to sit at the counter but if you’re taking it to go that’s probably even better.“

“Yo Alex, you’re the man. You said this chopped cheese was gonna be the best—and you weren’t kidding. This is hands down the best chopped cheese I’ve had on the island without crossing over into Brooklyn.

The staff is super friendly, the whole place feels like home, and Alex himself is a serious jokester. Honestly, the entire experience felt like a Seinfeld episode in the best way possible. And shoutout to the guy behind the stove—you can tell he put real love into that roll.

“The food and service is always on point. I live in Brooklyn but love to stop here whenever I’m in the city or when I’m showing visitors around. I’ve had the avocado toast, the rueben benedict (a must), salmon benedict and the ranchero (brisket dish) and it all hits!! I have yet to try the lunch menu but it’s just the perfect breakfast spot. Coffee is always great too. Just consistently good food and such warm friendly service.“

Get there before 3;30 PM if you want sliced cheese because they close the slicer at 3;30. I know if I get there at 3;32 PM the slicer is off. So I get tuna fish instead and it’s about as good as it gets. The staff is friendly and do a good job. What a place!“

“I stopped in on a whim because I was in the neighborhood. I got 4 bagels for the family and the veggie cream cheese. Fresh, excellent top-tier bagels! Black Russian and Egg! Plain! All delicious. We're all lucky in NJ that most bagels we can get are at least okay, but these were a cut above! And the cream cheese was delicious and fresh - vegetables still had a little crunch!

Also, I appreciate that they discourage people coming in and just buying up all the bagels. In the 5 minutes I was in there, lots of people popped in, clearly regulars, for their breakfast. “I’ve been coming here since the early 90’s it was one of the first proper New York bagels I ever had and it still feels the most authentic to me. I ordered from here recently and the delivery bike broke down. The manager picked up the bagels and hand delivered them himself. There is a reason they have been in business for decades.“

“34th Bagels & More was one of our favorite bagel spots during our time in Midtown Manhattan. While in New York we made it a point to have bagels every day, and this place definitely delivered that classic NYC bagel experience. The shop had a nice local neighborhood feel with a huge selection of fresh bagels, spreads, breakfast options, sandwiches, and coffee. I went with the onion bagel with jalapeño cream cheese, and it was perfect. The bagel was fresh, soft on the inside with a nice chewy texture, and the onion flavor really stood out. The jalapeño cream cheese added just the right amount of spice and creaminess without overpowering the bagel.

“Nana’s Deli has recently rebranded as the first and only sourdough bagel shop in Jersey City. They use sourdough starter from my favorite neighborhood bakery, Sourdough Society.

Each bagel is made fresh daily. Their sourdough bagels have a light crisp on the outside and a soft, pillowy center. They’re chewy without being tough, so they won’t break your jaw.

I’ve been picking up sourdough loaves regularly from Sourdough Society, located right inside Nana’s Bagel. Truly some of my favorite sourdough around!

My favorite! I love an open-faced bagel, and the sourdough base made it even better. The lox was perfectly savory, layered over a generous swipe of scallion cream cheese with red onion and capers. Truly a chef's kiss.

I’ve always loved Nana’s hot pastrami sandwich, and this sourdough bagel version was just as good. The pastrami was smoky, tender, and juicy. As a carnivore, I just wished there were a few more pastrami slices.“

“Visiting the area and walked to court street bag. Did a pick up order. It was ready when I arrived and not soggy by the time I got back to my hotel. I am picky about my lox bagels and this exceeded any expectations!

“The bagel is very chewy, so if that is what you're looking for, give Apollos a try. Small menu makes for easy ordering, and the bagels are fresh! I prefer the tomato and cream cheese on an everything, it's bright from the tomato and creamy from the cheese. Can't go wrong.“

A plain bagel loaded with cream cheese inside, then topped with melted cheese and garlic butter. So simple but SO good. What really made the visit stand out was the service.
