“I always get great service in this place. The food is fantastic (especially for the price). Their salads are made fresh on the spot... they cut everything fresh as they need em... they don't store the lettuce pre cut in tubs like most restaurants do. This is just an example of what sets Ben's apart from most places. Now, yes, I know they pride themselves for their bagels, but truth be told, I don't eat bagels... but my wife LOVES their bagels. -Boots“

“We went directly here after eating at the Cafe because I had my heart set on an onion bagel, and possibly a garlic bagel. The Cafe didn't have either option but I needed them in my life. So we walked over right after. Super cute small spot. Beautiful smoked fish in the cases, amazing cream cheese options. I so wanted the caviar cream cheese, but we just ate and we were gonna be walking around for a few hours. So I got 2 onion and 2 garlic bagels. They thought we was nuts not wanting anything done with them. Like I said I just needed them gonna enjoy it tomorrow morning as our Great American Road Trip continues to Boston. Personally next time.. I'd go to this original location, more variety, of bagels and cream cheese, but no seating. So pick what works for you but definitely Go! 100% recommend.“

“With a name as generic as Bagel Shop in NYC, you better be good. Any concerns regarding quality were quickly dispelled when we walked through the door. The place was packed. We ordered a very basic selection of bagels and assorted spreads, nothing fancy. Overall, the food was great and the coffee was too...piping hot which is a plus. This is clearly a solid local spot with a well deserved reputation. We are glad we visitied and would return.“

The egg was super fluffy and I really enjoyed the kimchi to add another flavor profile. The bagel itself was also delicious - light crunch on the outside but soft and chewy inside. Perfect texture and honestly it was such great value for a huge bagel. The owner gave out free rice balls because the wait was getting long and those were delicious too.“

“Utopia Bagels is definitely one of the best bagel places in New York, and after my visit, I can understand why it's so highly rated.

The bagels were fresh, delicious, and lived up to the hype. But what impressed me even more was the staff. They were always smiling, friendly, and more than happy to help, especially for first-time customers who weren't familiar with the menu. They patiently explained the different options without making us feel rushed.

To be honest, this kind of genuine customer service is becoming harder to find, especially in a busy metropolitan city like New York. It really made the whole experience even better.

“A must-try bagel spot in Manhattan.

Apollo Bagels is often recommended as one of the best places for bagels in New York, so we had to check it out.

We ordered the smoked salmon everything bagel, and it was absolutely delicious.

The bagel is made with sourdough, which makes it slightly less chewy than a traditional bagel, but I really liked the flavor and seasoning. It also looked beautiful—just as good visually as it tasted. It is served like an open face sandwich.

I do wish they had been a bit more generous with the smoked salmon.

That said, Apollo Bagels is definitely worth a visit. You’re very likely to enjoy it.“

“I stopped in on a whim because I was in the neighborhood. I got 4 bagels for the family and the veggie cream cheese. Fresh, excellent top-tier bagels! Black Russian and Egg! Plain! All delicious. We're all lucky in NJ that most bagels we can get are at least okay, but these were a cut above! And the cream cheese was delicious and fresh - vegetables still had a little crunch!

Also, I appreciate that they discourage people coming in and just buying up all the bagels. In the 5 minutes I was in there, lots of people popped in, clearly regulars, for their breakfast. It definitely felt like a go-to place in the community and they make sure they can be open to serve as many as possible. That's cool. I look forward to returning!“

“Nana’s Deli has recently rebranded as the first and only sourdough bagel shop in Jersey City. They use sourdough starter from my favorite neighborhood bakery, Sourdough Society.

Each bagel is made fresh daily. Their sourdough bagels have a light crisp on the outside and a soft, pillowy center. They’re chewy without being tough, so they won’t break your jaw.

I’ve been picking up sourdough loaves regularly from Sourdough Society, located right inside Nana’s Bagel. Truly some of my favorite sourdough around!

My favorite! I love an open-faced bagel, and the sourdough base made it even better. The lox was perfectly savory, layered over a generous swipe of scallion cream cheese with red onion and capers. Truly a chef's kiss.

I’ve always loved Nana’s hot pastrami sandwich, and this sourdough bagel version was just as good. The pastrami was smoky, tender, and juicy. As a carnivore, I just wished there were a few more pastrami slices.“

“I’ve been coming here since the early 90’s it was one of the first proper New York bagels I ever had and it still feels the most authentic to me. I ordered from here recently and the delivery bike broke down. The manager picked up the bagels and hand delivered them himself. There is a reason they have been in business for decades.“

We walked over from the Ronald McDonald House one morning feeling a little overwhelmed by the city at first, but this place instantly made us feel at home. Everyone was genuinely kind, caring, courteous, and so generous — like we’d been stopping in every morning for years.

And the food… wow. I know “it’s just a bagel,” but seriously, these were incredible. The bagels were toasted perfectly with just the right amount of chew, the cream cheese selection was amazing, and the lox were absolutely delightful. Even the black coffee was perfect.

“34th Bagels & More was one of our favorite bagel spots during our time in Midtown Manhattan. While in New York we made it a point to have bagels every day, and this place definitely delivered that classic NYC bagel experience. Located right in Midtown, it’s a great quick stop whether you’re heading out for the day or grabbing breakfast before exploring the city.

The shop had a nice local neighborhood feel with a huge selection of fresh bagels, spreads, breakfast options, sandwiches, and coffee. I went with the onion bagel with jalapeño cream cheese, and it was perfect. The bagel was fresh, soft on the inside with a nice chewy texture, and the onion flavor really stood out. The jalapeño cream cheese added just the right amount of spice and creaminess without overpowering the bagel.

One thing you immediately notice is how fresh everything tastes. The portions were generous, the staff was friendly, and the atmosphere had that busy New York breakfast vibe that makes the experience even better. “The line may look long, but it moves surprisingly fast. I had been to the West Village location before, but I actually enjoyed the Williamsburg location even more. Being able to grab a bagel and walk to the waterfront made the experience even better.
The smoked salmon bagel was absolutely delicious. The cream cheese, the salmon, and the bagel itself were all amazing. The fresh orange juice was also excellent and paired perfectly with the bagel. If you’re visiting with your partner or a friend, you can easily share one because they’re quite filling. Definitely worth the wait!“
