“I was at first excited when Dao Madison moved into town and even more excited when I was told they can accommodate gluten free as I have celiac. After several miss steps with mixed up orders, Dao is now cooking on all cylinders. We recently were there with friends and everyone loved it. “My family and I come here all the time for large family gatherings. The food is absolutely phenomenal here, especially the pecking duck buns and sweet and sour pork. We also love the soy sea bass, crispy chicken, ginger scallion lobster, pork chops and corn egg drop soup. One time we brought them king crab legs to cook and they cooked all of our king crab legs to perfection!! I don’t usually write google reviews but this place is so special to me and my family and adore this spot. “The food at this Chinese restaurant is super good. I recently moved to Fairfield and needed to find a good spot for Chinese takeout out. So, I tried joy wok. I ordered sesame chicken combo and the Mongolian beef. They were both super good. I don’t normally like my sesame chicken a little spicy and they made it just right for me.
The customer service is also great. I had accidentally ordered white rice with the Mongolian beef and when I picked up my order they switched it to fried rice right away with no extra charge. Everyone there is super nice. Definitely recommend if you are in the area in search of a good Chinese spot.“

However, I was displeased to see that we were charged for six portions of rice when we ordered four dishes totaling $90. I believe that one rice portion should have been included per dish, making a charge for two extra portions fair. Given that our four dishes combined for $90, it felt a bit like a hidden $1.50 per dish to pay for rice that really should have been complementary.

While the food itself was excellent, the unexpected rice charges definitely impacted my overall impression.“

I had found one takeout place in Mendham that has done really well for years and when I work in that area I order it. On a whim I asked them how theirs was and said I would let her know.
